Afternoon Tea at Caffe Concerto - Regent Street
Was able to make a reservation online, then showed up just to find out that the place was closed. Didn’t get to fulfill the reservation.
I expected to have a table booked for afternoon tea with 50% off my bill which I had responded by email invite.
This did not happen. The staff advised I should have called to book So I left
On arrival they said that they hadn't received my booking as online bookings weren't working so no reservation had been made. Luckily there was a table available. Our waitress was rude and short with her conversation. The food was great so luckily didn't spoil it as it was part of a surprise day out for my husbands 40th birthday.
Perfect ! Very good food ! Thank you for the service
We enjoyed our early afternoon tea at Caffe Concerto in Regent Street. The food was good, but the ambience was more of a cafe - albeit a nice one - rather than the 5* hotel lounge ambience we would have preferred. It was a busy time of the year, we didn't book far enough ahead to get what we wanted, and it was very early afternoon so were overlapping with people having a late lunch. Overall, we were pleased to have the opportunity to have afternoon tea.
My tea cup was cracked, the food was placed down with absolutely no explanation, we had no clue what was in the sandwiches or what the cakes were. Staff never spoke, regents street shop was tired I think perhaps the staff were too. Overall disappointing.
I was not happy with Caffe Centro Regent Street..... The staff was terrible when I confirmed my reservation, the service was very bad and I didn't want to go again. Absolutely not recommended.
I bought a grupos voucher on arrival the manager was not politely was not helpful and was very rude I won’t recommend to a friend café concert at regent street
I’ll never comeback
Afternoon tea cheap, not bad . Recommended for the experience and not dying trying
We came here often and today they surprised us with their new afternoon tea just a delicious treat
I went there with my partner before we head to our hotel. We’d been there a few times last week during our holidays we really enjoyed the place and food. Highly recommended
A terrible experience. Rude staff. Raw scones. Dirty toilets. Don' t bother
It was good! good mat, good location, but very noisy all the time!!! The staff made big noise when she cleaned the knivs and folks. That was not thoughtful.
They didn’t know our reservation. During we talk our reservation, the owner looked us annoying. The afternoon tea was so-so and cheap.
We have booked the table however upon the arrival staff was surprised to hear that and not interested at all. Customer service quite poor, felt quite rushed. Food decent but nothing special. No one bothered to ask if we were OK. Not enough clotted cream for scones! Quite a shame as this was a special day for us. Not worth the money.
The food of Cafe concerto is amazing. But the staff was very rude. They couldn’t find our reservation and was behaving rudely and accusing me that we haven’t booked. I showed the reservation confirmation and then they seated us. The waitress was rude as well. One of my friends purse fell from her chair, and she didn’t notice. The waitress could have just told her could you please pick up your bag. But instead she said you put your bag here she is trying to kills us to another waitress. And trust me she wasn’t joking. I like the cafe comcerto in Westfield but this one was just cramped. Not the most amazing place to take my American friends.
We had a group on voucher for afternoon tea. Very unfriendly staff, barely spoke to you as they took you to the table. Got nice cup of tea straight away. Waited about 20 minutes or more for the afternoon tea. Waiters/waitresses never asked if everything was ok or would we like anything else, made you feel like you shouldn't,t be there. I couldn't,t wait to leave. Not the usual experience of groupon. Went to Criterion once fabulous, completely different. Would never go back.
It was really good, I always appreciate Cafe Concerto.
I would like to give zero stars but this option isn't available. Truly dreadful waiting staff. Stale scones. Cream cakes stuck to plates and totally inedible. Tea made with bog standard tea bags...wouldn't come here again if they were giving it away.
We had a very poor experience. They didn’t seem to know we had booked and I am not sure they will award us our points. We were squashed in to a tight space. The service was poor and the food mediocre. We were not offered a top up of tea to drink or hot water. When we asked they then charged us £7.90 for two extra pots of tea using a single tea bag in each pot. We ordered proscecco with the tea which took for ever to arrive and one was completely flat. In the end we had to complain but the manager was reluctant and slow to make amends. We will not be returning again.
There's not enough room, tables are pretty cramped.
Smaller restaurant than it looked on the website photos however, nice inside, clean and comfortable. We had afternoon tea and felt this we good value compared with other London venues. Cafe Concerto were happy for us to take home our left overs and packed these nicely for us. One thing I would say is, watch out for the 12% service charge as this can push up your overall bill.
Bad experience from start to end. On arrival, the restaurant couldn't find the reservation I had made, but they had tables available so were able to seat us. They didnt take our order until 20 minutes later (after we called them), then had to wait an hour for our afternoon tea!! Surely it doesnt take that long for cakes and some scones. When we asked how much longer it would take, the waitress didnt even apologise, instead saying the chef has been making it and they had a table of 20 behind us. When we asked for the bill, when leaving, it didnt arrive until we walked up to the till to pay. There were 'busy' discussing the light bulbs they had to change! Wont be going back there again. The one in Green Park has better service.
It's a bit too crowded, tables are too close to each other and it's difficult to have a conversation as it's too noisy.
I was disappointed with the service. When we came in and I had said I've booked a table, they first didn't know. Then they chased two women from a table away, and left one napkin with a knife from them on it. She just wanted to add a new fork, which i found really unhygenic. Two of three plates were chipped, one of them had some dirt on it. When I got my drink, the saucer was messy with my hot chocolate. Also, the food was not very impressive. Nice scones, but the macarons were totally out of shape. Sorry, but not to recommend!!
After seeing on the website that you can book and they cater for wheat and gluten intolerant people we booked a table leaving a note about wheat and gluten option requirements. At no point did anyone contact us, i phoned 5 times in the weeks leading to our booking and no one answered each time. When we got there we were told that they do not cater for wheat and gluten free and there was nothing they could do so we had to leave without eating.
Went to this site, as it was handy for some Xmas shopping. A mix up in bookings ( my mistake) was dealt with both professionally and courteously, and we were given a free beverage, to compensate! Excellent and friendly service. Will go again.
Regret every penny paid for two afternoon teas in this café. It was a treat for overseas friend to show the charm of good old English tradition, but the impression was very poor. Main reason- the place is absolutely not serving the purpose-crowded, noisy, tables stumbling into each other.
Very wrong atmosphere for Afternoon tea. As to thee food- cakes were good, but sandwiches simply not tasty, with scarce fillings and excessive bread.
But still the main thing- this is not the venue for Afternoon tea.
I booked a table for Afternoon Tea for 2 but this proved unnecessary. Tables were free and we were offered a menu so the booking was ignored. The food was unexceptional. The sandwiches had very little filling and the bread was a bit dry. The scones were delicious and accompanied by real clotted cream and Tiptree jam. Some of the cakes were not very fresh as the pastry was soggy.
Initially I was surprised at the size of the venue; it was smaller than I had imagined. A very relaxed atmosphere, small groups of people having a good time together, it felt very intimate.
At times it was difficult to get the attention of staff but once you did they were great, swiftly providing what had been requested, very patient and with a good knowledge of the dishes available.
Food was good, not fabulous or anything but but you did have clean plates at the end, we had the lamb shanks x2, king prawns with tagliatelle and a salmon dish. Having said that the watermelon icecream was amazing, and I don't usually even like watermelon flavoured things and my blackforest gateaux was light, moist and satisfying.
My overwhelming memory of the visit was being able to spend some quality time with great friends in a relaxed and comfortable environment in a little cocoon having our needs attended to.
