Afternoon Tea at The Savoy
Guests can also indulge in Afternoon Tea in this comfortable and intimate spot accompanied by the hotel's resident pianist. Afternoon Tea at The Savoy is an enduring custom where guests can choose from a range of teas served with finger sandwiches, homemade scones with clotted cream & jam and a mouthwatering selection of cakes and pastries.
Afternoon Tea starts from £65.00 per person.
A lovely experience although not without criticism. The piano was too loud, althoigh we were in one corner, making conversation difficult. The quality of the food was good but the consensus was that the fillings and the breads did not always complement each other. We have all dined in some of the best restaurants in Britain so do appreciate fine cuisine but sometimes 'simple' cannot be improved upon!
The tea strainers seemed to be style over substance as they let most of the leaves through!
Despite all this we had a fun time and left suitably replete.
My favourite afternoon tea in London. The setting is beautiful the service is excellent and the food is outstanding.
Lovely afternoon felt very special thank you. They were very good seeing there were allergens too.
Great food, fantastic service and atmosphere. I will be back again soon
First class food, service and ambiance. Had a wonderful time.
Nice atmosphere but sandwiches were lacking in fillings very sparse. Also the waiter filled my tea cup with the wrong tea which was annoying. Loved the rosehip jam probably the best part
Thought it was very over priced , could of got better elsewhere

Went for afternoon tea on Valentine's day. Food was average, only offered one choice of tea. Wait between finishing glass of champagne and receiving tea was too long at 20 minutes. Service was polite but sporadic. Very poor value for money. Wont be back.
Very personalised service from arrival to the departure. Very professional and friendly services. Will highly recommend
My wife and I were celebrating our engagement on St Valentines day 60 years ago. I proposed to her in the Victoria Embankment Gardens just below the Savoy Hotel.
The staff at the Savoy were very friendly - the gentleman on reception, the barman who helped us identify items in the museum and Emma who served us afternoon tea. It was also very pleasant to listen to the piano music while we enjoyed our tasty sandwiches and cakes.
Thank you to all concerned.
We have really enjoyed our valentines afternoon tea. My husband and myself also treated our 5 year old daughter to ‘The Tiger who came to tea’ afternoon tea as it was also her half term. It was truly an unforgettable experience. The service was perfect. Mathew served us and he is absolutely a credit to the Savoy. The Tiger tea was so thoughtfully planned, with a gift book and keepsake photo of the experience. Thank you to Mathew, the Thanes Foyer team, and the ever beautiful Savoy. We are already planning our next stay and afternoon tea.
Beautiful hotel and fantastic afternoon tea experience at The Savoy. The service was fantastic and the entire experience was the absolute respite needed from a busy day in London.
Hi,
Our Afternoon Tea made for a very pleasant interlude.
The service provided by Daisy was excellent, especially as it was our wedding anniversary,
The food was good and adequate.
Regards.
We thoroughly enjoyed our afternoon tea, but the experience was made more perfect by the outstanding piano player and her excellent repertoire of our favourite pieces of music and songs. It was the highlight of our afternoon. Many thanks and well done Nicole.
Afternoon tea at the Savoy is always a treat. Great service/ambiance with pianist playing in the background. We went for ther high tea plus a glass of fizz.
We were made an extra fuss of, with a card, small cake & candle as it was a birthday celebration.
A minor criticism was that the cakes at the end seemed rather similar
Super! Every detail was spectacular. Great food an service
A lovely treat with a great atmosphere and fantastic service. Staff could not be more attentive. Refills on sandwiches were offered and there are plenty of cages/pastries to fill you for the day.
We went for a birthday celebration which was lovely. We weren’t told though that having a glass of the pink champagne to start was going to add £20 per person to the bill. Also there were long waits between getting refills for our tea which we couldn’t do ourselves as the teapots were not left on the table. We still had a lovely experience though.
Absolutely beautiful traditional afternoon tea! The sandwiches and cakes were all delicious and everything so beautiful, especially the pianist setting the scene in the background. The service was impeccable and I love that there was no holding back on the refills. A definite high contender at the top of my afternoon tea list!
We were celebrating my wife's 50th birthday and the staff at the Savoy made certain we did so in style. The food and champagne were of the standard you would expect from such a prestigious establishment but it was the attention and care of the staff that made the afternoon particularly special.
