Akbar's established in 1995 with 12 branches in the UK now opens it's doors in Blackburn with the most vibrant interior design located at King Georges' Hall. Authentic curry at it's best open from 5pm Monday to Sunday. Come and try our signature lamb chops, karahi dishes, giant nan bread and a very carefully selected choice of wines, beer and spirits. This is my 5th visit since the restaurant opened...it is our favourite restaurant. Not only is the food excellent, the staff are attentive and prompt and the restaurant is super clean...keep up the good work guys!

Lovely staff and service but food is just not up to standard. Ate at the original restaurant in Bradford numerous times over the years but it was much better then. The chicken was dry in the curry and the sauce tasted like jar curry sauce. Even the rice didn't taste authentic it was like uncle Ben's microwave sauce. For the price the food needs to be better.

Food was awful. Food wasn’t cooked. I’ve been to the other branches. Food is spot on but the one in Blackburn no not worth going.

When we arrived we were shown straight to our table, the staff were friendly and efficient. The food was very nice and the service was fast. Overall we had a good experience, the only downside was our seating was quite near the toilets which we didn’t notice at first but wasn’t really a problem.

I felt that things were rushed, we no sooner had been seated and we were asked for drinks at least twice before we had chance to look at the drink’s menu. Service was on the slow side. Some ordered desserts which came at all different times, one person had to wait a long time, by the time the dessert had arrived the others had finished. I had to send by meal back due to the chicken being tough, I thought it was a raw potato at first. Would I return I’m not sure, the price is average, some things were a little over average. The décor is bright and colourful.
