Afternoon Tea at Eynsham Hall
A decadent treat.
Served in the grandeur of the
main hall in winter or on the
southwest-facing champagne terrace
in summer - with or without
You’ll need no supper.
Fantastic atmosphere, great selection of sandwiches and cakes. Super food & environment,
I thought it was very expensive for 4 finger sandwiches each, one scone each and 4 very tiny cakes each! Plus tea and one glass of Prosecco- £29.50. There were very few tables at the correct height - some people were bent down at coffee tables.
What a beautiful place. We had a lovely time. Delicious food and great ambiance.
Thank you to Bruno, who was so kind to our son. He made the experience special.
I had a very enjoyable time at Eynsham Hall at a lovely venue. The grounds were beautiful and very well maintained. The food was delicious and plentiful and the service was very good and attentive.
Amount of food was just right..
When asked if we had any dietry requirements we all said - no fish please. But this was only understood as only one of us didn't want fish - so when the meal was recieved there were fish sandwiches for 3. As I didn't want to make a scene (outing was a treat for family), I took all of the fish choice (I have no allergy).... just not a prefference.
I had a voucher for afternoon tea as a gift and thoroughly enjoyed it! The room was a little busy as there was a wedding on that day and the chairs/ tables not easy to eat at but overall the food and service was excellent.
Arrived at Eynsham Hall by driving down the drive way to be greeted by the view of the hall in all it's grandure. At the reception I was directed to the gun room where tea was being served. Coffee or teas are your choice of beverage, which arrived nice and hot and remained so throughout tea. The sandwiches were nice and chumky finger cut filled with smoked salmon, egg mayonaise, cream cheese and spring onion and also ham, tomato and mustard. For sweet you have scones with cream and jam, you also get a selection of small cakes that are delicious. It is best if you do not eat before going to tea or you will find that you will not finish what is served to you. All in all a lovely tea and well worth the price.
The house and grounds were amazing, the staff were very polite and helpful, we were seated in the bar area, would of preferred to have sat outside or the restaurant as I don’t like eating at a low table ( personal preference) Now for the food.... my sandwiches (the bread) was quite dry, I did not say anything and I’m sure that if I had of done they would have changed them probably to more dry bread??plenty of small cakes and a cream scone. Can’t quite put my finger on it but it was not as enjoyable as elsewhere, a very known high street chain. Nice but not fantastic, someone on next table has fish and chips, looked amazing.
Afternoon tea was lovely! I organised this for a friends birthday - it was lovely and we really enjoyed it. The only thing i would suggestion is to seat guests on seated table and chairs not the sofas and low table. It makes it difficult to eat when you're bending down.
We had a lovely afternoon tea for my birthday. It was delicious.
Sandwiches and scones excellent. Cakes over sweet for our taste. Ate on the terrace with lovely view of garden. Service attentive without intrusion. Enjoyed walk in gardens afterwards.
Brought this as a gift for my parents Anniversary, they were amazing really looked after them and made it a very special treat. Would high recommend this .
Very very good but only one other couple there so felt a little bit awkward at times - our servers were fantastic! Very very happy overall! Had a lovely lovely time xxx
Wonderful surroundings, excellent value. We took home extras that we couldn't finish, that has NEVER happened before!
My husband and I enjoyed it immensely. We walked round the back and would have stayed longer if it wasn't for his bad back we will return later in the year
Poor waiter service; phrases such as “one jam between two because it’s expensive” and “it’s easier for the chef” as well as having to convince the waiter that the table had booked a champagne cream team and not standard.
Overall would return as it was good setting, ambiance but one waiter was a fly in the ointment but determined not to let it spoil the whole event.
It was booked for my father's birthday. We arrived on a very sunny warm day, to find we were inside. We asked to sit outside which wasn't taken too well.
Once outside, the service was reasonable to start with. Then my father who is 83 fell over which was very traumatic for him. This happened by the low step.
I regarding the food, sandwiches where tasteless and we had to ask for more as two grown men would still be hungry.
The price did not reflect the afternoon tea. I have been to other afternoon teas and I would not recommend this. We are local residents and I was very disappointed. For £67.50 it was not worth it.
We had a delicious afternoon tea on Good Friday with the children's eat free offer. There was plenty of lovely cake and sandwiches and we were able to take home what we couldn't eat. The bottomless tea was also much appreciated! It was just a shame it took so long to pay at the end as there was only one lady who could take the payment and she got held up in the kitchen. Besides that it was a wonderful way to spend a girly afternoon with my daughter.
