EVERYTHING about this restaurant is outstanding ! Th ambiance is exquisite, the food is delicious, the price point is perfect. Most importantly, our server, Sean, is their BIGGEST asset ! He made the whole experience that more enriched ! Look forward to doing it again and again !
I've never had a bad meal here. I used to go often when it was called Frank, and am happy to see that the quality has not suffered from the change of management, or whatever happened. This brunch was as lovely as expected, with great, friendly service and an absolutely delicious truffled mushroom benny.
The waiter was kind of rushing me. I didn't feel comfortable. He asked me if I finished my soup, I said no. And then I was just checking my phone, he took away my soup.from appetizer to main course to desert he was rushing it through as if he wanted to make it finish already I didn't feel like I was enjoying my time
Fabulous lunch, as always. Servers are friendly and know their menus. Just the right amount of attention and as always - great food. One of our party is a vegan and she was delighted with her meal too.
Service was top-notch and food very enjoyable. Thanks
Lovely server who was personable & efficient! Enjoyed 2 appetizers & dessert! All delicious, especially the pate. My friend bought a cookbook & the chef was very friendly & chatted with us & signed the book. My friend, from England, was pleased!
Our server was one of the best servers I have encountered. Truly a super star of the service industry. The food was also delicious.
Beautiful, clean restaurant with delicious food and friendly service. I felt awkward going in with a reservation for one (plus giant backpack, lol), but I didn’t feel out of place. I’ll definitely be back.
We particularly liked the appetizer option 3 items for a set price
We had truffle fries, escargot and olivesAll. Ery good and a nice startr
Our experience at AGO Bistro was phenomenal! The service we received was excellent, from the time we walked in to the time we left. The food was delicious, cooked to perfection, and beautifully plated. We will definitely be returning in the future!
We sat at the bar and had a lovely time. Starting with drinks and appetizers and then moving on to dinner and dessert. The bar man was efficient and professional, kept a considerate distance to attend when needed and left us to our visit when not. Food is excellent and a good value. I really like this venue from top to bottom.
Great for a special occasion. The Mothers Day Prix Fixe was fabulous and very affordable.
The restaurant itself is bland, and resembles a cafeteria - not at all what I expected for the "AGO Bistro." The food was okay, nothing exceptional or delicious. For dessert there was only one option and it wasn't my taste. The americano's were not rich. Lastly, the service was awful. Our server seemed like we were bothering him. He was not attentive and every time he did come by the table he would rush us and walk away before we were done placing an order. My family and I won't be back.
Prix Fixe is a great value and perfect to share. Server was helpful to my mother-in-law, and knowledgeable. First time for brunch, but the food was excellent, as it always is when we go later. Would go again, and would bring the mother-in-law.
Very good food and excellent service. Limited by very good menu. Recommended.
It was a great way to end a great day. I would recommend the AGO Bistro.
Very nice place with a gourmet food. Will come again.
Had dinner before seeing an exhibit. Overall my friend and I enjoyed our meal except the PEI mussels. They just were not as flavourful as expected. Kind of blah.
The duck confit sal ad was very nice and light and fresh. My friend had the cid which she liked and the fennel with it was very good. Overall it was good but would not get the mussels again.
Great place for apéros lunch or dinner after a visit to the AGO. Room is cool and funky - love the wood and glass wine rack wall . Food is yummy from the bistro burger to the delicate Fogo Island Cod and the super delicious flank steak ...oh did I mention the pasta - it’s scrumptious too!!
Lovely end to a great day at the AGO. Knowing we could have lunch after the exhibition viewing allowed more time at the AGO and take it in fully.
Excellent service by Marc, as always. Food was also very good, just like usual
Lovely vibe, great service and awesome food. What else do you need?
You can not go wrong eating here while visiting the AGO!
Exhibit inspire menu, always well prepared and plated!
Menu is limited but there is something that should suit everyone's taste. Interesting and a wonderful opportunity to try something different. Even the burger looks amazing!
Generally just fine, its reasonably quick and it is the most convenient place to eat when you have timed tickets. Prices are questionable at time. Overall a good experience and our waitress was clever and funny.
Creative menu. Our goat cheese soufflés were moist yet somewhat like a savoury cake. Delicious!! Nice selection of wine by the glass. Lovely prelude to an afternoon at the AGO. We’re coming back.
Service was professional and very cordial. Both our host and server were happy making it a very nice atmosphere in which to enjoy lunch. My negative comments have to do with the wine list. Bottles of white wine started at $50.00 and worked their way up. The ambiance is one of efficiency not romance thereby not warranting the prices. If there were linen table cloths and a quieter area where someone felt they could linger over a meal maybe you could ask $70.00 for a bottle of wine that costs $20.00 at the LCBO but not the sterile environment where I ate lunch. Your servers made my experience enjoyable. The menu had a nice cross section of light lunch choices. The serving sizes were standard for a set menu. The presentation for dessert was lovely. I would suggest your venue to anyone visiting the AGO. I do not think I would recommend it for a leisurely lunch however.
We had a great lunch -- interesting variety of veggies and meat -- plus very tasty and good service! Also great cocktails.
Lunch was delicious and just enough! Also had room for dessert.
It was lovely. The food was excellent and the service was very good. They even had a Birthday candle for my sister for dessert.
AGO Bistro is a lovely spot for a drink, lunch or dinner and if you're visiting the gallery, it's a perfect before or after stop.
The food and service were excellent - I think the wine was more expensive than most places I go.
I used to love this place, been here many times. Was even here for lunch less than a week prior to this reservation. That review would have been spectacular, the usual, or so I thought. I made a special reservation for myself, my partner, and both of our moms. We were doing lunch and a member's preview of the Yayoi Kusama permanent room. We came in and the host walked us through an empty lower level to then bring us to an empty upper level and seat us at their worst table, lodged between the main aisle, prep station, and open kitchen expo. I then asked if we could change to one of the few empty booths on the lower level. I was told they were being saved for parties of 5. After I asked again, because I was shocked, I was still refused the table. We then settled on the next supposedly available table, lodged between the bathroom and another prep station. At least it wasn't as noisy. It was still a struggle of movements whenever the staff gathered at the prep station. Our lunch lasted about an 1.5 hours total. Our waiter was kind but barely attentive, a bit aggressive, and often flustered. As we waited for our coffees (which we spent 20 min trying to order and decided to just get the cheque), a group of 3 was sat at the lovely open booth on the lower level, which until 10 minutes before we left sat empty. The same table refused to me and being saved exclusively for a party of 5. These may seem like small issues but when you are dropping hundreds of dollars on a lunch that you made a reservation for, it makes it a bit bigger. Coupled with the fact that less than a week earlier I was there with a client, had the best 3 hour lunch, in a pact restaurant, and in a booth that could have been "saved" as a 3 top. I will purposely remind myself of this and next time we head into the AGO I will spend my money somewhere else. When poor service and inadequate design trumps pretty good food and ease of location, it seems like the downfall of yet another restaurant at the AGO.
Our lunch was fabulous and the service outstanding!
Great staff, interesting and refreshing menu. Nice spot before or after visit to AGO!
Excellent Easter lunch!
The greens for the salad were old the dressing was covering them.
We enjoyed brunch with our family. The service was especially pleasant. One suggestion is that additional non- egg menu items would have been appreciated but everyone in our party enjoyed their selections.
Great atmosphere and convenient to AGO being on the premises. Nice brunch selection. Reservations recommended.
Absolutely phenomenal: everything was great but the food is real masterpiece
Highly recommend as it Ben prices are reasonable at AGO Bistro
