We were expecting luxury and it surpassed our expectations the quality of everything was outstanding and the service was outstanding i would definately recommend
Be careful not to sit near the doors in winter as otherwise every time it opens a cold breeze hits you. Otherwise, a completely fab afternoon tea!
Very nice. We had a young child with us and they made him very welcome and gave him a fabulous activity pack
Wonderful👌🏾 I will definetivly book an afternoon-tea when i'm back in London. Good food, the service was amazing.
First time ive had afternoon tea in london, my friend has been to many places in london even top hotels but we both were very happy with the experience of the Corinthia hotel. Made to feel at ease and service was excellent. Would definitely recommend to my friends. Thankyou.
Lovely food, excellent service and beautiful surroundings.
The sandwiches were cold from being made earlier in the day and kept in the fridge - other London hotels will make fresh, and as such the quality is much better. The tea menu is also limited by comparison to other locations and is lacking choice. Overall an average and satisfactory afternoon tea, but nothing better than the ordinary.... other than the Bacarrat Champagne flutes which are very nice.
Really lovely Afternoon Tea, delicious cakes and beautiful surroundings - overall it was a wonderful experience for my mums 65th birthday - she loved it!
I was bought a voucher for afternoon tea for two as a birthday gift. The lounge is beautiful and the autumn display was lovely. The sandwiches were cold and the bread slightly damp and soggy. Some of the cakes were bland. If I had not read the T&C saying the table was for 1hr45 I would have wondered why it felt rushed. Would I go again? No. Was the ambience lovely? Yes.
That afternoon tea(in my personal case it was almost 5 o'clock tea and I started feeling a little bit 5 o'clockish long fefore it)was an amazing experience and I would gladly do it over and over again😊😊😊.An exquisite atmosphere produced by a thoroughly thought combination of stunning decor and relaxing live(piano) music couldn't help making a terrific impression on a client. The waiter's(I was served by a helpful and considerate Alessio)presentation of dishes and introducing me to all the stages of this magical ceremony were up to the mark.He kindly answered all of my numerous questions about the ingredients and their names. Moreover,I was never disturbed during making short videos about this wonderful place and this afternoon-tea tradition.I fell in love with the Corinthia and its gorgeous style in everything.Hope to live through this amazing experience over and over again.
P.S.the complementary glass of champagne was a dream come true 😊😊😊
Have been to a few top class hotels for afternoon tea and this one was not as good. The staff were very friendly and there were quite a few of them, not being a tea drinker had to wait some times for a coffee not what I expected and although the chairs and table were lovely we were seated in what I consider a corridor with loads of people walking past on their way to the lifts and my chair was very close to a huge pillar so my view was limited , not good. The best seats were under the absolutely magnificent chandelier but they were set for 4 or more guests and as we were only a two we were seated at the edge of the room, most of the tables in the middle of the room were not used so could not understand why we were seated on the edge of the room, some of the sandwiches were of quite a strong flavour, when I asked for some more was just given 1 , no I won’t be recommending the Corinthian
Very enjoyable. Lovely setting, attentive service, and the piano playing was a nice touch that added to the experience.
Not gluten free friendly at all
The waitress did not know what gluten free options there were
I was very limited and given I had booked in advance and mentioned I needed gluten free options, I expected more of a variety especially because of the price
Excellent afternoon tea! One of my favorite places to go for tea, especially when I have friends or family in town. Service is tops, with very warm and personal service.
Absolutely delightful. My sister and I were thrilled with the service from Claudia and other colleagues. Pianist gently added to the experience. Unhurried, and beautifully done from start to finish.
Delicious food, a lovely atmosphere and superlative service from Giacomo, our waiter.
We enjoyed our experience. Sandwiches and scones were fantastic. The cakes and desserts were ok, not completely to our liking. The service was fantastic, topping up tea whenever they passed. The ambiance and noise level is what let it down the most. As you are seated in what is essentially a foyer, people are passing to and from with cases and bags on a constant basis. It was generally quite noisy because of this, however the beautiful piano playing was a touch of class and well enjoyed by us both.
Service, setting and afternoon tea stunning. highly recommended.
We had been looking forward to afternoon tea for ages. After having dinner in the northall a number of times we knew we loved the venue and the chandelier was certainly a draw. Unfortunately we had afternoon tea at the savoy recently and this set a very high bar. The corinthia came no where near the same standard. The seating area is nice but is a thoroughfare and there you have guests constantly streaming by. Whilst the serving as the theatre of afternoon tea the substance doesn’t live up to it. The savoury offering is good but not enough. With a very reluctant offering of a second serving of sandwiches. The cakes were underwhelming and whilst were visually quite appealing were bland and of a poor standard. Overall I really like the hotel and glad we went but would definitely go to the savoy in future. Such a shame.
Had a wonderful birthday afternoon tea with the family. Service was excellent: attentive but not imposing and they particularly made a lovely fuss over my 6 year-old daughter. Smart yet the right relaxed vibe. Will definitely be back!