For 2 adults and free for children (mine who's 8) cost £60 where the sandwiches weren't fresh and dessert were dry, tea pot in tin and had to wait for quite some time to be sitted due to the waitress was chatting with people. Not a good experience
It was okay. I don’t think it’s anything special. For the price that we paid. It was basically silent and uncomfortable. The waiters and waitresses weren’t very friendly. The only thing that made it seem good was the location. I was pretty disappointed.
Overall a really nice experience. If the staff were a bit more attentive it would have been even better.
Best afternoon tea I've ever had. Lovely setting, friendly staff and incredible tasting food. Would highly recommend.
The food was delicious and well presented. But oh! for a white table cloth to really make the
occasion special, which afternoon tea usually is. Some vases of flowers around to set the scene
would be lovely.
It was a nice restaurant and the food was tasty. When we first started eating 4 different staff asked how things were all within moments of each other. However, after this we were very much left on our own and had to go searching for staff when we wanted the bill.
Beautiful building and tea room. Service ok, but tea not replenished or hot water offered, no skim milk. Sandwiches obviously had been standing around for a while, as bread curling at corners.
We had a nice time as family celebration, but service didn’t make us feel particularly special, and I wouldn’t say it was great value for money in terms of food/drink quality.
The afternoon tea was beautifully presented and the cakes looked exquisite although, personally, we both preferred more sandwiches and fewer cakes. This may not be the case with everyone though. The bar room was pleasant enough in the very old, interesting house and the bar man kindly provided fizz for my daughter’s birthday celebration, a lovely touch! The only part for us that disappointed, was the lack of spa facilities as we tried to combine the two, this was out-dated and in two separate buildings( treatments and pool area). However I hear this is all being renewed early next year ( it would be good to adjoin the buildings) and this will improve the whole experience massively. It is such a beautiful place, immaculate grounds and well advised to get this particular area improved. We will definitely return to see the results!
Excellent experience, great service and a calming serene atmosphere. Our server very kindly upon finding out it was a birthday surprised us with free champagne and a birthday cupcake.
The staff were slow to serve and not that welcoming. It was confusing to know what was going on. Waited a while for food. There was a bug on a cake. Very expensive for very little . Children liked it but wouldn't recommend it to anyone.
Great service and lovely staff without being too attentive! Lovely ambiance at the hall and would definitely recommend and return
One of my favourite afternoon teas and I’ve been on a few! Wonderful service, food and atmosphere 🥰
Was disapointed with the quality of the afternoon tea. The bread for the sandwiches wasn't freash and they gave the impression they has been made alot earlier in the day, as they were on the dry side.
The scones were good but the pastries were sickly, and thats coming from someone with a sweet tooth. They didn't compliment each other and my partener struggled to finish a single one.
The staff were friendly and attentive.
The staff were polite and attentive. The food was beautifully displayed and was delicious. The only comment I would make is that I would prefer the cakes served without the generous topping of patisserie creme as it made them too rich. The setting is stunning and made the event memorable.
Beautiful setting and amazing home made cakes. Tea was free-flowing with a great range. Staff were really friendly and accommodating. Would definitely go again
I arranged this as a Birthday surprise for my Mother, which she thoroughly enjoyed. There is just one thing that upset me which was that i paid for it back in October when I made the booking but was very surprised to receive the bill at the end of having our tea. I did show them my bank statement to prove I had already paid, but I don't think this should ever have happened!
It was very good - would have preferred less cake and more savouries - we had a great time, and I was given a glass of pink fizz, as it was my birthday - did struggle to get out of the door, due to a huge, noisy Christmas dinner crowd - we did want to sit by the fire with a drink for a while, but impossible, as it was heaving
We visited Eynsham Hall for the Festive afternoon tea and thoroughly enjoyed our visit. The afternoon tea was beautifully presented and all tasted exquisite.
We would highly recommend anyone wishing to have an enjoyable afternoon tea experience.
Lovely location, attentive and polite staff, wonderful gluten free option for afternoon tea. We had a lovely time!
Will definitely be back!
The room we were expected to dine in was very cold and stark. We asked to move to the bar which was accommodated.
The food whilst perfectly acceptable was nothing special. For the best part of £30 we perhaps expected more than egg, cheese and ham sandwiches. The Christmas decorations were very tasteful and the hall setting is stunning, but some areas inside were a little tired.
Lovely food, great place, shame about the service. Eynsham Hall is a beautiful setting.
