Afternoon Tea at Corinthia London
Designed to showcase individual elements of a tea ceremony and with every aspect of a guests’ experience considered, our expert Tea Master weighs and infuses bespoke tea blends for the perfect cup of tea. Delight in this wonderful interactive experience, with cakes and indulgent patisseries served from our heritage trolley on a bespoke line of Richard Brendon bone china. For a touch of elegance, enjoy a glass of Laurent-Perrier Brut Champagne in Baccarat Mille Nuits champagne flutes with a nod to the breath-taking Baccarat crystal chandelier overhead.
Came here on a Saturday for afternoon tea with two friends. The beautiful airy lounge had a vibrant atmosphere with soft piano music playing in the background. Service was very attentive thanks to a lovely Asian looking man in glasses serving us (forgot to ask his name but he was was exceptional). He took the time to explain each item and was quick to notice when we needed refills. Essentially, the service was what you would expect in a 5* hotel. What I also liked about their service was the flexibility with the drinks- you can have both coffee and tea if you wish with no extra charges levied. Overall I would highly recommend afternoon tea here. They are also sensitive to dietary requirements such as Halal which is also a bonus.
A beautiful setting, great food, amazing champagne and wonderful staff.
Was an amazing treat, all the food was lovely. What I would say is it’s slightly overpriced for what it is. The sandwiches could have been a better (more expensive tasting) selection but the cakes were perfect. The hot chocolate was a particular favourite!
40th Wedding Anniversary
My mother and I enjoyed our afternoon tea. It was a lovely experience. Well recommended.
I really enjoyed our afternoon tea last week. Everyone was very helpful and friendly. My sandwiches were made especially for me as I can’t eat several things. They even made extra in case I wanted more which was very kind and appreciated. Also being able to choose our cakes was good as we could have the ones we liked rather than the ones we were given as my husband doesn’t eat chocolate and sometimes it’s wasteful.
Beautiful hotel and beautiful afternoon tea. This was our first afternoon tea experience. We did the tea with the champagne and it was a fun, delicious and relaxing way to spend an afternoon in London. The hotel and setting is beautiful although we were placed at a small table on the side and I would have prefered a table in the main dining room. Regardless the tea menu was extensive and delicious. The sandwiches, scones and desserts were amazing. We were so full and satisfied when we left. This is not a cheap experience but if you feel like a splurge it's worth it!
I've enjoyed a champagne afternoon tea at The Corinthia on three or four occasions. I think it's the best champagne afternoon tea in London. I've been to other places, including the other 'top' hotels that pride themselves on their afternoon tea, but I've no doubt The Corinthia is the best. It has the best space for it, the best ambience, the service is very good, the food is enjoyable and they serve good quality champagne.
On this particular occasion the service wasn't quite up to the usual high standard. It wasn't as efficient as usual and we occasionally had to remind them that we were still waiting for this or that. Maybe they were one or two staff members short. However, the service is usually absolutely superb and very impressive.
It's not an inexpensive afternoon. Don't go if you're on a budget or trying to cut down on your spending. It's the finest quality champagne afternoon tea in London and you pay accordingly. But if you can afford it, you'll enjoy it.
Everything was perfect, this was a belated wedding anniversary treat for the two of us. My wife had watched a TV program about the hotel and it went to the top of her places to visit. So I booked it and gained some brownie points.
The staff were attentive and helpful and it appeared that there could not be anything that they could not conjure up.
The food was lovely and it was so filling we had to bring some home.
An experience I would recommend to someone looking for something special.
We had a lovely time at the Corinthia Hotel for afternoon tea. Food and service was great. We were there to celebrate my mother’s birthday, the waiter brought out a cake and candle for her which was a lovely touch. Can’t wait to visit again.
Fantastic food and very friendly service - good atmosphere
We had a really lovely experience, the food and setting was amazing. The service and attention to detail was the best and it really was a real treat for my sister who we were celebrating pregnancy and the extra touch of the celebration cake really made the experience extra special. The chicken tikka sandwich was our favourite. The crystal room was beautiful and would recommend whole heartily as an excellent afternoon tea.
Superb location and excellent ambience in the Crystal lounge. Service was amazing and we were made to feel very welcome.
Food was wonderful with seconds offered on all courses so don't eat lunch!
Would highly recommend.
Wow what a treat celebrating a friend ‘special Birthday ‘. Was fab u lous. From Cocktails in the bar we were escorted to our table where we were given insight into the Crystal chandelier with one red light
Food was awesomely look at and eat. Relaxed un rushed. Our server took time to get to know us and was engaging. Would definitely go again. Pianist in background. Lovely selection sandwiches. Beautiful setting. What more could you ask for. Well done
We had a wonderful afternoon tea. The food was outstanding and the service was impeccable. We look forward to returning!
I’ve been most of famous/popular afternoon tea places in London as I love it.
This place is just average like other “should-be-decent” hotels.
Not enough waiters/waitresses to look after their customers.
But somehow still they keep tea pots away from tables, which makes us always thirsty.
If they can’t, they better just put it on the tables to let customers pour their own tea whenever they want.
Difficult to get their attention and takes long to ask something like other “popular posh” hotels.
But this place is not as popular as others, which makes us easier to book even at the last minute.
So it might be a useful place when we can’t find any availability at others but still have to book.
We were celebrating my sisters birthday and we had the best time. I’ve been to many different places for high tea and I have to say our experience at The Corinthia was one of the best. The pianist, Kevin went above and beyond to keep us entertained and feel welcomed. He even took the time to show us around the several eateries within The Corinthia on this break. I would and have already recommended the Corinthia to my family and friends.
