Very good, would definitely return and possibly even stay at the Mayfair hotel.
We were impressed with the service, all staff were very attentive and professional. The food was very good, nice selection of sandwiches, with the option of more if we wanted. Lovely lemon, and chocolate chip scones that we light and tasty, which we had seconds of! I would highly recommend!!
Great experience from start to finish. Lovely restaurant with great staff, food was excellent and replenished when low. Delicious drinks and fantastic staff who were friendly and helpful, constantly checking to make sure everything was good! Would highly recommend
We had afternoon tea at the May Fair Hotel and had a great time! Food was good, especially value for money! Staff were extra attentive and made sure our coffee/tea was always full. Would highly recommend.
We thoroughly enjoyed our afternoon tea, which was in conjunction with Charbonnel and Walker. Chocolate chip scones, chocolate cakes and chocolate truffles. We were offered extra sandwiches and we could have taken the leftover food with us. One of our party requested vegetarian and gluten-free afternoon tea, which was delicious.
We had Charbonnel et Walker afternoon. Good value for money. You can change your drinks as expected for afternoon tea but you can only ask for extra sandwich but nothing else. The scones are fluffy & soft. Their marmalade is very special served with chattily cream. The Charbonnel et Walker was exceptional but the doughnut was a bit dry. Overall it was a good experience & all staff are very friendly and helpful.
Loved The Mayfair kitchen.... great service and the high tea was wonderful.
Lovely chocolate inspired afternoon tea, scones were a tad dry but still tasty. Staff were super friendly and attentive. All in all a lovely experience.
We recently visited for afternoon tea. While the restaurant had a cool industrial vibe, it was not necessarily the ambiance for an afternoon tea. The food was good but the service was very slow. 15 minutes after being seated we still had nothing to drink. About 10 minutes after the food had arrived, we finally grabbed someone walking by to ask for water and the actual tea. For the price, would expect a more attentive staff.
Great place for high tea in London ! They accommodated our family (5) and we had a free bottle of Proseco. It was lovely. Chocolate themed - if you like chocolate - this is the place for high tea.
A birthday treat for my wife which was well received. The range of food was excellent, made all the better by excellent service from attentive staff. Despite being very busy (New Year's Day), we were both very happy with the experience and would definitely return and also recommend to friends and family.
Excellent value and the complimentary bottle of Prosecco, courtesy of Open Table, rounded off a wonderful afternoon!
Would not return. Poor food quality for an expensive price.
And despite complaints, still charged full price!
Really enjoyed their chocolate tea offering! The selection of sandwiches, scones & pastries is inventive & well put together. It all tasted delicious (for me especially the beef sandwich, chocolate scone, brownie & Charbonnel truffles)! Free top ups are great too.
Brilliant afternoon tea, staff were accommodating and were kind enough to alter the menu for me as I am a vegetarian. Food was delicious and I will definitely be going back!
A real revelation as I wasn’t expecting such a lovely experience. Quiet and peaceful, but far from lacking in atmosphere, the decor and restaurant overall were in extremely good taste with beautiful surroundings. The service was absolutely second to none, quite the best I have received. Staff were friendly, helpful, made us feel really welcome and appreciated, and were extremely attentive. In particular, mention must be made of our waiter Janos, who was courtesy himself and made the visit for us. I was also very surprised and happy to be offered a free bottle of Prosecco (worth £44) as an offer as I had booked through OpenTable. This really made the event for us. The afternoon tea itself was exquisite, although I could not give it an exceptional rating, that was only in comparison to some that I have had and because the rating called for it to be exceptional. It was delicious, and it was unusual and welcome to be able to have unlimited drinks and also extras of any of the courses. For a central London location and a special treat, this was really good value for money and I would most definitely recommend it, especially for a special occasion. We will most definitely be coming back, an absolute winner - many thanks!
the service was reasonable, but the ambiance was certainly not for an afternoon tea - more like for a quick lunch.
