Afternoon Tea at The House Hotel

We went to House for afternoon tea. We were very disappointed. We arrived 15 mins early and this was pointed out to us by staff, they said let me check if the kitchen is ready for you.
No menus provided at all! I would have expected a menu of what was included in afternoon tea nor when it was brought out was it talked through by staff.
Sandwiches were very stale when they arrived, as if they had been left sitting out for a number of hours. Portion sizes were tiny also.
Scones were about the best part and they were only OK.
Tea was served without Tea Cups (think they expected us to re-use our coffee cups!)
Staff asked us once the food was received did we need anything else but didn’t come near us again after that for the remainder of our visit.
Definitely would not recommend regardless of the Groupon Deal.
Booking not found, afternoon tea totally different to description on the website, child’s tea not offered, no questions about allergies, stale bread watery creme dessert . Very disappointed.
