Our restaurant is are stone’s throw away from O2 Shepherds Bush Empire, which makes our restaurant an ideal choice not only for locals but for gig visitors, who would like to enjoy the finest of the Indian cuisine just before the show starts.
We have been serving quality Indian food here in Shepherds Bush since 1978 at very affordable prices. We at Ajanta Restaurant go the extra mile to bring you a truly authentic experience of the Indian cuisine with a wide variety of the most traditional Indian dishes.
Our customers’ loyalty comes from the enjoyment of the delicious Indian food we serve and the nice, welcoming atmosphere and environment Ajanta Restaurant offers.
Good food. Lovely prawn purée. Nice waiters. Great value!
An agreeable experience. Very well situated, we were well looked after. The food was well prepared, tasty and served promptly.
Great meal but slightly more expensive than some Indian restaurants I’ve experienced but you pay for good quality. Would of loved if the tikka starters came on sizzler plates.
Excellent food and very good value for money. Draft beer available.
Second time this year we’ve eaten here after a show. We both like Indian and this was convenient after going to a concert. First visit wasn’t to bad. This visit was really disappointing. We booked it for 11pm after concert finished. I confirmed the booking the previous day. When we arrived at 10.50 they said they tried to call us because they wanted to close because it was quite. We were in the concert so didn’t hear the call.
Anyway they sat us down and it was obvious they wanted us , quick order then the waiter hovering around to clear the courses as quick as they can, we felt really awkward and unwelcome and it rather spoilt our night. If they don’t want to open don’t say you are when we booked. Pity was the food was ok
Good Food but a bit on the expensive side. Good choice of lagers on draught
I tried out Ajanta when last going to a concert at the Empire. So, back at the Empire we dropped in for a pre-show bite. It was just as good as I remembered with a friendly welcome. I shared with daughter and we had the lamb karahi which was deliciously tender and king prawn jalfrezi which had real bite. Fortunately daughter had remembered to order some raita to keep us cool. Will be back next time I'm at the Empire.
popped in pre gig for early dinner, service was very friendly, food authentic good value for money
Perfectly good local Indian restaurant, without being anything very special. Quite typical menu, tasty and well-presented food, service was fine, decent value. Better than some of the other Indian restaurants in Shepherd's Bush and we would not hesitate to come here again if in the area, which we are quite often, and in the mood for an Indian meal.
Very pleasant surroundings, great food, and excellent service.
The music was very quite and almost creepy
The service can take a while to get a drink
but it is nice and a fair price... overall we were happy
Good choice of curries.. Friendly and helpful service. Good value.
Mussten etwas länger warten. Ich glaube wegen gleichzeitigem Ausserhaus-Service.
Great food, welcoming staff, enjoyed the food Thankyou do a lovely evening
Not my first time at Ajanta - we are regulars now! Always good food, great service. We were the only ones in the restaurant for an hour on New Years Eve and were very well looked after. Waiters are polite and attentive, and even treated us to a free glass of Baileys! We will be back, definitely recommend.
Very nice indean food.👍 real indean food in an area where not a lot of restaurant opportunities are. To do when @ shepherd bush
Lovely food . Friendly staff . Complementary drinks
The food was good especially the lamb shank, good range of flavours. Disabled access to the restaurant was ok but no disabled loo. The service was very slow, so slow we joked about ordering something from uber eats. However, when it arrived it was good and we had a good time.
Beautiful curry. Good service.
We were here for a pre-show meal before going to the Empire and point 1, the location is great because it's just round the corner. We had a friendly welcome and, importantly for a pre-show, service was quick. The food was good, although my balti was better than daughter's bhuna. Next time I have a show at the Empire I'll be back.
Reserved a table for a bit of post shopping dinner.
Restaurant was clean and the staff friendly and polite.
We weren't rushed at all and felt we had a relaxing meal.
Food was very good, I had lamb dopiaza and it was spot on, tender lamb and sweet onions.
Would recommend this restaurant.
We were a group of 20 people coming for a short stay in London. We booked by internet from France.
The service was perfect in a very good ambiance and the food was delicious!
Very good and interesting food at a very reasonable price.
We were staying at the Dorsett hotel and were looking for a nice restaurant in the area. We were lucky to find this place as this was one of the best Indian restaurant we've tried so far. The food was excellent, the staff very friendly and warm. This is definitely a place that we recommend and that we will look forward to going back again. The chicken tikka masala and the cheese nan were excellent. Thank you again for your welcome !
