Afternoon Tea at Rosewood London
The staff of the Rosewood are outstanding. They offer you such an incredible welcome, form the moment you step foot inside to the moment you leave, its very special. They are also very knowledgeable about the food, and teas on offer, both of the teas I had were very flavoursome and the pairings just perfect as suggested by our server.
The room and setting for afternoon tea is wonderful. It feels like you are cocooned in a very very special space and a million miles form the hustle and bustle of Holborn, the hotel really is an oasis of calm and style.
The sandwiches were delichuous and very flavoursome (the egg and truffle a favourite!) the scones were probably also the best I have had at afternoon tea in London. just the right size and amazing texture. The small cakes the scones came with were also incredible.
For me it was only slightly surprising at the end... the last course which was the Vincent Van Gough inspired three cakes themes around his life and paintings. While pretty and showed off great skill in their presentation they were rather less impressive form a taste point of view than the previous middle course. They were all much the same and there lacked a bit of taste 'pizzazz'.
Otherwise a wonderful experience. Thank you!
Had a fabulous time. The hotel is luxurious, the food was amazing and the staff had a finite attention to detail. We celebrated some good news on the day and they picked this up and bought out a congratulations cake.
Beautiful hotel, the art afternoon tea was wonderful, service was great & very friendly
We loved the mirror room, it was a lovely setting for afternoon tea. Service was excellent, very friendly staff and our waiter had a great knowledge of the extensive tea menu offered. I booked the afternoon tea for my husband's birthday and he was very impressed with the sandwiches & pastries. The Rosewood is ideal for a special occasion.
Very kind and welcoming staff. The room is stunning and very relaxed. So much care and attention went into the food, truly is art work.
When we arrived, we were seated at a table with a large sofa and low chairs which made it quite hard to eat comfortably. The staff were attentive to start with and explained what we were being served.
We had a lovely pastry with green vegetables in it to start, which was delicious, but the bread was quite thick on the sandwiches.
The scones were delicious especially with the lemon curd, and the three little cakes were full of flavour and just the right size.
I was very disappointed when a waiter turned up with a flask of hot water and just poured it onto the cold tea left in our pots, not really what you expect when you’re paying £60 per head!
The main cakes looked amazing. We had to share one between two which was fine as they were quite big, but we felt they lacked flavour.
We love going for afternoon tea, but felt that this one was over priced and lacked some of the attention to detail that we’ve received in other establishments.
I had a high tea here that was as delicious as it was beautiful. Our server was very attentive and courteous. I would highly recommend this to anyone who is looking for a unique contemporary high tea experience.
Eveything is so good tasty and looks so beautiful.
We had a wonderful time
Una experiencia llena de color, emociones y sabores! Definitivamente recomendable! Nos encantó!
Amazing service , amazing tea selection . You get a great explanation of all teas. Great food and all cakes were delicious. The scones were fantastically light :)
I would definitely recommend this!
The service was fantastic and the waiters were all so friendly! Definitely recommend.
A wonderful experience from A to Z. Fantastic setting, wonderful food, incredible service. Couldn't have asked for more.
Nice and tasteful, the art-theme is presented in a beautiful way. Food is delicious. Friendly staff, epic tea-selection!
We initially were apprehensive about the venue .However we were thoroughly impressed from the moment we were seated till the moment we finished.
The service was impeccable and the 3 course high tea was excellent .We could not finish the pastries and cakes and readily doggie bagged the same .
This far exceeded expectations! Everything about the afternoon tea was magnificent!
The best afternoon tea that I have had in my entire life
This place never ever disappoints! The afternoon tea here is still one of the best I’ve ever had.
Visiting for business
prices and portion sizes are to big/high. Overall experience was good.
The art afternoon tea is amazing. The mirror room is spectacular, and so is the food, in both taste and presentation. Highly recommended for a special occasion. Just make sure you don't eat for a few days beforehand, or you won't be able to finish all the wonders in front of you!
