A special treat for a birthday, we arrived a little earlier than our booking, but this was not a problem and we were shown to our table. We were allocated a lovely waitress who took us through the Afternoon Tea experience and we went for the champagne option. Lovely heavy glass flutes were filled and our special drinking tea was ordered. We were given a selection of rather lovely sandwiches - all very tasty - with an option for more on completion which we went for which were served to us. We both went for another salmon finger sandwich. Our plates were then renewed and scones arrived in a cute box to keep them warm with clotted cream and two choices of preserve. All yummy. Tea had also arrived which was delicious. We were beginning to struggle but there was a choice of three pastries as part of the afternoon tea, which we did choose, but in all honesty we were stuck and asked the waitress if we could take them home. They were beautifully packaged and handed back to us, but just prior to this, a special plate arrived for my sister with a candle in a rather delicious looking chocolate pastry to wish her a happy birthday. A big surprise for her. I had mentioned this on booking and when we arrived, and un-prompted this was organised by the hotel. Fabulous.
The afternoon tea at the Corinthian is an experience. The beautiful chandelier, the gorgeous china and plates (the story of these was explained to us) You sit in a non restaurant area, but possibly it would have been nice to have had the option to sit at a table rather than the relaxed low chairs, but all other tables were booked, so if you need to sit up better to ask for a table when booking. Also what might be nice is to offer a savoury option to scones (you get two), to balance the sweetness of the afternoon tea experience, or even a savoury afternoon tea.
A once in a lifetime treat.

Very nice place the staff were very friendly and the food was nice but not out of this world, we had high expectations when your paying £120 for afternoon tea. But food the just kept coming so not to bad.

Every morsel was the perfect texture and balance of flavours. I’m not personally a fan of wasabi in egg sandwiches but that might just be me. The chicken sandwich was my fave. The service was very attentive and quick. I might have preferred a slightly more relaxed pace and not to have the tea cup topped up quite so regularly but I guess that was for me to decline. I really liked that a choice of cakes was offered at the end and the unwanted ones taken away. I was also delighted that they allowed us to take a couple of the cakes home with us. It’s a beautiful hotel and lovely tea set.

We had a lovely time and the food was very good along with excellent service.
My only negative comment would be that when the scones arrived for my husband, who is a coeliac, they looked horrible, a pinky grey colour which having seen/made scones many times I thought how is it possible to make scones this colour. My husband did say they tasted far better than they looked so this was good to hear.
Overall we had a good experience.
Thank you.

We had a fabulous time at the Corinthia Hotel on Sunday 3rd March. This was a Christmas present for my Mum and Dad and also to celebrate mine and my sister's birthdays in March. The food was delicious and service was excellent. The only tiny point to make was that where we were sitting there was quite a draft coming through each time the main reception doors opened. Other than that we really enjoyed every minute and would definitely recommend.

Although the service was very good we were disappointed where we sat as it felt like you were in a corridor. We could not fault the food as you could have as much as you wanted. We started with a glass of champagne with our sandwiches and when we were ready for a scones we requested our tea however we had finished the first batch of scones before our tea. Overall enjoyed our afternoon.

Very acceptable Valentine's day experience for myself and my wife. The one big plus point here was privacy. I felt we could have a completely private conversation (unlike say tea at the Dorchester). The decor was very nice too. The scones were excellent and hot and fresh from the oven. However the selection of teas was not great. And my wife wanted a very traditional English tea and they only had fancy ones. Also I didn't understand their policy of serving sandwiches before tea. I was thirsty when I arrived and we had to wait until after the sandwiches for tea. Very bad idea. Also I had to beg them for pastries. Why not just bring it all out at once or at least give us the option. Having said that the service was very good and very attentive. My wife also loved that they gave her a valentines biscuit and rose. Very nice touch. I must say I preferred this experience over the Dorchester. I would recommend.

Absolutely stunning afternoon tea in every way! We went here for my birthday and it is one of the best afternoon teas I have ever had. I have tried most of the top places in London for afternoon tea and I would say this is my favourite. The whole experience was wonderful and the staff were so attentive. The sandwiches were delicious, the scones were amazing and the cakes were just perfect. I could not fault any aspect of this afternoon tea. To top it all off, the decor was simply beautiful!

This was a gift from our daughter. We decided to share it with friends to make it more special. Our booking was for 3.30 pm but we arrived early and our table was ready which was lucky as you only allow 1 1/2 hours for tea. Most other teas are 2 hours. The service was excellent and the food delicious however for the price the 1 1/2 hours allowed is disappointing.

We booked Afternoon Tea at the Corinthia Hotel for a birthday celebration. There we’re 5 in our party.

We were seated on low seating in a U shape made up of 3 sofas, so 2 of us sat on the left sofa, 2 on the bottom sofa and 1 on the right hand sofa with 2 low tables between us, there was way too much distance between the 2 parallel sofas for any form of conversation.

The sandwiches and cakes were nice, however, the scones option was a disappointment- as I don’t like clotted cream I asked for butter which was provided, but it had a terrible taste. The strawberry jam was too runny & sweet and the rhubarb jam had too much cinnamon in it.

When the birthday cake slice was brought out, it was just presented without any accompanying ‘happy birthday’ by the pianist.

We had an ok afternoon but we won’t be returning.

Our favourite place in London for Afternoon Tea is The Savoy and that is where we will go for the next birthday celebration.

I booked afternoon tea as a treat for my husband 's birthday having watched a documentary about the hotel. It was a wonderful experience from start to finish. The floral arrangements were fabulous all shades of pink and red roses and peonies from the in house florist. The ambience was great and ordinary people like ourselves were made to feel special by the impeccable service. The manager, Thomas, was a visible presence and I'm sure the success of his management style will make this hotel shine. The food was all first class and a small explanation given to what ingredients were used. The best afternoon I've ever had

The Afternoon Tea itself was delicious & generous. Service was super. However...the Crystal Moon Lounge is in an open area between two sets of entrance doors. This is unfortunate because 1. it is a thoroughfare for people moving through the hotel, and 2. it was very cold & draughty. We were there on an exceptionally wintery day but these issues would remain whatever the time of year.
We asked to move tables because the first table for two we were given involved sitting with our backs to the central round table...so not facing each other or our table. You couldn’t turn the chair towards the table because the table was such that you couldn’t put your legs underneath it. It doesn’t work and made us feel very much ‘on display’!
