Afternoon Tea at The Savoy
Guests can also indulge in Afternoon Tea in this comfortable and intimate spot accompanied by the hotel's resident pianist. Afternoon Tea at The Savoy is an enduring custom where guests can choose from a range of teas served with finger sandwiches, homemade scones with clotted cream & jam and a mouthwatering selection of cakes and pastries.
Afternoon Tea starts from £65.00 per person.
I would recommend this but with some reservations - it's not as good at the Ritz, basically, where the service is superior as is the ambience of the Palm Court and the price is about the same. But we enjoyed the experience and there is always a certain amount of chacun a son gout about these things - I have a friend who prefers the Savoy to the Ritz. So if I were with her and she wanted the Savoy, I would not have a problem about going back. I took my partner this time as it was his birthday and I wanted to give him a treat and go somewhere we had not been before, and it was a nice and enjoyable occasion. The rose champagne and food were good. The service was a bit slow - it could be difficult to attract attention. When staff appeared they were very friendly and helpful; I think there are probably not quite enough of them.
Really lovely afternoon tea, as much as you wanted to eat. More sandwiches and more cakes came out and we took some home! Be careful not to take them up on ‘another glass of champagne’. It’s not explained that this isn’t part of the deal and is £21 extra per glass.
Before booking a reservation, I did some research on the best afternoon teas in London. The Savoy did not disappoint. The staff is very friendly and attentive. I never felt rushed. The food was delicious, definitely arrive hungry. I can’t wait to come back.
Great experience at afternoon tea. Traditional English tea in a classy space. The food and service were fantastic, highly recommend.
Wonderful experience, staff very pleasant and the food quality superb, one little gripe, the tea wasn't piping hot but apart from that the afternoon was absolutely lovely!
I was disappointed in the first few moments we arrived at the venue as they said that they did not have a booking for us!It took several minutes for them to find a table and then offered us a complimentary glass of champagne. This despite showing them written proof of our booking.
This also, despite confirming our booking the day before, via the email that was sent by OpenTable.
I was thrilled with the tea at the Savoy but let down entirely by OpenTable. Will not book thro your app again!
We were celebrating our anniversary and the afternoon tea service was amazing! The food was fabulous and our wait staff made excellent recommendations for us. The lovely dessert cake with a special note from the The Savoy staff was such a lovely surprise. We will definitely be back should be visit London again!
We have Afternoon Tea at the Savoy every time we visit London. It is outstanding and we are never done.
Made to feel like I was the only customer there! The staff were attentive and knowledgeable
Excellent service and a very classy environment. All of the staff was very warm and welcoming.
We felt so pampered! I loved the ambience, wonderful pianist added so much to it. The food was delicious and we walked away completely full. Definitely would do it again and recommend it. Did not do it last time I was in London and so glad I did this visit!
What an absolutely amazing experience from the minute we walked through the doors.
Outstanding service, we were made to feel very special. The afternoon tea was beautifully presented and delicious. We were able to walk around the hotel an explore the most iconic hotel in the world. Can’t wait to visit again in the future.
The staff could not do enough for us to ensure we had a memorable afternoon. Thank you
Absolutely amazing afternoon tea, having tried the very best in London I was very impressed. Very rich choice of sandwiches which did mean tastebud overload / muddle but on the whole a wonderful experience.
We had a very enjoyable afternoon at the Savoy - probably London's greatest hotel
We had an absolutely amazing time having afternoon tea at The Savoy. Everything was just perfect. The entire experience was totally brilliant. Absolutely loved it.
This was certainly an amazing experience, if you like tradition this is the right address! The staff were super, friendly, attentive but not over powering. The feeling ob being spoilt was lovely, a perfect way to spend the afternoon with lots of carefully, beautifully made food - way too much. But what we couldn't manage to eat was packed up for us to take home. Thank you for a wonderful afternoon!
Super experience at the Savoy Hotel! Service was superb and the food was plenty and delicious.
Really enjoyed our first time doing afternoon tea.
The afternoon tea was exquisite and the service was very good. It tapered a bit at the end and we had to serve ourselves unlike in the beginning. The ambience was lovely and it was nice to graze at our own pace and listen to the piano being played.
Excellent stylish venue with traditional afternoon with impeccable service.
