Our first afternoon tea in London, and it was fabulous! We upgraded to the Prosecco tea experience and had a wonderful private date in the parlor. Would definitely book again for afternoon tea!

It was our first afternoon tea experience as we were visiting London with the kids. I knew it would be pricey (they don’t have diff pricing or menu for kids). However, it was a lot more than expected and food and desserts were sub par. It was located in a small but elegant room with only a few tables. We had to go looking for staff since nobody was there at the front to seat us. When we finally got seated, we were offered the tea options that would be extra in cost and we declined. I asked if kids could have hot chocolate and they said yes. Then we were told about the kombucha and we were under the impression it was included in our high tea price (no reason we would otherwise pay extra, especially for kids). Service was slow but our experience was still good until we asked for the bill and saw they charged us for the kombucha (2 of which were barely touched because our kids didn’t like it). I told the lady we were not informed it would be an extra charge but she just kept repeating that it is an extra charge and then put an x on where I should add tip (they had already included a service gratuity charge). She waited until she saw me put down a tip, it was very uncomfortable. Overall, the experience would have been good but was ruined by the lady’s rudeness and unwillingness to sort the matter. Would not go back.

Sitting in this beautifully decorated, cozy room spanned the windows- it was both picturesque and comfortable. The scones were delicious- and the sweets amazing! Fantastic selection of tea with excellent service. The sandwiches could be a hair nicer and a bit more space between tables for sure- but a truly lovely high tea overall! Would def do again!

It was a very pleasant Afternoon Tea experience for the first timer. Only thing I felt bit of concern was the tables which are kept so close to each other. As a person, I would prefer somewhere there is space & privacy however since there was no one apart from us during that time it was quite fine.

We never actually got to enjoy tea time here. We arrived and waited about 30 min to be out in a garden with artificial grass and cheap tables/chairs. No one else was there. After waiting 15 min we decided to leave. The main dining room is actually really nice but there was no room there for us. Despite the reservation.

My experience here was spectacular. The tea room was small but luxurious, nice ambience, and a great afternoon tea. Our entry was delayed by 20 minutes but I got a compensatory 10% off.

I did not actually take tea with my friends as only four people could be accommodated and there were 8 of us who wanted to have tea. The first 4 to arrive had tea but the rest of us had booked for another venue up Westbourne Terrace who were happy to welcome us. The lady having the vegan offering was not very impressed but at least a vegan offering, pre-booked was available. When i booked 6 weeks ago I was not told my booking clashed with a large wedding party which was kepping all the staff very busy meaning slow service for the four who did have tea at The Hyde, If they had mentioned the large wedding party I would have chosen another date. As things are I suspect we will not be booking The Hyde again. I did visit on my own and had an excellent afternoon tea so it can be good.

I was here for afternoon tea and had a horrible experience with sexist and classist staff. I’ve already complained to their manager who claimed to have dealt with the issue, but i would never return. The male hostess was extremely sexist to me and my group of female friends, prioritizing any man who walked in after us as he didn’t believe we had a reservation. Our waitress treated us as if we couldn’t afford the £35 meal and hardly attended to us and paid attention to parties with make occupants. I had to physically get up and find her to ask for water, the check, and food that they took off of our table without us being done, without it having been given to us for even 10 minutes. Then as we finished, I saw the male hostess and the male front desk attendant eyeing our group, laughing and pointing at us. It was a horrible experience and as a visitor to London was the worst thing I did with my time.

This was a terrible experience. We made a reservation for inside and were seated outdoors in 40 degree weather. When asked to be sat inside as our reservation stated, we had to wait another 35 minutes before being placed in a small corner. Not the afternoon tea experience we signed up for and definitely not worth your money. Do not sign up to reserve this terrible service.

Staff had not received our reservation from opentable but were very gracious and seated us. The room/bar was small and intimate and nicely decorated for the holidays. Wait staff was very attentive and polite but the food was average. The sandwiches barely had any filling and therefore largely flavorless. The scones were warm but a tad dry and the desserts were decent although would have preferred something more typically English. Overall it was a pleasant experience, especially given that it was a last minute decision and our options were limited. I enjoyed it as a one off event but probably wouldn’t return.

Overall a great experience! The restaurant was really cute in a great area to get the full London tea experience. Service was a little slow and lacking, and we had to ask for tea refills. The food was the perfect amount for an afternoon snack. Overall a good value for a great experience!

We went for afternoon tea and lunch, we waited for an hour before getting food, we were told it would be fresh but it was cold hard and stale and only one 3 tier stand for two people was brought to us. The sandwiches were terrible and very tiny compared to usually afternoon tea. The selection was poor and when we told them it was as such they said they would bring more for both of us , but only one plate came 40 mins later (for 4 finger sandwiches ). Our order was mixed up with someone else’s. The scones and deserts came in the wrong order, and they brought us someone else’s food. The main lady in charge was nice and all the staff were nice but the service and food was terrible! We asked for the service charge to be removed. All in all, epic fail.
