Afternoon Tea at The Berkeley Hotel
The Dior Couture Collection transforms landmark pieces into exquisite biscuits, bakes and fancies. From the Junon Dress worn by Theo Graham at Le Pré Catalan in Paris 1949 to the Bar Jacket which has been synonymous with Dior since it took to the catwalk in 1947 as part of the ‘New Look,’ each piece this season takes inspiration from Dior’s fashion history.
Very expensive for the overall quality. The presentation of the cakes was impressive but in terms of taste it was window dressing. Basically sponge cake with vert pretty coverage. I would have liked to have scones too.
We had to request to change table because we were set to sit in a dark corner, when tables next to the windows were available. The food was superb. The desserts was outstanding, beautiful and delicious. The sandwiches were not mind blowing but good. We were surprise there were no scones. Also the Dior main pieces (the shoe and jacket cookies, and Eau de Perfume cake) were not provided for 2 but just 1, so we had to share. That is disappointing because we paid for 2 afternoon teas but had to share the the food and didn't each get our own. They offered to bring us an other set of cookies but never did. The service was ok, depending on who was helping us. Overall it is not what is expected for the price paid but we are paying for the Dior theme.
Lovely afternoon tea , cakes were delicious and I very rarely consume cakes but I must say each cake was worth every calori ! Three downsides , coffee a little bit weak , we weren't asked if we could like some more tea whilst having our cakes , the first waiter was fantastic full of charismas and charm ! The ambience was lovely and my daughter felt truly special on her birthday , they would of liked a cake to bring home in a special goodie bag - that would of been a nice touch .
The service is impeccable but I felt that the savoury aspect let the experience down. I was however, so impressed with the nut free dessert choices for myself.
Very bad service, I’ve found a hair on the sandwich so they didn’t charge me for one person. I told them three times to write a note for my mother to celebrate Mother’s Day and they didn’t. They didn’t even pack the sweets for take away which I clearly asked for. Very disappointed !
The Dior theme afternoon tea is wonderful. Everything is great.
It was lovely
The service was slow. We had to ask to get more tea in some occasions and it took 20min to get it. The waitress didn’t smile or try to make us feel welcome. I asked for scones and she said she would offer them. I made her repeat as they weren’t on the menu. In the end they were added to the bill. I had been here before and had a better experience.
Food was really good but the sandwiches and cakes are too small, and I’m not a big eater! We were not offered to get more. Do we need to ask?
Lovely afternoon tea, with a special fashion theme. Food was good and we were treated to a few little extras from the lovely staff. We were not rushed and it was really relaxing. Lots of teas to choose from and catered dietary requirements well. I would recommend.
Very nice experience as always
Very bad taste
Wonderfull afternoon tea for a Chistmas Eve.
Tea was just Perfect and good excellent.
The cool is however quite Noisy.
Very nice and good ;o) but almost 80 pounds for 2 aditionnal glasses of champagne, well... I do not agree :o((
Ambiance excellente mais les desserts trop sucrés
The service was very good, the staff friendly welcoming and very helpful. The hotel is stylish and has a lovely ambience for meeting friends and catching up. The afternoon tea sandwiches ans cakes are delicious.
Descent, but expectations were so much higher.
The pre-cut mass produced sandwiches we partly dry, the cake stand looked spectacular, but tasted mainly of sugar and glaze.
My expectations might have been too high, but I had expected more than what we got.
Service was charming but nothing out of the extraordinary, and the quality of tea carried a lor between the two pots.
The full experience just wasn’t consistent enough to fulfill my high expectations
We went to celebrate my daughters 21st birthday. We had a few requests that were well catered for- gluten free and no sugar. Both were very pleased with the results. The restaurant was very busy and noise level was quite high otherwise a great day out.
The cakes are great! I love how original they are and the presentation is superb. Very impressed.
We went to the Berkeley for my mums birthday and i could not praise them highly enough. The afternoon tea was spectacular. It was so much fun and the service was incredible.
Very wonderful afternoon tea
Afternoon tea... At first I thought it’s overrated!! But the afternoon tea at the Berkeley was Amazing! All 3 savory plates were to Die for. Sandwiches very good and sweets good too.
It is cozy so you could hear the entire conversations of the people around you!! This was annoying!
Perfect from the moment we entered until we left.
Excellent service, the cakes were a work of art. The only annoyance was the extra charge for some of the teas in the small print.
Oustanding afternoon tea experience for a Birthday celebration. Decor was fab, service was excellent, ambiance was great and the presentation of the cakes was beautiful. The fashion inspired theme was totally outstanding.
Outstanding service, fantastic food!
The Epitome of a Grand Afternoon Tea, Professional staff and an Outstanding selection of Tea and Sandwiches.
A very fun and exciting afternoon tea. With a fun and joyful room and delicious themed treats, i would highly recommend. I’m not a huge fan of a lot of the traditional finger sandwiches, but the ones i tried were very tasty. Teas were all very great.
Had a lovely afternoon tea for our daughter’s 19th birthday. Loved the designer theme, the savory & sweet selections were delicious & the service was wonderful!!!
It was an experience specially for a fashion lover.
The service wasn’t great as we waited a lot for someone to take our order.
Enjoyed the afternoon tea very much. The service and food were both faultless. However the only negative thing is the tables are very close to each other. You feel that the people sitting on the table next to you should be joining you even the waitress could hardly get between the tables. Just a shade apart would feel better.
Amazing high-tea with fabulous selection of sweets and savories. Very well designed and themed. Great selection of teas and good setting. Very recommended.
Perfect location and setting for an afternoon tea. Light and airy decor, perfectly matching fine china and extremely good service. Food was wonderful, love the designer take on the desserts! I missed the traditional scones though!
The atmosphere and decor of the restaurant was stunning. Staff was excellent, our waiter was lovely, and has the best memory! The fact that he could remember each and every detail of our afternoon tea dishes was beyond impressive. The presentation of the food was stunning! Only 2 suggestions- it would be great for us to be able to smell samples of the teas that you have available for us to choose and also it’d be great if you could leave the description of the desserts beside us for us to go through during our own time when eating them. Other than that, your definitely my favourite afternoon places by far in london! The theming was wonderful!
This was the first time going for afternoon tea with 2 of my other friends. The waiters were very informed and very welcoming. The sandwiches were soooo fresh and the desserts were very delicious.
The ambience is great as well with beautiful teacups. Absolutely loved it.
Afternoon tea for a 70th birthday. ...beautiful hotel and the most amazing designer styled fashion cakes.
Staff so attentive...just perfect !
Staff made you feel so welcome and very accommodating for my nut allergy. The afternoon tea was exquisite and so filling. Such a lovely place to spend the afternoon on a special occasion. Have been before this time and will go back again! Seasonal menu so always something new.