What a lovely afternoon we had - it was an early Birthday present for me from my partner. We had been for lunch a couple of times and had enjoyed those experiences. The ambiance was wonderful and all seemed to be having a great time! Service was absolutely excellent and please thank Byron for his attentiveness - he was a great help as was the lovely girl living in Brixton but who came from Guildford.
We will be back.
THANK YOU ALL FOR A LOVELY DAY.
Really good quality food ,delicious sandwiches and plenty of them. The cakes were really nice ,we were able to take the rest home.
The service was not bad ,I do feel that it was quite expensive, compared to other teas I have had in London ,and the service charge was a lot at £25.00.But lovely for a special treat.
A stunning experience for a very special treat. The service was impeccable - courteous, thoughtful, attentive and generous. Sandwiches were very slighty too much bread, needed touch more moisture in the filling for my taste. Pastries and scones were wonderful.
We went to the savoy for a friend's 40th......not something we would usually do!! It was fantastic! The service was amazing!
Delightful experience made even better by the awesome waitresses who made us feel very special. Daisy was absolutely brilliant; a credit to The Savoy!
We had a wonderful afternoon tea at the Savoy hotel , celebrated my mums 75th Birthday ,very attentive waitress nothing was too much trouble very relaxing . We were recommended a tea that we had not tried before so was a new experience , the pianist was amazing loved it had a memorable afternoon .
Excellent afternoon tea. Beautiful room and ambience. Friendly attentive knowledgeable staff
The atmosphere is very relaxed and the beautiful pianist playing soft jazz music was wonderful. The staff were superb and they added so many personal touches, ie presenting us with a plate with Happy Anniversary iced on it with a little cake and a card with Marilyn Monroe on it taken from one of the pictures around the room.
The food, as you would expect, was lovely and we were able to take a goodie bag home with the cakes we couldn't eat.
We would thoroughly recommend it for a special occasion.
Our visit could not have been better. The ambiance is perfect. Our waiter Sam was fabulous. We have been many times to the Savoy afternoon tea and each time is great. Watching the experience evolve makes the experience better each time. I simply cannot day enough good things about it!
Savoy is a very classic place for the traditional afternoon tea, I had very good memory as a student once came to Savoy, the scone was fanatic and led me to bring my family back to Savoy again ! We love the classic atmosphere here, nice varility of sandwiches and scones, Sweets and pastries
You cannot finish all of them because the quantity is big, of course, you can box up if you didn’t finish all.
Wonderful experience! 60th birthday celebration was lovely - cake and card was a lovely touch. Food was exceptional and plentiful though the service was excellent, as a suggestion, guests should be asked when they would like tea poured to allow it time to brew - we do not all like weak pale tea. One small amount of clotted cream was not enough for two.
The ambience was relaxing and friendly and all the staff were very attentive and well turned out.
Thank you Savoy - your reputation as one of the best lived up to all our expectations.
We actually had breakfast here for my Partners b'day yesterday. It really was a wonderful experience. The staff were super attentive. The food was really tasty. We both had a full English. We would definitely go back & I highly recommend! They even gave my partner a birthday card & cake!
Wonderful experience for my Mum's 80th birthday. The staff were amazing. The food was out of this world. We will be going again
Perfect is the only way to describe it. Thank you 🙏
Stunning location and great atmosphere.
We came to celebrate a special birthday and were not disappointed. The sandwiches and cakes were delicious. The ambience of the foyer was very welcoming, as was the waitress who served us for the afternoon. I would have liked to see two of each cakes on the plates instead of just the one, other than that everything was perfect. We had a very pleasant afternoon tea.
It was all amazing .. finger sandwiches are the best ..
Mum and daughter day. It was amazing.
Ideal location. Excellent ambience . Excellent service. Delicious food. The whole experience is value for money.
Thames Foyer pleasantly surprised us with lightness, spaciousness and nice atmosphere supported by live piano music. Both tea and food were delicious. Both replenished by the staff as required. The only negative was the slightly reduced attentiveness of the staff towards the end of the previously indicated time allocated for the table booking. Overall very nice experience albeit relatively pricey.
