Afternoon Tea at Caffe Concerto - 29/31 Piccadilly
I am sorry to say this is the worst afternoon tea I have experienced at an extortionate cost.
I have emailed their customer services twice now and no response at all.
I don’t like leaving bad reviews without discussing with the venue first but as no response from them at all i am posting this
We had the option to choose the best place and the waiter had no objection.
We had a lovely tea and the service was friendly. There was a small issue with our bill but on raising with the restaurant they resolved it to our satisfaction.
I went to ask the male staff a question, and was shocked to find him VERY rude. He made a dismissive wafting gesture for me to sit down and stated he would “come to the table”. To make matters worse he never even came. Though the lady did offer a free coffee/tea/cake to compensate, and was very sweet.
The most amazing service!!! Loved every minute- thank you, thank you, thank you!!!!!!!!!!! Loved it!!!
The waiters where rude , the food tasted of nothing the cake was a disaster
The service was excellent, very polite and friendly staff, however the food was terrible. The sandwiches had obviously been pre-made earlier that morning and were very dry and stale and inedible. For £25 for an afternoon tea it wasn’t worth the money. Have had far superior afternoon teas for the same price, disappointing.
The restaurant was close, we had to wait 10 minutes before the manager come to explain us why we were not allowed inside even with the booking. The manager was super rude, lack of education and was rushing as the girlfriend was waiting for him. Didn’t have us any explanation and, as soon as we walk out, he swears at us in his language and start kissing the girlfriend. I’ve never seen such a lack of respect, disgusting.
Not only the waitress was really lovely and helpfull.
This was a gift from my daughter .The sandwiches were delicious with plenty of filling, the scones were sooooo light and the small cakes were scrumptious. The young girl who served us was so pleasant and welcoming ,and felt sorry for her having to wear a visor on an incredibly hot day ,but she just carried on smiling ,had such a positive attitude.A lovely experience,Thankyou
The service was very rude and tried to mess with us. Sadly we realized too late and I the end payed 5£ extra for a tea that actually was included.
More management than staff! Therefore took awhile to take order etc and no check back so we had to leave the table e and find a member of staff to order more drinks etc
Awesome experience , lovely service :) the staff were super friendly and would definetly recommend it.
I took my 92 year old ex-neighbour for her birthday treat and we really enjoyed ourselves. The Manager welcomed us warmly and our server, Stephanie was so helpful and kind. The food was of a very high standard, delicious sandwiches with plenty of filling, crumbly scones and mouth-watering cakes. Teas was excellent and in good supply and we felt really well looked after.
food and service was good but place was very busy when we went
Have eaten at Caffe Concerto three times and have never been disappointed-- great service and a wide choice of delicious food
Lovely lunch with friends. I’m from London so always a bit hesitant to go to a touristy spot but the food was lovely, big portions so definitely worth the pricey bill, and lovely ambience. Will be back!
The food lacked flavour and it really was very basic for the prices charged. Most of the food could have been cooked at home with ease.
Food was not fresh and the service poor and not friendly since we said we were going to use a Groupon.
Booked this easily on line. arrived on time were shown to a good table. Tea and cakes were lovely well presented lovely taste and each stand was enough for two people. Staff were very good and attentive.
I would definitely book afternoon tea again.
A bit noisy and a small wiggling table not suitable for 5 people (3 kids) and big trays. But good quality pastries and good service
The café was extremely busy when we arrived but the manager re-seated in a better location us when several customers left.
We had a cream tea which was delicious and a welcome end to a busy shopping trip in London.
Would definitely book again.
This was my third visit to a Caffe Concerto in London. My friend and I both said it was one of the best Proseccos we have had and the sandwiches, scones, cakes etc., were delicious, as usual. We sat at the back by the faux Cherry tree - I prefer the tables there. We did have to wait a while at our table before being served when we arrived at 2.30 pm as the cafe was busy, presumably with lunchtime diners, but well worth waiting for ! Staff very pleasant. I used Wowcher.
Spacious corner banquette for a 7-party It was great. The cakes, the teas and the time we spent there were perfect very well waitered by a very pleasant and discret staff.
It is to expensive for one afternoon tea such as this.
It was not amazing.
This is by far the worst caffe concerto I have been to. First of all, we came a little late to our one table reservation. The waiter was completely annoyed and said to us 'you are very late' in a rude manner. Not to worry, she might have had a bad day. We sat down and ordered and also asked for a glass of water. They gave us a glass of water with someone's pink lipstick print on it. It was unclean, unhygienic and they did not even bother to wash it. Secondly, they completely forgot my hot chocolate order and I asked them to cancel it because I was not impressed. Thirdly, since we did not like the particular table we sat at and there were free tables at the back, we decided to sit there instead. The same waiter at the start was not happy and asked us why did we move, who let us do that and we should ask next time. It was very weird considering none of her colleagues said the same thing and already saw us move. The whole service was disorganised, the staff not particularly well-mannered and you just do not feel comfortable there. The other concertos are much much better in service and staff customer relationship so this is not the branch you go to.
It is a lovely setting and a real treat, with food that not only looks great but tastes great too
I booked a table for 4 to celebrate my mother-in-laws birthday. We arrived on time but I was disappointed that we were seated in a tight corner with not enough room to manoeuvre. When the tea trays arrived we didn’t have much space on the table either so we all felt a bit squashed.
Overall the food was lovely and very filling and we all had a nice time without feeling rushed. I’ll definitely be coming back.
Service was a little indifferent. Scones were heavy and claggy. The mille fuille was heavy and almost like pudding.
My overall visit to this branch is usually very satisfactory.Maybe its just almost end of the day on a Saturday, one lady is starting to get grumpy.
The food exceeded my expectations, really good, helpful and professional service. Will go back
Another lovely experience at Caffe Concerto, a few yards from one of their other premises visited last time. Great attentive staff, showed quickly to our table, and delicious food and Prosecco ! Reason for noise level - windows open and near to road noise, but then it is London !
The food was lovely however the service was below average so I probably won’t go again.
Nice experience. Plenty of food but average quality. Service was slow at the beginning but the waiter made up for it by offering another cup of tea for free.
Lovely service, the manager I think she was, her name is Oana, very friendly, made us feel really confortable. Everything we had was very fresh and delicious. A lovely experience.
Good atmosphere, quality customer service and very nice food
I was shocked to learn that only oe cup of tea or coffee was included!
A mid-morning brunch served in an eloquent setting, with attentive service, and an incredible value-for-money.
We (five) had a lovely experience, and would certainly recommend the Caffe Concerto.
Just a one minute walk from Piccadilly Underground, it is easily accessible, and warmly welcoming.
Location is perfect! and a very warm environment- In general all very nice.
Thank you cafe concerto
I’m sure the restaurant is fine, if that’s what you want, but I reserved opposite the Ritz, and opentable put my group here , and neither venue had heard of the reservation, so it’s opentable that was crap - we didn’t stay, and ate elsewhere.