Very friendly and helpful staff. Food is ok too.
The service is just perfect, everyone is so kind and efficient, but the noise is just too much. The waitress has to bent the knee to speak to the customer. The tea was excellent, as the sandwiches, but the desserts were too much sweet or very dry. Didn't like them. And the price is excessive.
All the staff are so Approachable and friendly when we arrived till we leave. We enjoyed very much, very nice ambience too.
Excellent service, food and value for money. We had a great time!
It was lovely!! Have never had high tea before and it was better then I could have imagined!!
Went for afternoon tea and had a wonderful time, had the most lovely waitress who checked in on us several times. The food was delicious! Absolutely worth every cent!
Tea in London. This was truest an enjoyable and tasty event. You should define book this Tea!
A small criticism, sandwiches a bit dry.
Superb Afternoon tea for my 50th Birthday ..
Staff are very Friendly ..
The afternoon tea was delightful. The food was scrumptious and the tea was tasty.
I went for afternoon tea (the chocolate themed one) with a friend and we enjoyed it. It's quiet and classy. The service was lovely and didn't rush us to leave. Unless you are a mega fan of chocolate the desserts tray becomes a bit much but I'd still recommend it as value for money was great (£35 pp with a complimentary bottle of prosecco)
Attentive service in a great atmosphere. Pricey but not an every day thing I guess!
Very nice tea! Good selection of cakes. Felt a bit ill afterwards due to sugar rush.
I had an afternoon tea at The May Fair Hotel, it was lovely, food was amazing and the staff is lovely!
We had a free bottle of Prosecco for 2 with the Open Tables offer, it was perfect!
The restaurant is very stylish and quiet, I definitely recommend!
Service initially was excellent and our waitress explained their afternoon tea concept , food was excellent and the first round of tea was refreshing and bright, sadly this did not last as after we were offered a second round of tea and sandwiches, no waitress was to be seen.
We ran out of milk and that meant our tea went cold, disappointingly, this had taken its toll especially considering the 15% service charge , we were not happy to pay that at all.
We spoke to the front of house - who expressed his apologies and equal disappointment.
Good afternoon tea with good selection of sandwich’s and cakes.
Very good attentive service would highly recommend a visit.
The afternoon tea menu is generous and beautifully presented. For us there was too much emphasis on chocolate - can you have too much chocolate? Well yes you can if you are expecting a traditional afternoon tea menu. Maybe some more traditional items such as fruit scones and perhaps cream cakes?
With a choice of teas and coffees everyone can be sure of finding the one that suits.
The staff were very attentive and almost exclusively non-British with a terrific attitude towards their customers. Why are we brits generally crap at customer service in the food sector?
The price is okay compared to some more well-known Mayfair establishments.
Would we go back? We have already decided to return for tea at The Mayfair nearer to Christmas as part of our pressie buying routine in town.
Very poor service felt like a 2* hotel not a 5*. Waitress argued with us over a meal, 2 cake stands put in the middle of the table you couldn't even see the people position to have a conversation. We had to ask for everything we didn't even get a cup of tea offered she we'd booked afternoon tea for 3 people.
A real treat - great value too. Would definitely book again.
Very attentive members of staff. Highly recommend. The food was good, the hot chocalate was amazing. Good spot for afternoon tea with family or friends
One of the best afternoon tea that I have had in London!
All the sandwiches were delicious: no strange vegetables with soggy pastes. Lots of good salmon, roast beef, focaccia, cheese ...
The scones were surprising: chocolate chips and no raisins... a winner!
And all the deserts super delicious: tiramisu, brownie, truffles ...
Our waitress was the best!
Perfect way to celebrate friends special birthday particularly being a chocolate and Prosecco fan! Everything was delicious!
The finger sandwiches for afternoon tea were delicious! Afternoon tea is an 'all you can eat' affair, but there is not much need for refills because the selection is bountiful.
