Food was enjoyable, setting and service could be improved
Food was amazing and staff were fabulous. Will definitely be booking again. 10/10
Attended afternoon tea at Fitzwilliam.
Afternoon tea environment held in restaurant area which overall seemed to be very dark.
Wide selection of sandwiches, sweet and savoury treats. Sandwiches & scones were very tasty however left slightly disappointed with the sweet treats and savoury treats as overall had no real flavour. Don’t think I would recommend to a friend.
Honestly was expecting more. Wasn’t the best. The service was okay however we had to ask for the tea. The fundamental thing. No one explained the choice of sandwiches and the treats. It was actually poor compared to the local competitors. Food was okay
A lovely treat. Great variety of sweet & savoury items. Nice attentive service and really comfortable surroundings.
Crafter noon tea was lovely. Lots to eat. A change to sandwiches!
It looked alot better than it tasted. The scotch eggs and pork pie were delicious!! Everything else was let down by the bread, especially the pastrami the sourdough it came on was so stale, you could tell by looking at it that it was pre sliced and left to sit.
excellent service and friendly staff, relaxing atmosphere
Had a gorgeous afternoon tea to celebrate my Mum's 75th birthday. We chose the vegan afternoon tea as she has a dairy allergy and we were not disappointed. The scones and coconut cream were out of this world. Everything was delicious and the service was excellent.
Great high tea, good value, although 20% service charge added automatically to bill for table of 5?? Food was lovely and lots of it. Service was excellent.
It was my sister’s birthday
If I could have give more stars for the service I would have, Brian was absolutely amazing, so friendly & helpful. Food was delicious & the hotel was lovely
My daughter & I had afternoon tea at the Fitzwilliam on Sunday. I highly recommend it. The food from the festive menu was outstanding & our server James was very attentive. Couldn't have asked for more. Will definitely be back in the future.
Excellent food and service. Well worth the money and staff were very attentive. Would recommend you to anyone!
We had a nice lunch with great service. I did enjoy it but felt it was very slightly overpriced.
We had a lovely time having afternoon tea and a couple of fabulous cocktails. Sat on two large chairs at the fire which created a lovely atmosphere. The service was great and his timing was perfect, making sure we had plenty of tea, not having to wait between servings & able to relax with a couple of great cocktails to finish off. Definitely recommended!!
Booked afternoon tea as a treat for my parents, and it exceeded my expectations. The service was fantastic and the food was great. Loved our table by the fireplace, very spacious and cosy. A nice variety of food and unlimited tea and coffee. Would recommend for a special occasion, or just a treat.
I had been expecting afternoon tea at the Fitzwilliam to be good, but it was so much nicer than I even expected. We were looked after by Jacob who was brilliant - he could not have been more attentive or helpful. The coffee and tea were both excellent - best Americano I've had in Belfast and delicious lemongrass and ginger tea. The food was all delightful and there was plenty to allow us to take a little goodie bag of cakes home with us. We sat in the foyer and it was very cozy on a rainy March day. I highly recommend tea at the Fitzwilliam for a treat or a gift - I'm hoping someone buys me another one!
For £35 this was poor. The bresd that the sandwiches were made from qas of poor quality and the fillings werent much better either. The savoury snacks eree good but we didnt get the beef cheek as it stated on the menu. I think for the price we should have got a cocktail amd glass of champagne. As part of a 30th birthday present is was disappointed and wouldnt book this again.
Great experience and excellent value.
I think it is extremely over priced .The food isn’t for everyone palate .Not everyone does fish .I was extremely disappointed as it was in the bar in a booth .I had brought my elderly mother to celebrate her 80th birthday and it was a waste of money.
Dear Karen, Thank you for taking the time to leave a review. I am sorry your visit on this occasion did not meet your expectations. If booking in the future, please request a lobby table & let us know if you have any dietary preferences. We are happy to accommodate. Warm regards, Ruairi
Very nice afternoon tea in the bar area. The sandwiches were nice, as were the sweet pastries.
Excellent service by all attending staff. Even had contact with management. Well presented able. Intimate snug like table. Food well presented. Nice experience.
Sandwiches fillings not enjoyable , crab starter far too rich with sauce, bread on the sandwiches were hard had to ask to be sent back and cakes were boring. The only enjoyable thing was the cocktail and the excellence service from the restaurant supervisor , Anna. Lovely young lady. Disappointed in seating in the breakfast area would have been much nicer in the foyer . Overall a disappointing experience.
Dear EH2020, Many thanks for taking the time to leave a review - we value your feedback. I am disappointed to learn you didn't enjoy some aspects of your afternoon tea. We have received great feedback on our new Downton Abbey Afternoon Tea and I am sorry that this was not your experience. With limited seating in the lobby, we do serve afternoon tea in our restaurant during busier times. Its great to see you enjoyed your service from Anna - she is a star. Thank you again for your feedback, Ruairi
Great service, very attentive staff. Great selection of products. A lot of items with fish though if you don’t like this. The staff changed an item for us with no issues. All food was fresh and well presented. Would definitely recommend the venue . Definitely one of the best afternoon teas I have had
Very good value for what we received. If we were seated away from the entrance (sometimes we could smell cigarette smoke coming in as well as the breeze from the door), it would have been perfect.
A bit pricey but a lovely gift. Family have gone last 2 years with great praise for food and staff they thoroughly enjoyed
Best cream team in Belfast without a shadow of a doubt. Great service, amazing food from little warm starters to delicious warm scones and cream to the most delectable seasonal mini pastries this is a not to be missed experience in Belfast
Food was lovely but there was absolutely no atmosphere. Didn’t feel at all like a festive afternoon tea. Would have liked to have had my Prosecco/ wine when I wanted it, after my food, rather than having it served with the tea and then being warm by the time I was drinking it. This could not be accommodated!!!
Sadly we were served a delicious afternoon tea in the bar sharing the experience with the the other beer drinking public -- not what was expected from a 4 star hotel
A lovely afternoon spent with family over afternoon tea. Would highly recommend. Only point to make was it was a little draughty
We had a brilliant afternoon tea and would like to mention in particular the two young ladies who served us on 9th November. The service was excellent and the girls were attentive, warm and friendly. They made a special effort as it was my mother in law’s birthday treating her to a complimentary drink and pastries. The food was also first class and there was plenty to go around. Only improvement I would make is to serve mini scones instead of the large ones. All in all a great experience and we would definitely recommend. Well done!
I have had afternoon tea in a number of hotels, with the Fitzwilliam holding a 5 star rating I expected something special but unfortunately pretty average. The staff were excellent.
I have had Afternoon Tea in a number of hotels but I have to say that this was by far the best that I have had. It was a treat for my Mum and the food was just superb. The staff were very friendly and attentive and all in all it made for a fabulous way to spend a rainy Saturday afternoon.
Absolutely outstanding afternoon. Victoria was our server and made us feel like the most special ladies in the world. Cannot wait to return!
Dear GemmaH, Thank you for your kind review! Victoria will be delighted to read your feedback. We hope to welcome you back soon. Ruairi

Took my parents there for afternoon tea and were looked after really well by staff especially Lorraine. My dad who is 81 had steak off bar menu and said it was nicest he'd ever tasted. Loved the hot starters from afternoon tea menu also. Would thoroughly recommend.
