Expensive but a great experience. Between the view and the wait staff we had a lovely time.

Realistically, I booked this for the view and the view is amazing. My table directly overlooked iconic modern buildings and tower bridge. Reception on arrival was warm and attentive. However the food was fairly average. The choice of sandwiches was very conventional, there were some vegetarian snacks, all could have been elevated even with picking popular choices like egg mayonnaise and coronation chicken (and I've had excellent coronation chicken elsewhere) and were fairly bland. The scones were very good as was the cream, blackberry jam an interesting but possibly less popular choice. The other cakes looked great but didn't taste wonderful and were fiddly to handle. The service was ok - the main server attending to my table was efficient but there seemed to be a lot of staff and a supervisor wandering round but not promptly clearly tables or checking in with customers. Service also seemed variable. Staff were incredibly attentive to a couple near me. I needed to ask for my tea - I had eaten all the savoury elements of the afternoon tea and this had still not arrived. When it did, the server had forgotten the milk and this delayed things further. Interestingly the couple nearby arrived long after me but received their pot of tea immediately and it was poured for them. I was not wanting this level of attention but curious about the variability in service. I couldn't eat everything on offer, it was filling but not delicious and the general experience for a 5 star hotel compared poorly to other afternoon tea experiences I have had. If the food and service can match the view it could be an incredible experience.

Almost too quiet some back ground ambient music might have been nice? Food amazing with brioche level it would have been nice to have something non vegan included rather can the pea burger AND a hummus dog? None the less an amazing Afternoon tea experience!

A “special occasion” tea that lives up to its promise. Lovely savories, creative pastries, great scones and a nice selection of of teas. A glass of champagne makes it extra special!

Poor service. Reservation at 12:30. Sited right away. Took 20 minutes to take our order. Another 15 to serve. The restaurant was less than 1/2 full. The food quality was average in taste, presentation and quality. Pros: awesome views if you get the window seats. There are definitely better afternoon teas in London. Skip this one.

The food was really nice and tasty, however the sandwiches had a dry outer as they had been left standing too long. The day was spoilt by the lack of attention, having to wait over 30 mins for a table to be ready when there were several already empty. When we did get a table a further 20 mins before getting a drink. For a venue with a reputation as theirs it was very disappointing.
