Afternoon Tea at The Radisson Blu Edwardian Kenilworth
With both theatreland and the British Museum a short stroll away, it features cool marble floors and comfortable booth seatings. On the walls specially commissioned artwork gives a modern interpretation of the Dutch masters.
Our Afternoon Tea includes mouth-watering scones, delicate finger sandwiches and naughty pastries as well as a selection of fine teas.
For £30 I expected the food to be a lot better. It was ok, but not great. Sandwiches had very minimal filling and bread dried out really quickly. When I asked for 1 extra mini scone, I was brought 4 and charged an additional £11 for a cream tea without being told there was an additional cost. It’s a typical hotel lobby restaurant so there’s no atmosphere to speak of. I wouldn’t go again or recommend it, but it was a convenient location on the day.
Service was exquisite. You really feel pampered by the very caring staff members.
Food is great value too. And it's quiet and cozy.
I would definitely recommend it.
The hotel was lovely, the sandwiches were very dry, other than that it was ok!
Food was average, casual afternoon tea but service was quite good, friendly and looked after us well.
We asked them to refill hot water into tea pots several times but they weren’t reluctant to do (actually lots of waiters/waitresses are when I ask) or even they frequently (I mean just right timings!) asked us if everything was ok topping it up very quickly, changing tea leaves as well albeit this price range.
I’ve been to almost all of high end afternoon places in London, not just once, at least few times at each hotels, sometimes (quite often?) I have to wait for long time to just order/ask and even longer to get what I want especially at popular luxury places... and some of them rush us to leave tables with bills before we ask although we normally pay more than double than here.
To be honest, atmosphere was very casual but really quiet and comfortable to have conversation with my friend, which is also what I liked.
Not that elegant or high end style afternoon tea but as a casual catching up place with close or female friends having tea and cakes for long time to have chat comfortably, this place would be very nice! Good value too!
Sandwiches were dry , you can tell it wasn’t fresh. Other than that the cakes were really nice.
We arrived after having booked the day before. Our booking was not in the system, so we would have had to wait for more than 30 minutes because the kitchen was not ready to accommodate our visit. We left without having tea. Not impressed
One portion of clotted cream smelled sour & had to be changed. Some of the bread was stale (sandwiches).
Very little atmosphere because there were not many people there.
Not s very stylish dining room - very casual. No tablecloths. Definitely would not recommend it. Not very good value for money.
A very pleasant experience - service was good as was the delicious afternoon tea! Pricey though.
Lovely afternoon tea and great service. Good variety of cakes and sandwiches
Enjoyed getting together with family over tea. Cakes were good but sandwiches could have been better. Nevertheless well worth the visit.
I made this reservation only two hours before actually going so it was very last minute. I think it threw the staff off a bit. The maître d' was very good at making changes quickly and accommodating the table for one not two. However the first server I had was completely unaware of how to serve afternoon tea. I asked for cream for my tea which he brought about 15 minutes later after I had to repeat "cream" twice and then he insisted I meant milk. Whatever. He didn't pour the tea either but left it on the table and went on to fold napkins. The other server that came around asked if I wanted my tea refilled and was very professional. Poured he tea, cleared the plates, and came back to check if I needed anything else. Looked like a busy afternoon. Also the poor waiter came back after I asked for my bill and when I pulled out my credit card said I had to pay at the bar because he couldn't take a credit card. Really? He couldn't have walked to the bar (5 steps) and asked the bartender to ring it up? Since I am in the business (I oversee 24 servers) I know what it's like to have new servers. This one definitely needs more training.
We waited a long time to get our sandwiches apparently the scones weren't ready but we had already waited a long time for the tea to come.
I had to mark down based on the slow service but the food wasn't too bad.
Booked afternoon tea but was told we were too Kate but they spoke to the chef who said if we didn't mind not having scones he would do it for us. What we had was beautiful. Staff were attentive but not bothersome. A really nice experience for my daughter
We were the only ones in the Scoff & Banter having Afternoon Tea - 3:30pm on a Thurs. The place lacked any atmosphere or ambience but, staff were friendly and helpful. A few people from the Hotel were having drinks in the same bar/ restaurant...can think of much better places for Afternoon Tea...
Never done this before. Was a good selection and service was excellent. We did however end up paying full price????? For a special occasion I would do it again
