The hotel is absolutely beautiful and the staff are a delight. They went to a great deal of trouble for us and were professional and friendly. My afternoon tea was first class but my friend, who is on a gluten free diet did not have the same variety of breads, or cakes and she was a bit disappointed. I appreciate that afternoon tea is not the best meal to choose under these circumstances but I did feel that as her scones were half the size of mine, she could have been given a couple more. I was impressed that they gave us two pots of clotted cream and jams, so that there would be no cross contamination. I would definitely recommend afternoon tea at the Corinth to my other friends and will be back.

Absolutely wonderful experience. Eva, our waitress for the afternoon, was lovely and made the experience even more memorable. The food was spectacular and the venue itself is so lovely, you could literally sit happily for hours. Can’t wait to go back!!!

Good service and food. Disappointed with sitting in a busy passageway and being presented with a bill which was significantly above what is advertised. £135 for 2 afternoon teas, one with champagne, one without!

Firstly, not particularly impressed with Opentable as my booking was not known at the hotel, although I did have a confirmation email about the booking from Opentable, so a lack of communication somewhere. In future I would telephone the venue directly. Afternoon tea was very nice and the venue very nice however I think some staff need more training - I do not expect a waitress to tell me I'm drinking my champagne quickly nor to sniff the teapot to ascertain if she brought the correct flavour of tea! I would still recommend afternoon tea here as I may have just been unlucky on my first visit.

Excellent service and quality of food in wonderful surroundings with the advantage of a live pianist. This is not cheap especially if you add champagne but for special occasions I would highly recommend. The food was excellent but the cakes/patisseries were out of this world.

Excellent location, with my grand daughter and I placed on a central table for four, which provided plenty of space. The cakes and scones were excellent, with the sandwiches close behind. I will commence a Cunard World cruise this Thursday, and will take afternoon tea every day for three months, so I will expect to make favourable comparisons, and will visit you again, when I return in April. I asked whether I could view one of your standard rooms, but on this occasion you were too busy. Next time, perhaps.

Fantastic service. Wonderful scones
This is an expensive tea- £75 per head to include 1 glass of champagne. In truth the sandwiches were not great and the cakes were in my opinion a bit disappointing.
The scones were very nice
The ambiance is wonderful
But I do think there are better places to have tea- so would not recommend. For £75 per head it should be fantastic and it simply was not. Lovely but not fantastic

Overall not happy with afternoon tea here, we had a table near the revolving doors we were cold, had no menu’s in the end we had to ask, we would have liked a few more sandwiches but were not asked and not sure if we could have more, scones were served in a napkin not the boxes, pastries were set on a cake stand by our table on individual plates, waited for someone to clear our scone plates, no one did, we had to collect them up and put them on a side table ourselves, then serve our own pastries, was not special at all. We paid 85.00 each and quite frankly it was nowhere near worth the money

We had afternoon tea here recently, it was fabulous albeit our table was on the outside of the main seating area so we felt like we were in a bit of a thoroughfare. Service was great and the sandwiches and cakes were pretty amazing! Quite pricey so save this for a special occasion!

Afternoon tea was good great service and pastries delightful. If being picky; some of bread was dry and not enough jam or cream brought to table to serve 4 , did ask for more cream and provided but not asked if more jam was needed - expect this to be noted by server. Although the majority of people love alcohol in food I thought the Christmas cake had too much brandy and couldn't eat it. Overall good value for money but not in my top 5 for afternoon tea in London .

I like the contemporary approach to afternoon tea. On balance, would recommend it. The hotel is wonderful without being ostentatious and the tea experience hasn’t got all the stuffiness of other venues. Excellent choice of teas and I believe set to improve shortly with a new tea sommelier. Portion sizes were good for the sandwiches and the various cakes devilishly delicious. The service started out well but then the service disappeared halfway through the scones and clotted cream and there was a moment of confusion around the transition to the cakes and whether or not to take or keep the plates. I also only got my second pot of tea as I finished the (somewhat dry) Xmas cake, ie at the end of the sitting. That said, would recommend the experience and would certainly consider again.