An amazing experience ... food delicious and service exemplary
My main complaint is that our 2 seater table was on the edge of the resaurant with a gangway between us and the main area.Residents in Track Suits and Shorts were walking up and down and stopping to see what we were eating spoiling the ambiance. We found this most disturbing and spoiled the event for us.
The food and service was great no complaints there. We made an effort to maintain a dress code all to no avail.
Outstanding from the moment we walked through the door. Food, service and ambience was next level. Everything had amazing textures and flavours, staff were excellent, very knowledgeable and professional.
We went as a couple for a birthday, would highly recommend going.
It was our first visit to this London Hotel.
It was very easy to get to with great transport links.
We enjoyed high quality food and high quality service in luxurious surroundings.
Fantastic. 5 Star. Highly recommended!
Thanks Corinthia Hotel
Absolutely brilliant, best gluten free afternoon tea ever, and we've made a career of trying them all, staff absolutely adorable, for a one time experience cannot be beaten, extremely relaxed and incredibly helpful staff, not over bearing, but totally on top of situation.
Pianist was wonderful, and very friendly and played all we asked for, worth his weight in gold, overall cannot wait to visit the crystal lounge again. Xxxxxx🥳
We absolutely enjoyed our experience at teh Corinthia - the staff were very attentive and went the extra mile to make my daughter's birthday just that extra bit special. Thank you Corinthia, will certainly return.
Afternoon tea was delicious and very beautifully presented
A beautiful place with lovely staff, the food was delicious and plentiful, thoroughly enjoyed it and would definitely recommend.
Absolutely fantastic go hungry beautiful food amazing atmosphere great service and the champagne 😉 and the tea is delicious not cheap but an event worthwhile
The food and service was very good but if you book tea for 2 people you sit in the corridor which is the main walk way from the reception to the lift and you feel as if you are in the cheap seats and not part of the whole experience.
Lovely surroundings, attentive staff. Piano playing was great.
Great sandwiches but not as impressed with cakes. Plenary of tea offered and served.
Rhubarb jam was the best!
It’s a lot of money for nothing more inventive than everywhere else. You are paying for the location and the name.
One cake was burnt, the others were nothing special really.
Nice way to spend a few hours but..! Better value elsewhere
Beautiful venue. Totally recommend this experience a rare treat.
A fabulous high tea, in a fabulous setting. The ambience, decor and service were everything you would expect from one of the most luxurious hotels in the world. High tea is a very well thought through fusion of tradition with a modern twist.
The obligatory cucumber sandwiches included cream cheese and a hint of reddish — just enough to add interest — and the salmon was elevated by the addition of a touch of marmalade. I know, it sounds odd, but it worked. If you are hungry, you can have seconds on any sandwiches — though be warned, you may struggle to last the distance if you do (that said, incredibly elegrant doggy bags are available).
It being high summer, sweets were a homage to strawberries — apart from the scones and marshmallow, almost everything involved the berry.
And the teas! What a choice — all the classics, and then some. You are encouraged to try different blends at different stages of the meal (for this really is a meal). The darjeeling and Early Grey were perfection, the vanilla interesting, but not really to my taste — so was quickly substituted.
Needless to say the people watching is also excellent. But there was only one, big, disappointment. We didn't spot Beyonce, who we later discovered was staying there on the day of our visit
The service was amazing and we were regularly offered more food. It was lovely the best afternoon tea I’ve had.!
Lovely setting, very good service and all areas of the hotel are immaculate. Very easy to get to aswell.
Definitely the best experience for our family of 4. We have been to one other similar experience and this out-classed the previous one, which we thought was spectacular.
Great service, plenty of food, very generous with replenishing our plates and pots of tea!
Just the best ever afternoon tea! The food, the relaxed atmosphere and the service, which was exceptional, all went into making our visit one to be remembered. Plans already in place to re visit.
The tea is served under the imposing crystal chandelier. The tables look impeccable with the black/red/gold crockery & crystal champagne flutes. Sandwich selections were tasty, scones warm & 2 varieties. The cakes were nice but all strawberry based due to Wimbledon theme. However a plated celebration opera type cake was given as we were celebrating our silver wedding anniversary. This was a good break from overwhelming strawberry....
Lovely service, ambience and food.
The cakes are delicious and it offers a big selection of food
Excellent afternoon tea and we had individual birthday cakes with a candle each 😀 perfect afternoon. Thank you!!
Such a pleasant experience from the moment we walked through the revolving doors where we were greeted by Paulo, who looked after my husband and myself for most of our reservation.
we enjoyed the subtle pianist playing beautifully whilst we enjoyed our gorgeous champagne afternoon tea.
The attention to detail was implacable and nothing could be faulted. My husband is a Coeliac which some Hotels find it a bit of a task to cope with without us feeling ourselves having to apologise - this was definitely not the case at the Corinthia, he had the same gluten free choices as myself which was superb and great care was taken with making sure no cross contamination was an issue.
The staff and the whole visit was a delight and will be coming back with friends soon.
We had champagne afternoon tea at the hotel and it was the best I've ever had. The sandwiches, scones, cakes were amazing. Jasper looked after us and his service was outstanding, he was very professional and extremely helpful and knowledgeable. He even gave us a mini tour of the hotel's facilities and overall made our afternoon very very enjoyable. Many thanks Jasper, we hope to see you again very soon. Colette & Michelle xx
