Booked the afternoon tea for a anniversary. When we came at the location, they didn’t even checked if we made a reservation, so the “extra” note for a anniversary wasn’t read. The afternoon tea was delicious, it all came so fast that we were finished in 45 minutes.

I took friend for birthday. Booked reservation phoned twice to make sure booking was OK. had reply to confirm bookng. Had a groupon voucher which wasn't accepted I was embarrassed. Groupon refunded most but still had to pay extra £10 so be careful.

We went for afternoon tea, the waiter greeted us cheery but as soon as i let him know that i was there with a groupon voucher, his attitude changed, he frowned and seated us in the corner, didnt even take my voucher, so I thought maybe he woukd take it later but we waited for about twenty minutes for service, as we thought that they maybe were preparing our tea, but I flagged down another waiter,I told him that we were seated for nearly half an hour,so asked when will our order be ready?,he said defensively he was letting us chat a bit before he asked us for our orders, even though it was clear we were waiting for service, he took my voucher to scan, which meant we were wasting time waiting for the tea to arrive when the order hadnt even been placed !, we saw the waiter who seated us faffing around another table of customers. It really made me feel inferior, as if we weren't good enough for good service,so unwelcome. It ruined the atmosphere for me. They really need to work on their customer service, they didnt even apologise and were defensive .

Having purchased cakes in the caffe several times when staying in London I felt sure that afternoon tea there would be something special but sadly I was mistaken, they didn't seem to have any idea about my booking and we were sat at the back of the caffe, service took forever and when it arrived we were sadly disappointed, the tea was served in a tiny pot and it took me 3 attempts to get some boiling water to top it up with, the sandwiches were mediocre with fillings not to our taste and the cakes were more like little deserts and extremely sickly, this was accompanied by 4 quite dry scones but as we'd not had lunch we were both quite hungry so ate these, as neither of us could manage the rather sickly desert type cakes at the time we decided to take them with us rather than leave them as the afternoon tea wasn't cheap, this took a very long time to get organised and we had to chase the waiters several times before they finally arrived back with us in a takeaway container. The whole experience was that of organised chaos and having paid the bill as was part of an anniversary treat for my partner I felt ripped off. We would never go there again for tea and I will go back to buying the odd nice cake from there as and when I am in London.

Nice easy location to find. Internally had nice décor an atmosphere was nice. We arrived half an hour late for the booking an they didn't make an issue of it. The food itself was amazing and they had a good selection of Tea's/Coffee/Hot Chocolate to choose from. Overall it was a lovely place..

When we arrived we got told they don’t accept reservations so we must have the wrong restaurant. After showing them we our reservation on open table we got shown to a table.

Afternoon tea, sandwiches were good, scones were good, cakes were ok.

Underwhelming experience

After I had booked through OpenTable, I saw a review that said they don't actually reserve tables. So, I called up the restaurant. I was told on the phone that they do NOT indeed reserve tables and that you have to queue. When I insisted that I had indeed booked through OpenTable, the man on the phone resisted. I believe our table was reserved. I saw a large queue as we were leaving. If you book through OpenTable, you should definitely call up the restaurant to confirm because there seems to be lack of communication between OpenTable and the restaurant.

My mother was up for a visit so I booked afternoon tea for us. The location is great for people watching and it was busy.
The food was lovely, I’m a mustard fan and the one they use tastes delicious. Very well presented and the service was great. I do recommend but book as this is very busy.
