We arrived and they said we dont have a booking and made us wait for 15 mins to get a table , then the service was so slow and they were not friendly .
Graduation weekend daughter. They even made a special plate with congratulations. Very nice
We loved everything about our tea at Jean-Georges. It was beautifully prepared and served. The staff were busy but found enough time to check on us and replenish our plates and tea cups with anything we requested. We did not sit out on the porch, but had a very cozy and romantic booth inside. It was wonderful. The Chocolate fondue was the icing on the cake, so they say. Loved everything from the scones to the tasty desserts. We had a reservation and it was required. We walked from our hotel in Mayfair, the JW Marriott Grosvenor House.
I would highly recommend.
Everything was excellent
Had afternoon tea. Food was great, Service less so. Poured the wrong champagne. Initially poured the wrong tea. Asked one in the party if they wanted another pot of tea, the response was yes, however the requested pot never appeared. Despite making a reservation almost a month in advance, the hostess attempted to seat our party at a table in what appeared to be the highest traffic area in the restaurant. It would have been like having tea in a hallway with people constantly coming back and forth. Staff did move us when a request was made. Enjoyed the experience but it could have been better.
I was highly disappointed in our dining experience. For Jean George, I would not recommend this at all.
Very good food
Excellent service with one of the top Tea Menu’s in London.
We had a delightful afternoon and left quite happy. The lovely ambience and service put us in a great mood!
I wanted to treat my mum to a special afternoon, we got everything I hoped for and more. The Connaught is a beautiful setting, even nicer in real life than from the images. The sandwiches were really delicious and so was the tea. The cakes were beautiful and perfectly balanced, I was amazed they were not too sweet! The scones were perfection. Upmarket places can sometimes let themselves down by delivering a lesser service or being a bit stuck up, but we were made to feel very welcome and the service was really flawless. I would and I will highly recommend high tea at Jean-Georges at the Connaught. We thoroughly enjoyed every minute of our experience. Thank you.
It was amazing
Lovely upmarket restaurant. But really too expensive for what you get for afternoon tea. Would have received 4 stars if it was more reasonably priced. Good service as well. Food was average
We had a wonderful afternoon tea experience.
Had a lovely afternoon tea at the Jean-George.
Fantastic enviroment, and helpful staff.
Quite expensive, but worth it!
Tablet settings were crowded and literally right next to other customers. Tea was just okay. Pastries were excellent. Service was good but not exceptional.
Excellent food, staffs and atmosphere.
Was very bad service and poor not professional, took a long time to serve the food , although I had the reservation but I wait and did not got the table outside and there was an empty tables
I loved it!! It was wonderful!! The food is delicious. I had afternoon tea and I had wonderful time with my friends!
Top-rate afternoon tea experience. The OpenTable write-up had us a litle bit nervous, but as it turned out, it was pretty traditional tea from a menu standpoint but with top-notch food and a creative flair. Very much worth the price tag (it’s expensive), but the food and the setting make it worth the money.
Lovely. The dessert is awesome!!!
Outstanding location for afternoon tea. Food and service was exceptional.
Tea was not loose leaf. China appeared average. Although the finger sandwiches and pastries were great, it is definitely not worth the price tag of £55 per person. They did not offer to provide additional hot water or refills on tea.
The new look to the restaurant completely jars with the rest of the hotel. It’s as if the designer has gone how can we make this space look like something from the 1960’s but give it a contemporary twist. I don’t actually mind the look and feel of it but it’s completely incongruous to the rest of the hotel.
With regards to the updated menu then all I can say to that is it’s a very lazy menu.
If you take the sandwich menu it’s very uninspiring. Three of the 5 sandwiches contain mayonnaise and two are on bread containing nuts. I’m sorry but with so many people having but allergies this is very bad. Mayonnaise in sandwiches is a pet hate of mind. Partly because I can’t eat it without becoming ill and partly because it allows for ingredients to be kept moist when they’re not 100% fresh. The restaurant accommodated my no mayo request but all of the sandwiches came out on white bread. The rest of my family had the standard range. None of the sandwiches were particularly fresh with the sandwiches clearly being made well in advance.
Now I’ll turn to the pastries. Three out of the five all contained nuts. I go back to my comment about nuts! Some of the pastries were nice and they were all presented beautifully but even these just didn’t really look overly fresh.
The last point to raise on the food front is the scones. They looked amazing and were served with very delicious strawberry purée and a very tasty lemon curd. Good clotted cream has almost a buttery golden glow. The clotted cream with the scones (which had too much bicarbonate of soda in them to make them rise) was more like stiffly whipped double cream. In fact the clotted cream was almost pouring consistency.
Overall disappointing. The menu hasn’t changed for the better. The standard has dropped significantly since I was there last. This no longer represents value for money.
Bes afternoon tea. Delicate but not girly with great service and atmosphere
I had booked 2 days before and requested a table by the window. I was disappointed after the receptionist told me window tables were fully booked! Other wise all else was good.
Best high tea i had so far in london. Such a great treat! Highly recommended.
We had an amazing experience! The food was fantastic, and the great service was great too! Will be back next time I visit London!
Can’t fault the experience even if the service was, at times, over the top.
I don’t normally complain when you have too much service but it was the only vaguely negative feedback I could give for what was a great afternoon tea with friends.
The comment about the service was the uncoordinated approach between the staff. We were asked the same questions by multiple staff within about 3 minutes of each other. It was a bit annoying and once our table host knew he stood everyone else down. It’s a silly thing but when you are enjoying the company you don’t want to be interrupted all the time.
Absolutely amazing & perfect - go...!!!
The food was expensive for what we got. Service had a lot to be desired for with some staff forgetting to bring tea even thought we asked a number of times. Lovely decor and had drinks at bar previously but unsure re food service
Very happy with our afternoon tea, we were a bit late to the table as their lunch patrons didn't want to leave but we had a great experience, great service and very yummy food!
the service and food impeccable we had afternoon tea and it was superb