A delicious afternoon tea in sumptuous surroundings. The service was excellent with someone always at hand if needed, yet never intrusive. The surplus cakes were beautifully presented in a sturdy box to take away and were very much enjoyed the following day. Thank you.
I love the ambience at The Rosewood and of course afternoon tea. It is my second visit and would recommend the Rosewood to family and friends.
We had a very nice experience at the Rosewood for tea. The staff was friendly and the food was both beautiful and delicious.
Stunning location, wonderful teas and beautiful food! We were not wild about all of the sandwiches -- the egg was particularly rough. And the gorgeous finale cakes were unfortunately WAY too sweet. The scones course was the best one -- wonderful scones and decadent, yet fresh, petit fours & treats -- the lemon macarons were particularly impressive! Overall, we had a very nice time and were pleased with the experience. But next time we will likely seek out another spot.
Lovely ambience and food. A bit pricey and there are few add ons from the set price
Very posh hotel, ambience was nice but nothing special. The service was good, but a little bit forced. I liked the food overall, however I had expected more from the description, and from the price. The tea is served menu-style (i.e. sandwiches first, then scones, then cake) - we would have liked to get everything at once so you could mix sweet and savory dishes.
Absolutely fabulous. The service was top notch & the food was scrumptious!
I found tea at Sketch to have far better flavors with the sandwiches and the desserts, more "wow" factor in the ambiance, hugely more options on the tea choices. Rosewood was just really nice and pretty but not a culinary tasting experience or a great tea listing. Given the choice I'd return to Sketch and skip the Rosewood. If you like looking at the fancy art desserts at Rosewood, bring your cellular and look at pictures but don't bother tasting.
Such a luxurious setting, loved it! The food was so tasty, but too tempting to eat it all!
Me and my friend came to have an afternoon tea at the Rosewood Mirror Room :) I am a huge fan of the Rosewood brand, and seriously it has never disappointed me! London property was not an exception! Excellent service, great ambience and a very creative afternoon tea set! We had a great time there! Also, a huge thank you to the sweetest Talia, which was very attentive and kind! We would definitely come back, thank you for the beautiful memories!
The food, presentation, ingenuity, creativity and execution were flawless. Would gladly return but I don't live in London. It was a birthday celebration made even more special by the after noon tea and attentive service. Thank you.
I was surprised by the amount of foods that Rosewood offered.
The afternoon tea was lovely and the attention to detail with the patisserie was very good and you should definitely go to try it. However the service was very slow, there didn’t seem to be enough staff - also as a minor annoyance they weren’t very attentive to what was going on around them at all times, for example we arrived before two couples but they did not look around and see us and sat the others first. It was very expensive and not quite justifiably, I think there are other equally as lovely options in London to choose from . The ambience was also lacking.
The Rosewood is a stunning hotel and a beautiful location for Afternoon Tea.
The service was charming, friendly and impeccable and the food was all delicious. The art theme for the final course was both gorgeous to look at and delicious to eat.
It isn’t cheap but no good afternoon tea in London is and whilst this isn’t something you’d do every day, as a treat it’s a lovely way to spend an afternoon.
The mirror room is amazing and beautiful! It has a nice ambience as well. I ordered the Van Gogh afternoon and the pairing cold brew. Overall it was all great. Every session has people explaining the dish. However, I still find it was a little pricy... it was worth trying but not daily routine haha
I’ve been to the ritz for afternoon tea a few months ago and the service at the Mirror room was far better. Sandwiches were good (salmon was a bit strong) , the scones were delicious, the mini cakes divine. The presentation of the sharing dessert was excellent. Though I think, by this point it was hard to appreciate them as we were so full.
Wonderful time, exception service, lovely food, and beautiful setting / presentation.
Very welcoming, friendly and attentive without feeling rushed. Would return again.
Staff and ambiance were lovely, but, food quality did not match the very expensive pricing.
