Afternoon Tea at Caffe Concerto - 52 Kings Road
Unfortunately I would not return to caffe concerto for afternoon tea ever again. If I had not bought the deal via groupon I would have requested a refund! The cakes we terrible and the scones were dry, so far from my what I expected. In terms of cost for what we ate (didn’t eat) it was not worth the money at all. I booked the venue for a birthday treat and we ended up leaving and going for dinner elsewhere, it’s such a shame that it ruined the celebrations. The staff were fairly friendly and did their best to accommodate us, shame about the food!
Would only cautiously recommend because of the food and setting. Unfriendly, cold staff with service bordering on indifference (at best) to hostile (at worst). The kind of attitude where they seem resentful you’re there only warmed up slightly when we paid and left. If leaving a tip was optional would not have left anything, but unfortunately it was mandatory. Won’t be returning in future.
Had afternoon tea. The scones were amazing as was everything else tbh!
Caffe Concerto was recommended to us, and it was a lovely experience. The sandwiches and scones were perfect. The desserts weren't our favorites, but we were thoroughly stuffed from the sandwiches and scones that it didn't matter!
I went here for my 20th Birthday, booked a table of 8 for afternoon tea. When I came the table wasn't ready and they never asked for my reservation name. Then the waitress gave us lunch menus after stating we'd be having afternoon tea. And as only 4 of us had arrived and the other 4 were parking the other car. The waitress asked if she could bring everything out now? I felt about rushed and the waitress had very poor attitude towards us. Table maintenance wasn't the best as everyone had finished their teas and it was on the table for 2 hours. I understand it got a bit busy but I could feel the stress from this waitress and it wasn't pleasent. The manager I don't remeber a name did look after us on the other hand and made sure we were okay. However for spending nearlly £200 and £20 service charge I wish I didn't bother. Sorry for this review, I can imagine it is probably an amazing place. But I was let down by my experience.
We changed our order to a shared bruschetta, ice-cream, lemonade - and champagne. We came up from Brighton for the Chelsea Show. We found Caffe Concerto last year and had afternoon tea then, which was delicious. It was much hotter this year so we changed our order to the above - it was all delicious and Caffe Concerto is now very much a part of our Chelsea Flower Show visit. See you next year!
Afternoon tea was gorgeous. Prosecco, three pots of tea, sandwiches, cream tea and fancy cakes were all very much enjoyed and although we were there for an hour and a half we had to take some home in a "doggy bag"
We all very much enjoyed our pre-theatre dinner at the Caffe Concerto. The staff were
warm and welcoming and the food was extremely good. It was a convenient place to
meet up with old friends from all over the place and everyone found it without any
problems. It has a great atmosphere too!
Lovely unhurried visit with attentive and friendly waiters. Really great visit
Good variety in Afternoon Tea menu catering for different tastes and appetites! The service was excellent.