This is the second time I have been to the Corinthia for tea this year and I loved it as much as i did the first time. The service is outstanding, the staff are friendly and the afternoon tea itself is by far one of the best in London. The sandwiches are wonderful, the scones and jam are delicious and where do I even begin with all the incredible pastries and desserts. I would highly recommend this tea, it is out of this world.
If you need a break during your shopping day or city visit, or just want to treat yourself, this is definitely the best place to have Tea in London : from the warm welcome to the pampering staff, from the beautiful lobby with its incredible flowers to the art-deco style tableware, from the delicious sandwiches, scones, pastries (and the refill) and the wide choice of teas to the classy but nevertheless cozy vibes, ... You just feel like The Queen (even if you're clearly a simple tourist). I have tried many different " Afternoon tea" places, but I always come back to the Corinthia Hotel.
Delicious food in a beautiful setting, with very attentive staff
Initially we were seated at a minute table in the walkway to the lifts where there was a constant flow of people and luggage. I requested a move to one of the many available tables in the main body of the lounge which was accommodated. The food was generally disappointing and we felt constantly rushed. Most disappointing especially as it was a birthday treat.
Beautiful interior, piano playing, attentive staff, champagne was a generous size and the sandwiches and cakes were really delicious.
The staff- especially Peter- were absolutely amazing! Service couldn’t have been better. Our only criticism is for the dry-ish slightly hard blini. (We prefer a soft pikelet style blini). Otherwise the food was excellent in every way.
We really enjoyed our afternoon tea just felt it slightly lacked atmosphere though the piano music helped. The tea sandwiches cakes and scones were all delicious. We were disappointed our champagne was not served in a crystal flute.
Came here on a Saturday for afternoon tea with two friends. The beautiful airy lounge had a vibrant atmosphere with soft piano music playing in the background. Service was very attentive thanks to a lovely Asian looking man in glasses serving us (forgot to ask his name but he was was exceptional). He took the time to explain each item and was quick to notice when we needed refills. Essentially, the service was what you would expect in a 5* hotel. What I also liked about their service was the flexibility with the drinks- you can have both coffee and tea if you wish with no extra charges levied. Overall I would highly recommend afternoon tea here. They are also sensitive to dietary requirements such as Halal which is also a bonus.
Was an amazing treat, all the food was lovely. What I would say is it’s slightly overpriced for what it is. The sandwiches could have been a better (more expensive tasting) selection but the cakes were perfect. The hot chocolate was a particular favourite!
A beautiful setting, great food, amazing champagne and wonderful staff.
40th Wedding Anniversary
My mother and I enjoyed our afternoon tea. It was a lovely experience. Well recommended.
I really enjoyed our afternoon tea last week. Everyone was very helpful and friendly. My sandwiches were made especially for me as I can’t eat several things. They even made extra in case I wanted more which was very kind and appreciated. Also being able to choose our cakes was good as we could have the ones we liked rather than the ones we were given as my husband doesn’t eat chocolate and sometimes it’s wasteful.
Beautiful hotel and beautiful afternoon tea. This was our first afternoon tea experience. We did the tea with the champagne and it was a fun, delicious and relaxing way to spend an afternoon in London. The hotel and setting is beautiful although we were placed at a small table on the side and I would have prefered a table in the main dining room. Regardless the tea menu was extensive and delicious. The sandwiches, scones and desserts were amazing. We were so full and satisfied when we left. This is not a cheap experience but if you feel like a splurge it's worth it!
I've enjoyed a champagne afternoon tea at The Corinthia on three or four occasions. I think it's the best champagne afternoon tea in London. I've been to other places, including the other 'top' hotels that pride themselves on their afternoon tea, but I've no doubt The Corinthia is the best. It has the best space for it, the best ambience, the service is very good, the food is enjoyable and they serve good quality champagne.
On this particular occasion the service wasn't quite up to the usual high standard. It wasn't as efficient as usual and we occasionally had to remind them that we were still waiting for this or that. Maybe they were one or two staff members short. However, the service is usually absolutely superb and very impressive.
It's not an inexpensive afternoon. Don't go if you're on a budget or trying to cut down on your spending. It's the finest quality champagne afternoon tea in London and you pay accordingly. But if you can afford it, you'll enjoy it.
Everything was perfect, this was a belated wedding anniversary treat for the two of us. My wife had watched a TV program about the hotel and it went to the top of her places to visit. So I booked it and gained some brownie points.
The staff were attentive and helpful and it appeared that there could not be anything that they could not conjure up.
The food was lovely and it was so filling we had to bring some home.
An experience I would recommend to someone looking for something special.
We had a lovely time at the Corinthia Hotel for afternoon tea. Food and service was great. We were there to celebrate my mother’s birthday, the waiter brought out a cake and candle for her which was a lovely touch. Can’t wait to visit again.
Fantastic food and very friendly service - good atmosphere