It was overall a lovely experience. Our host - I believe she said she is Kurdish- was accommodating and caring.
The ambience could have been more Christmassy and less noisy. When you enter a hotel of such history and reputation you would have expected more quality and comfort.
It would have been nicer if staff were smiling more..
It was the 31st December and the place was busy, a smile however it’s a sign of calm professionalism and confidence. Only two members of staff took the extra mile; the doorman and our host.
Tea was amazing, there is a wide variety and selection. I went for the Oolong Milk which is my favourite. I also tried vanilla and Jasmin green. All were good quality served in beautiful fine China.
The taste of Sandwiches was everything one wants from a sandwich without being boring, dry or heavy. Subtle, fresh and palatable, a great start
Scones and marmalades appeared to be average and plain. In term of taste and appearance. Nothing exquisite or impressive.
The cakes on the contrary were tiny pieces of art. Balanced flavours, colourful bites of joy!
Most luxurious afternoon tea? Could have been!
Would I go back? Absolutely!

Fun experience, great service and luxury surroundings, food was good but not stunning, tea leaves blended for you was a great concept. We had a great anniversary, but afternoon tea at the Four Seasons on Trinity Square has a better vibe and better food, perfect service, for less money.

Afternoon tea at the Corinthia was outstanding. The sandwiches were delicious with a great range of fillings. My wife had special dietary requirements which staff dealt with very efficiently. We loved the warm scones and the jam was superb. The cakes were exquisite. Service was excellent. We even spoke to the pianist on our way out who was really friendly. The Corinthia has set the bar very high for other hotels. Highly recommended.

The Corinthia’s Crystal Moon Lounge is a beautiful setting for Afternoon Tea. The seating is very comfortable however it is rather cold. The doors at either end are constantly opening and closing and at the Whitehall Place entrance, it was regularly held open for several minutes at a time. (This also allowed smoke to drift in when someone seemed to be standing at the door smoking a pipe/cigar).As a result, the place never became warm.
The sandwiches and scones were delicious and the cakes were also quite special. The grapefruit compote doesn’t really work but everything else was marvellous. One of our party had the hot chocolate which came with generous amounts of toppings.
The staff were very pleasant and overall it was an enjoyable experience. Perhaps it might be perfect in the summer.

After seeing the programme on the BBC it attracted me to book the experience for me and my partner as part of his Christmas present. The afternoon tea area was lovely, beautiful decor, lovely chandalier and great atmosphere. The pianist was amazing, playing all types of music from classical, soul, to modern day music. The afternoon tea was presented very well and also tasted very good. I was also happy with the vegetarian sandwich option which is quite rare in some places. We were offered additional sandwiches and tea topups, the service was great and very friendly. The only reason I rated it 4 star was for 2 reasons, although the seats looked great we found them not to be very comfortable and would have preferred some arm rests, this is probably more of a personal prefernce. The second reason was the draft from the entrance whenever someone entered or left of the hotel, this would not have affected everyone only those (like us) that are seated near the entrance/exit of the afternoon tea area or the middle near the chandelier. With this in mind the experience was not as relaxing as we may have hoped.

My wife and I were visiting London to catch up with some friends. We decided to book a table at the Corinthia Hotel for a high Tea. The hotel was beautiful inside. Our waitress was amazing. She was super friendly and helpful. She explained the menu and the variety of teas in details.

Needless to say, we had an amazing afternoon of catching up in beautiful surroundings. I would highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a nice place to eat, stay or indulge in high tea as we did. Thank you to the Corinthia Hotel.

Charming service from the moment we arrived. The waiter recommended a tea for my mother which she really enjoyed. The sandwich fillings were traditional but with an inventive spin. The egg and truffle sandwich was a highlight. All the cakes were beautifully designed and delicious. There was a tasty fruity thing in a glass but I think they should have provided a spoon for it. The only thing I didn't like was the marshmallow. The room had elegant Christmas decorations and the pianist played Christmas tunes which made for a pleasant festive atmosphere but not over the top. The side table on which they put the teapots needs a mat on it. Overall it was lovely treat and my mother felt very special.

Amazing experience and lovely, attentive staff and stunning setting. It was our first experience of an afternoon tea and the sever was patient and explained how it worked and recommended a lovely tea to go with the amazing food. We went before an evening show I had booked for my parents for Christmas so we were dressed up but could easily have fitted in in smart/casual attire. Overall an unforgettable experience which the 3 of us thoroughly enjoyed, lovely piano playing in the background added to the ambiance. Would highly recommend The Corinthia to anybody wishing to have an afternoon tea, whether it be your first time or for experienced diners.