The afternoon tea was very poor the sandwiches was poor the cakes was all I can describe Was disgusting
This was one of the big highlights of my trip to London. The food was delicious and the service was spot on. There was a pianist playing which set the mood for the elegance of the room/hotel.
I would recommend the Savoy for tea if you are willing to pay a high price for atmosphere and white glove service. You could get tea at other places for a more reasonable amount and it might be just as good. But, if you want a great memory and a classy place, then go to the Savoy.
You and your colleagues made my afternoon, Matilda. You can waltz me any day at the gorgeous Savoy Hotel - but preferably in the tea salon with all kinds of delicacies, your exquisite service and generous refills of tea and sandwiches. And not to forget the beautiful live music. A truly memorable experience. Thank you, mates!
The staff were very friendly and very understanding when a mishap with a champagne glass threatened to spoil the the day. The food was a great mix of tastes all of which were wonderful even when we they were not something we would not normally try. All in all a very memorable experience and one that we would love to do again.
I didn’t expect to leave with a full stomach but we did! The ambience and service is exceptional. We were offered seconds and thirds for sandwiches and quiche bites and they would give you as much as you want til you say stop! The tea in bottomless. And the service is unparalleled. Go ahead and treat yourself!
Had an amazing afternoon tea with my good friend.
I would highly recommend it and the Beaufort bar for dri is afterwards. Enjoy!
Our visit to the Savoy for a High tea. My mum came over from France, she will be 70 year soon and I wanted to book something very special for my mother and stepfather. The Savoy has a prestigious reputation and I was prepared to pay a considerable amount of money for the experience.
This is how it went:
We arrived at the main door, expecting the door man to greet us and welcome us in. He was on the phone and barely acknowleged us
We weredirected to the main entrance, asked to wait before be sitted. Once directed to our table, our waitress came to greet us, she had a microporous plaster and cottoon her arm, it was pretty revolting ans shocking for the standart of this etablissement.
The tea and sandwiches were fine and the service was good, then another younger waitress came to take over, she served the tray of patisseries and scones on the table, the first waitress came to rush to our table and she explained that she gave us the wrong tray and we needed least cakes. I couldn't believe it. this is applauling service. The young girl apologised and told us she will put some cakes for us in a box to take homewent to empty some of the tray! I was so dissapointed for my effort to have wanted to take my mum to a experience of a life time.
The clientele is allowed to come in shorts while holding Sainsbury bags of shop, Shoking!
I was charged £240 for an experience that left me very dissapointed and in addition £30 service charges which I think it absolutly unjustified. A total of £270. Would you pay this considerable amount of money for what we have experienced
After being to the Ritz and several others I felt it was not on par with them.
The Savoy staff is one of the best. The Champagne was exquisite, and so were the treats and the food. our plates were constantly refilled. the piano player was excellent. it was a wonderful experience!
Lovely location and great staff. Sandwiches and scones were tasty but too much cake! Overall a tad expensive especially when they add the gratuity. But we enjoyed the occasion.
lovely setting, delicious tea sandwiches, service was very attentive with one exception of being able to get glasses of water despite asking multiple times. servers were very kind though. would definitely return for afternoon tea!
Fantastic afternoon tea, great for Mums 80th birthday celebration.
impeccable location, elegant and ready service, wonderful dishes, a fabulous birthday, unforgettable experience !! thanks to all the staff
everything about the experience was marvellous. service impeccable, food and drink were delicious, staff couldnt be more helpful..
Amazing service in an incredible atmosphere. Loved it!
It was wonderful as always with the exception of Nicholas Cage wandering through the tea room in a temper over something and giving the poor man from the hotel a hard time as he followed. People paid good money to have a calming and lovely tea and here comes a bizarrely dressed in leather man from Hollywood, once upon a time, tramping through and ruining everyone's experience. Was he auditioning for the latest Quinton Tarantino film? Does the Savoy provide entertainment now? Really, Cage should be made to reimburse people for the intrusion.
Felt very special & was looked after wonderfully. Would recommend this to any one who could afford it
Booked afternoon tea for a special birthday. Completely over the moon, enjoyed every moment of it.
Would definitely recommend it to anyone. We were made to feel very welcome and looked after from the moment we arrived.
Excellent experience will definitely be returning!!!
