Afternoon Tea at Rosewood London
Served in the elegant surrounds of the Mirror Room, enjoy a selection of mouth-watering finger sandwiches, freshly baked scones and loose leaf tea. Followed by three show-stopping desserts inspired by some of the Picasso's most famous masterpieces including The Dream and Head of a Woman.
Amazing intricately decorated desserts themed currently around Picasso (I’ve been previously and it was different artists so this must change regularly). They have non-alcoholic champagne alternative which was very pleasant, like a semi sweet sparkling rose. Lots of choice of teas from around the world, delicious finger sandwiches, scones and jam, dainty desserts and then 3 sharing showstopper cakes. Really enjoyable treat and the setting is very luxurious so would be perfect for celebrations. I took Mom and she was very pleased!
We had an excellent afternoon tea at The Rosewood. The menu is innovative, but provides the perfect balance between the novel and the comforting. Service was attentive without being obtrusive. The building itself (the old Pearl Assurance HQ) is very impressive, but they did manage to create an intimate space amidst the grand, Edwardian setting. Location is good - close to The British Museum, Holborn tube and not too far to walk (20 mins) from Waterloo Station. As you can tell...we enjoyed our visit.
We went for afternoon tea on Sunday, I have been several times, but my friend had never been before. The service was exemplary. Could not have been more accommodating, informative and friendly. The food was beautifully presented and excellent. Our servers, Manuel and Jamie were amazing and made the whole experience so very special. Best afternoon tea in London.
Everything is just wonderful!
TOO Expensive for a few sandwiches.
the sauvery food wasn't great and it was 75£ per head! for afternoon tea without alcohol that is too expensive.
We truly had an outstanding experience!
We are very happy that we chose to do the tea tasting in addition to the “high tea” as that was a wonderful experience learning about the teas. Our waiter was very knowledgeable and wonderful in explaining all the nuances of each different tea.
The only comment I have about anything I would have “changed” is more savoury food with the scones rather than the sweet tastings. The scones with the jams are already sweet, so a little savoury (mini quiche maybe?), to balance and helpful in indulging in the materspiece final dessert course.
Otherwise, I have to say it was the best tea experience I have had.
Wonderful experience! Definitely one of the best afternoon teas in London!
Beautiful space and decor, outstanding service. We were there for the afternoon tea experience. Felt the food was just ok, not entirely worth the high price. Desserts were pretty but tasted just ok. Salty selection could have been a bit better, was quite basic. Would come back to try restaurant food but not for the expensive afternoon tea experience.
Perfect, beautiful inside and out, wonderful service and so much thought has been put into the Picasso afternoon tea, perfect celebration and would 100% recommend
Great hotel, great atmosphere but the food/pastries definitely do not meet the expectations we can have for a 75-pounds afternoon tea... Sandwiches are not tasty enough, pastries beautiful from an aesthetic standpoint but they are not fine - not the level of a chef.
The staff is really nice though.
Luckily one of our kids got the kids menu so less expensive.
As in most London 5star hotels, women alone do not get the best service. In our case, we started fine but after a while the service was at the best indifferent.
A delightful experience with interesting cakes, great service, and an unusual take on a traditional afternoon tea. But come hungry--the food provided was way too much for us, and we left uncomfortably full (and didn't even eat everything).
A very lovely and beautiful, art afternoon tea in a beautiful 5* hotel. Overall, a great and beautiful experience. The food was artistic but not necessarily mind blowing. It was to a very good standard and following the art theme throughout.
Really lovely - exquisite food, excellent service and delightful ambience. I took my Goddaughter for a celebration, and the waiters made such a fuss of her - she was absolutely delighted and we both had a wonderful time.
The place is so beautiful and food was equally matching. We had picasso themed afternoon tea which was fun and delicious. Each cake resembled his work and tastes special!
This was an outstanding London experience. It far exceeded our expectations (despite knowing that it was voted best contemporary afternoon tea in London). The service was impeccable, the space was stunning, and the food was divine. Every detail was spot on. It was magical. And we left very full (as you can order more of anything!).
Excellent venue for afternoon tea - the theme was Pablo Picasso
Staff were exceptional, the food beautifully presented with a wide selection of teas. Will come again.
The beautiful but unusual design for all the menu, and of course it was brilliantly tasty! The atmosphere is very luxurious and relaxing, where we can literally stay for hours. The service was smooth and kind. Overall I have nothing bad coming up to say about this place at all! I'm sure I am coming back soon :)
What a charming and elegant way to spend an afternoon! Tea at the Rosewood is not a stuffy affair - smart casual clothes are fine. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful and the food was not only delicious, but also full of surprises. For example the "apples" which were not apples but carefully made cakes which were an utter delight. Muted background music in a very ambient setting (the Mirror Room) where you are far enough away from other tables to talk privately but can still feel a part of the larger experience. £65 per head to include champagne and the full afternoon tea with a great selection of tea to drink plus sandwiches, scones, "apples" and cakes and pastries - too much to eat (we took a box of cakes home) and this was really good value. We would certainly re-visit
Great experience, best tea, amazing and friendly service.
Very elegant and stylish take on afternoon tea. Elegant yet cosy ambience whilst we appreciated the more experiment take on the sandwiches. Varied tea selection and the staff were simply wonderful. Great for special occasions.
We had a great time. The room decor is wonderful and the scones and pastries are amazing! However, we have been a little bit disappointed by the sandwiches.
The service was correct, but could be improved at some point I think (we have to ask twice to have water, the pastries were served while we were still eating the scones, it was sometimes difficult to well understand what our Spanish waiter meant/told us, etc...)
Fantastic service for a very special birthday!
Thank you very much to the Rosewood team!
Gorgeous setting, great staff. Tea selection is wonderful. Unfortunately all of the sweets were much too sweet for everyone's taste... But very high quality. Glad we indulged, overall.
Great food, great service. Overall a great experience. The bar is also fabulous but does not open until 4pm
Having had Afternoon Tea at some of very top hotels i would say the Rosewood in London is up there with the rest for Setting Food and Service which were all 5 Star.
Rosewood gives attention to detail, and we found the presentation of the Tea and the ideas behind the composition to be fascinating. The selection of teas, and the quality, was excellent. The service was very attentive and outstanding — a special experience.
had great time with my sister on christmas eve. delicous desearts and good servicw
Beautifully presented food and tasted as good as it looked. Helpful friendly staff
One of the best afternoon teas I’ve ever had; and I’ve had a lot. Lovely ambiance, attentive but not OTT staff, and properly exciting and inventive sandwiches. Top marks.
Felt room for improvement . Disappointed with the service for 6 people bring 80pp plus -was quite slow. And the explanations on food were given too quick - difficult to hear and understand. Hotel is beautiful.
Absolutely amazing good service and nice staff always coming and looking after you definitely will go back again and they also looked after me for halal food as well.
German Chocolate cake and Apple cake were very delicious.
Fabulous afternoon tea would highly recommend this place. The scones were light and fluffy, the best I have ever had and believe me when I say I’ve had quite a few.
Jam and Lemon curd was delicious
And the cakes were superb. Will I be going back yes, actually this is already the second time I’ve been there.
Don’t hesitate go go go
Very friendly, attentive staff that were very knowledgeable and efficient. The Afternoon tea was delightful with plenty of options for vegetarians and those that are gluten free.
