It was a 50th birthday surprise afternoon tea which was just soo beautiful. We had an amazing time we had 2 other unexpected guests and the staff were soo accommodating really appreciated their hospitality.

We booked the afternoon tea for a baby shower. The experience was wonderful. Many people agreed they would definitely be coming back. The staff were so attentive and polite. No request was trouble. There was only one disappointment - everyone would have preferred more sandwiches and less sweets. Other than that it was an amazing experience. Would recommend 💯. We all felt very special ‼️

Not worth the money. Food was soggy and the bread tasted stale. I was a bit neglected by the staff but saw multiple staff members chatting with each other upstairs when we walked up to leave. I wouldn’t have minded but we paid £25pp so expected something a little bit better than what we experienced. Will not be coming again. The banoffee pie cake was amazing though.

They charge you 12.5% service charge but the service was non existent. We were downstairs and I think they just forgotten about us. The food was just OK. Poor value for money

Experience was good Food was ok, their was a hair in one of the chocolate pastries Once we were served no one came down to check on us sat there for a while waiting for someone bring us check or tell us where to pay we finally went upstairs and paid but no one ever told us the process of paying

I enjoyed having afternoon tea at EL&N Lowndes Street! The tea and food was delicious and the staff were very friendly and kind. The Cafe is so beautifully designed and decorated and it was a peaceful environment. I will definitely be coming back again!! 😃🤩❤️

We didn’t have the best experience of El & B sadly, I had booked an afternoon tea for my mum as a a birthday treat. When we arrived we were taken downstairs into the basement where there was no body else sat and they had ‘works’ going on. There was plenty of seating upstairs which wasn’t too busy and had a friendlier atmosphere than where we were placed. Anyway we were seated and told to select between two drink items, which as you can guess didn’t take long to decide, however it had taken a server over 10 minutes to return to ask us for our drink choice despite there being less than 14 customers upstairs. We received our drinks promptly after this which was good and then shortly our food. The portion sizes however was slightly disappointing for the price, the sandwich selection the size of macaroons, but we understood were in London and this is expected. What wasn’t expected though was the gentlemen carrying out works began using loud equipment such as a drill and industrial hoover which ruined the whole experience. We could hardly hear each other talking and a waitress didn’t attend to our table until we had nearly finished the food and asked then if we wanted to move after frequenting past our table to get to their kitchen, so they were well aware of the level of the noise. There was no contact made prior to my booking about works taking place nor were we offered another table when we arrived despite the staff having knowledge on the type of works taking place. Following our experience I would not return to an El & B cafe nor would I recommend it to any friends or family following this oversight and disregard for our experience from staff

Food was way better than expected and for £22.50 per person it was well worth it and affordable for London. I’m vegetarian, had a pescatarian and allergen friend and everything was well accommodated. Was expecting it to be super full busy and loud but was quiet and peaceful at least when we went. Seating was also super pretty too

Staff were not very attentive, had to keep calling over and when we asked questions they couldn’t answer. Was very quiet on a Saturday, maybe that’s why. Food was good and looked very pretty.

Having read some past reviews I wasn’t sure what to expect. Afternoon tea was a surprise for my Granddaughters 18th birthday. I was pleasantly surprised! We had a lovely table as requested. The afternoon tea was beautifully presented with a good variety of sandwiches and cakes and the obligatory scones and clotted cream. Tea and coffees were topped up throughout and the staff were attentive to our requests.I would recommend afternoon tea, just be prepared for London prices.

Extremely poor service . The restaurant wasn’t over busy but still couldn’t give the service that should be given . It was dirty . Drinks selected didn’t come for over 30 minutes. Some drinks ordered after the 30 minutes waiting we were told they had sold out . Such a bad experience.

Worst afternoon experience ever … The food was lovely and the two staff serving us were also lovely - However the manager was rude & whilst we were having afternoon tea next to us was a photo shoot and then on the other side was a staff seminar on food safety happening. The manager seemed to think this was ok !!!!!! Do not go here If you want afternoon tea in London !!!!!

This place has a GREAT setting, food FANTASTIC and prices reasonable. we had booked afternoon tea and could not fault any item on the menu and so well presented. However the service needs working on, out of 5 staff I saw only 1 double checked we were ok and if we needed anything more. On arrival no one welcomed us in and we were left to stand waiting until the helpful staff member asked if we had a booking. The staff member dealing with the tables was dragged away by another staff member and told if you have nothing to do leave here I need your help upstairs however they were there to assist the seated tables so they did have things to do. 12.5% service charge was added to the bill which is very steep as usual service charge would be 10% and voluntary. They however remove it when I asked and I could leave my own tip.

Had been before and decided on normal menu rather than afternoon tea as originally booked for, they said no problem, this visit it was a massive issue and we were not allowed as it would be classed as a no show and we would be charged…….. Called earlier in week to request a floral booth for afternoon tea after booked on-line at 1.30pm, told would have to come in at 12 as not available at half 1, we didn’t leave until 2.40 so clearly it was free and we didn’t need to move it back to 12, Table was all smeared as not cleaned properly, we ended up having to order food via the app after our afternoon tea as no waitress attended to us for so long, It’s a shame there is no cloak room for big coats as there is little space to place them at your booth or table

Forced to choose a £70 afternoon tea for 2, when we had originally booked the £50 one. Weren’t allowed to look at the main menu and choose from there instead, although everyone else around us was. The amount of food you get for the afternoon tea was minimal. The sandwich’s were TINY, like a 50p size and not a triangle. I was allowed to swap my coffee/tea for one Diet Coke, anything else I would have to pay extra for. The overall experience was disappointing, especially when we had booked 6 months ago and was looking forward to the EL&n high end experience. It wasn’t what I thought it would be and wouldn’t recommend to anyone. Wished we had gone somewhere else and got more for our money.

I had my afternoon tea here. Initially the receptionist had told me to choose to sit wherever I liked. I chose a pink table which she told me that it was only for 11 people so I chose another green table next to it. Later, I saw only 4 white people which were the same numbers as mine got that table. Why is there a white privilege even though we paid the same price with advance booking?

Bad service, they charging you to pay 78$ for 2 people and didn’t write this in the booking. Then when we knew it they said it cost 24$ to cancelled and the place was empty!!! Never go back there.

I have been for my first time at EL&N, following the hype of a great experience to try We paid £78 for a Brunch (afternoon tea) that to be honest is not worth that price Couple of little sandwiches each To many cake mignon - around 10 pieces each Also a bit of a deception having booked via Open table where it is not reported that when you book the afternoon tea you have to have this pre prepared menu Service was poor and cleanliness of place (tables in particular) is to be largely improved

We had the Fairytale of EL&N afternoon tea and it was outstanding. The finger sandwiches were delicious and the desserts were so cute and tasty. The service was excellent and friendly. I highly recommend it if you would like to get all the Christmas vibes.
