Our afternoon tea was booked at the Mayfair to celebrate our anniversary. The service, food and venue where we stayed for 2 nights was fabulous. The afternoon tea itself was delicious and plentiful, staff were attentive and our anniversary was recognised with a chocolate plate. Would recommend visiting!
Tea was not hot so needed to be replaced. Not sure about the chocolate scone......didn't really work. The Lemon scone was delicious however. I felt the bread on the salmon sandwich was hard and dry.
Went to celebrate our daughter's 18th Birthday. Janos was very attentive and we were made to feel special!! They also made a special birthday message with a cake.
Perfect afternoon at the May Fair. Afternoon tea was delicious, service was outstanding, wouldn’t of changed a thing! Huge thanks to Josh for making the day so lovely, he was absolutely perfect and made the experience that extra bit special.
Great Afternoon Tea : Chocolate themed-what can go wrong?
Outstanding tea service. What was exceptional was the ability for one person in our party to order off the lunch menu vs. tea (like the rest of our party). The lunch -- the chorizo, grilled shrimp, and duck salad -- were outstanding. Everyone got what they wanted, and were extremely pleased with the service.
the taste is really good, and staff are so kind😃
We spent really nice afternoon tea!
Beautiful hotel, very attentive staff and lovely tea. Gold 🌟.
Lovely experience especially with tween kids. Food especially the savory items were delectable. Recommend the champagne add on.
Terrible experience, terrible service. Will be contacting the May Fair directly to raise my concerns. Not worth the money and would not recommend to anyone based on my experience.
The food was good, although the sandwiches could have been fresher, but the real challenge with afternoon tea at the May Fair is getting tea. The service was poor and there was a very long wait, with frequent mix-ups, whenever we needed another pot of tea or glass of champagne.
Scones were very strange tasting. Waiters handled well and gave us a glass of bubbles on them.
This was a great experience, and we got very good service by Janos.
Food was amazing, with unlimited scones and sandwiches! When we first arrived, the service received was excellent. A few of the waiters were checking with us frequently, but not so frequent that we felt disturbed, just to make sure we had everything we needed and never leaving any of the plates empty! However, they must've changed shift, after an hour or so, the waiters/waitresses were all different, and I have to say they weren't very good any more. One waitress in particular, she didn't seem to understand what we were asking for, even they were simple things. She just didn't know what she was doing!
Amazing afternoon tea ! They were so accommodating even with our 7 month old baby . Food was fabulous and so were the staff , we all had an amazing time and would definitely come back
Excellent afternoon tea, the only slight issue was that the Hotel did not have our booking, despite booking and receiving confirmation by Open Table. Restaurant quickly rectified the problem and a table arranged for us.
Attentive staff and lovely food.
It was very loud and the food was less than average . The sandwiches were hard as if they had been left out in the open for a few hours and not freshly made , the donuts were definitely not fresh either.
The service was good and the staff friendly but everything else was less than average unfortunately
Fantastic service. Hot drinks were lukewarm and took far too long to arrive once ordered.
Other than that, dietary requirements were catered to but would have given 5 stars if they had halal options!
Good venue with nice decor and great service from Yanos and Karine!
Very good, would definitely return and possibly even stay at the Mayfair hotel.
We were impressed with the service, all staff were very attentive and professional. The food was very good, nice selection of sandwiches, with the option of more if we wanted. Lovely lemon, and chocolate chip scones that we light and tasty, which we had seconds of! I would highly recommend!!
Great experience from start to finish. Lovely restaurant with great staff, food was excellent and replenished when low. Delicious drinks and fantastic staff who were friendly and helpful, constantly checking to make sure everything was good! Would highly recommend
We had afternoon tea at the May Fair Hotel and had a great time! Food was good, especially value for money! Staff were extra attentive and made sure our coffee/tea was always full. Would highly recommend.
We thoroughly enjoyed our afternoon tea, which was in conjunction with Charbonnel and Walker. Chocolate chip scones, chocolate cakes and chocolate truffles. We were offered extra sandwiches and we could have taken the leftover food with us. One of our party requested vegetarian and gluten-free afternoon tea, which was delicious.
We had Charbonnel et Walker afternoon. Good value for money. You can change your drinks as expected for afternoon tea but you can only ask for extra sandwich but nothing else. The scones are fluffy & soft. Their marmalade is very special served with chattily cream. The Charbonnel et Walker was exceptional but the doughnut was a bit dry. Overall it was a good experience & all staff are very friendly and helpful.
Loved The Mayfair kitchen.... great service and the high tea was wonderful.
Lovely chocolate inspired afternoon tea, scones were a tad dry but still tasty. Staff were super friendly and attentive. All in all a lovely experience.
We recently visited for afternoon tea. While the restaurant had a cool industrial vibe, it was not necessarily the ambiance for an afternoon tea. The food was good but the service was very slow. 15 minutes after being seated we still had nothing to drink. About 10 minutes after the food had arrived, we finally grabbed someone walking by to ask for water and the actual tea. For the price, would expect a more attentive staff.
Great place for high tea in London ! They accommodated our family (5) and we had a free bottle of Proseco. It was lovely. Chocolate themed - if you like chocolate - this is the place for high tea.
A birthday treat for my wife which was well received. The range of food was excellent, made all the better by excellent service from attentive staff. Despite being very busy (New Year's Day), we were both very happy with the experience and would definitely return and also recommend to friends and family.
Excellent value and the complimentary bottle of Prosecco, courtesy of Open Table, rounded off a wonderful afternoon!
Would not return. Poor food quality for an expensive price.
And despite complaints, still charged full price!
Good experience of transitional English high tea with a free bottle of Prosecco.
Really enjoyed their chocolate tea offering! The selection of sandwiches, scones & pastries is inventive & well put together. It all tasted delicious (for me especially the beef sandwich, chocolate scone, brownie & Charbonnel truffles)! Free top ups are great too.
Brilliant afternoon tea, staff were accommodating and were kind enough to alter the menu for me as I am a vegetarian. Food was delicious and I will definitely be going back!
A real revelation as I wasn’t expecting such a lovely experience. Quiet and peaceful, but far from lacking in atmosphere, the decor and restaurant overall were in extremely good taste with beautiful surroundings. The service was absolutely second to none, quite the best I have received. Staff were friendly, helpful, made us feel really welcome and appreciated, and were extremely attentive. In particular, mention must be made of our waiter Janos, who was courtesy himself and made the visit for us. I was also very surprised and happy to be offered a free bottle of Prosecco (worth £44) as an offer as I had booked through OpenTable. This really made the event for us. The afternoon tea itself was exquisite, although I could not give it an exceptional rating, that was only in comparison to some that I have had and because the rating called for it to be exceptional. It was delicious, and it was unusual and welcome to be able to have unlimited drinks and also extras of any of the courses. For a central London location and a special treat, this was really good value for money and I would most definitely recommend it, especially for a special occasion. We will most definitely be coming back, an absolute winner - many thanks!
the service was reasonable, but the ambiance was certainly not for an afternoon tea - more like for a quick lunch.
Very friendly and helpful staff. Food is ok too.
The service is just perfect, everyone is so kind and efficient, but the noise is just too much. The waitress has to bent the knee to speak to the customer. The tea was excellent, as the sandwiches, but the desserts were too much sweet or very dry. Didn't like them. And the price is excessive.
All the staff are so Approachable and friendly when we arrived till we leave. We enjoyed very much, very nice ambience too.
