A slightly quirky place, but very attentive service, and delicious tea
The chairs for some strange reason at set really low and made eating quite uncomfortable.
Had to ask for the loud music to be turned down which they did immediately so that was great.
Tea was constantly provided. Food was fine for the money.
Sadly the strawberry jam to go with the scones was just runny strawberry tasting goo. The blackcurrent jam was real.
It’s always beautiful at your hotel. Lovely afternoon tea and served with high standard.
Celebratory birthday champagne afternoon tea. Delightful setting, delicious cake and scones, top service from Raph, nothing too much trouble. Highly, highly recommend and can’t wait to visit again. New mgt have done wonders with the hotel.
Lovely food and atmosphere. Will definitely be coming back. Thank you!
Have been a few times to Oakley Court for Afternoon Tea; as always the cakes were fab but sadly today the scones were small & hard so not enjoyable & the bread was dry. Gray ambience & service was good
Excellent service and room was comfortable and interesting. Afternoon tea was very good
We had a wonderful afternoon tea experience for my Mum’s 80th birthday treat. Raphael and his team worked his charm and magic to make our afternoon very special and memorable. Wonderful experience and will be doing it again I am sure.
Excellent service and food. My only improvement suggestion would be that staff should be better dressed like Rafael and maybe in a uniform.
Rafael was a great host. We are considering a wedding there soon.
Lovely staff and atmosphere, beautiful grounds, immaculate facilities. A very enjoyable experience.
The afternoon tea was for an anniversary. The table offered to us was a bit low and in a busy area so we asked to change and we were moved to the restaurant without any fuss. Service was very good. We had one savoury tea and one conventional. The savoury tea was far better value with a wide range of treats and was delicious. Would always opt for that next time. The whole experience was very enjoyable and we would come back in the summer so we could sit on the terrace which would make it even better.
We booked the afternoon tea for our anniversary and we absolutely loved it. The food was fantastic, the venue was simply stunning and the service was outstanding. Everyone was very friendly and helpful and ensured we were having a lovely time. We used our full 2 hour slot easily and was not rushed at all. Took time to walk around the stunning grounds after our tea and still had a light guided tour of the other dining rooms in the manor and learned the history of the house prior to its life as a hotel. We will certainly visit again and we couldn’t recommend highly enough.
Lovely! Went for the savoury option which was such a frefreshing change, absolutely delicious. Service was also perfect!
An absolutely wonderful birthday afternoon tea for four. Location, venue, mood, food, service, staff friendliness all superb. Very relaxed and unhurried. Also thought good value for money. Would definitely recommend and will go again.
Great service, lovely food! A true five star experience
Fabulous afternoon tea to celebrate my birthday! I requested garden/river views and we were given a lovely window seat. We were quite needy (extra cups, plates and cutlery and loads of tea!) and all requests were dealt with very quickly. Staff very attentive and helpful. We will return soon!
Brilliant afternoon tea to help my daughter celebrate her 12th birthday.
The staff were friendly and engaging and went out of their way to make it a truly special event.
We will be back
This is my 2nd time at Oakley Court for afternoon tea.
The service is faultless, all the staff are very friendly and chatty and make you feel spoilt.
The food itself is divine, this time we went for the savoury afternoon tea. Everything was so good and the presentation beautiful.
I will definitely be going again and recommending to everyone I know
Our experience of afternoon tea at Oakley Court was amazing. I didn’t score 5 stars for all as I found the background music too loud and had asked if it could be lowered at all, but it wasn’t.
From a food perspective, a personal choice for me, I would have preferred it if the sandwiches were not quite so chilled. However, the food was absolutely fabulous.
I would not hesitate to return or to recommend this to family and/or friends.
Sandwiches were so thinly filled difficult to distinguish filling. Requested on booking 21st birthday acknowledgement….they forgot and had to be reminded. Cakes mediocre. Have taken Afternoon Tea at other establishments which are far superior. Costly for what is on offer. Would not book again or recommend. Location lovely …shame about food offered.
Beautiful garden and surroundings watching the boats . Very relaxing , stopped time for two hours and simply relaxed enjoying the lovely food . Staff very willing to help and friendly . Olivia was a star bringing more tea and coffee when required . If you wish to treat someone and enjoy excellent old fashioned service in a great atmosphere this is the place to come and relax
Very helpful team. My father is disabled and they couldn’t do enough for him. He had a lovely birthday afternoon tea and it was all delicious (in particular the scones)!
Thought it was very poor value fir money. Staff scruffy and not attentive. Would definitely not recommend
Staff friendly and attentive.
Sandwiches a little dry and under filled.
Cakes - some good and others not so good.
Scones very good
Plenty of tea
Very enjoyable tea in beautiful surroundings. Well worth a visit
The setting was perfect. Sitting in the grounds by the river on a sunny day. Initially the service was good but then it deteriorated. No checking to see if things were ok. No offers of fresh drinks. The food was average and overpriced. The 13 and a half service charge didn't help! The bill was £116 for 3 people. No alcohol either. Wouldn't go back. Not as good as I have had previously.
Fantastic tea on a terrace overlooking lawns and the Thames. Really not obvious at all from their website, but the location is stunning. Just the right amount of food, which was all very nice.
Overall it was a fantastic experience would come again, the only problem was a lady next to us talking via whatsapp to her daughter who was quite loud and some personal information we could hear, I had hoped one of the staff would have said something or maybe I should have.
Lovely afternoon-the second time we’ve been and already looking for an excuse for a third.
Attentive staff, comfortable seating, beautiful surroundings and scrumptious food…
I can't fault this place. We had the traditional afternoon tea. Our party included 2 elderly ladies with limited mobility and all the staff went out of their way to ensure they had a memorable visit. The table we had was perfect and had a lovely view of the River and grounds. Rafael and Tina ensured we were topped up wit tea and coffee and their banter created lots of laughter. We'll done.
A beautiful setting for afternoon tea. Service was great and we were lucky enough to be outside as the weather was gorgeous.
Delicious tea with our dietary requirements taken care of with ease. Lovely setting, attentive service
Very lovely atmosphere and nice selection of sandwiches and cakes
Afternoon tea at Oakley Court was just right for a special occasion. The food was very fresh and there was more than enough, we brought some home. The tea menu was extensive and there were limitless top-ups, you could try every tea on the list if you wanted to. The views of the Thames from the terrace make it special. It was reasonably priced and the service was excellent even though it was very busy. I would certainly go there again.
This is an outstanding location setting near the Thames perfectly complimented by excellent service. We enjoyed the food having the traditional menu however in retrospect I think we should have chosen the savory or perhaps having one of each as the traditional is very sweet. The ability to choose a number of different teas or coffee during the service was excellent
I was disappointed with the quality of the crockery, I would have expected bone China .
The finger sandwiches were rather ‘dull’ compared with other venues I have visited.
The service was extremely good and our waitress was charming.
The setting was of course exactly what we expected, beautiful day, outside and by the river!
Beautiful hotel and grounds, lovely setting overlooking the River. Catered for gluten free guest.
Lovely afternoon, delicious tea, excellent service and very friendly and helpful staff.
Beautiful grounds - lovely staff have already rebooked
