Al - Forno Shepherd's Bush
All of our chefs have studied and had many years of experience in Italy in the beautiful surroundings of Naples where still today you can eat the best pizza in Italy.
Over the years Al Forno Shepherd’s Bush became famous for its original simple Italian food and the atmosphere that is talked about around the world.
Located in the heart of Shepherds Bush, Al Forno offers plenty of seats outside in our fully heated forecourt and a beautiful view over the park creating a cosy atmosphere perfect for either a business lunch or for a leisurely evening meal with family and friends.
Is this part of the Al Forno chain or is it a franchise? If so it does not compare to the other Al Forno restaurants.
Food was ok but presentation was poor. It was empty and the tables were dirty. Considering it was not busy service is minimal, the button to call works but this takes away from the experience there is no quality check and no up-selling took place.
For that reason value for money is poor although not really expensive.
A few people allowed of the street to sit and smoke not sure if anything was ordered this gives it a low end feel. Not as portrayed on your website.
My experience was ruined by visiting the ladies toilet first, it was dirty and unusable. Knowing the toilet was so bad, I feared the hygiene in the kitchen would not be what it should. Having said that I was with a large group and had to eat, the pizza I ordered was nice, it was was a leggara one, so lighter and less cheese than their normal pizzas. Another person in the group ordered a pizza from their normal range and he found it way too cheesy, he was unable to eat it. Another friend ordered the risotto, she said it lacked flavour, those who ordered the pasta said it was ok.
Great value for money, huge portions, helpful staff. Ambience is a little tourist-y but we enjoyed our dinner with a group of friends. Toilet fully equipped with baby-changing facility & clean which is definitely a plus!
The service was poorly. One of our orders was given to another table. The waiter was constantly leaning over us and against us when serving. It made me feel very uncomfortable. He also failed to clear away the dirty dishes between courses. I was very disappointed. Also I ordered the salmon, and it literally was salmon with veggies thrown on a plate. I can make the same dish at home.
I would always recommend Al Forno. It is a very friendly place with some great food to really good value for money. Perfect place to have dinner before going to a concert at the O2 Shepherds Bush - since only 2 minutes walk from here.
This is a great place to eat particularly if you're off to the Shepherds Bush Empire or doing a bit of shopping at Westfields. Really good food and fantastic prices given the location. The portion sizes were generous and the Limoncello flute was particularly good. Would definitely recommend.
Came for a birthday dinner. Staff were lovely and provided a cake slice (which we were charged 7.95 for, more than the price of one 12'' pizza). Food was good value for money but pizza could have been more crispy base and pasta with slightly more flavor. Drinks were good, would recommend the house red wine. Would prefer more pasta options for vegetarians.
Fast delivery-good value for money.
Value for money it is impossible to beat Al Forno. Really nice restaurant with friendly staff, great food and always a pleasant surprise when you get the bill. Can only highly recommend this place.
I have been to Al Forno quite a few times when going to a concert at Shepherd's Bush. The staff is always friendly and the food is excellent value for money so I can only recommend the place.
A friend and I went to Al Forno for dinner before going to a concert in the O2 Shepherd's Bush Empire. It is a nice and friendly place and the food is lovely as well. You get really good value for money and the portions are huge - so we were struggling a bit to eat both a starter and main. Can only recommend this place and it just around the corner from the concert place.
Pastas were delicious and of good portion sizes. Service was also good.
Restaurant itself is a little cramped inside and was quite warm. Outdoor seating is available but we missed it as we had a late reservation.
Would come back again :)
Really nice authentic Italian. Staff are lovely and attentive and the atmosphere is very relaxed. We were off to a concert at the Shepherd’s Bush Empire and it was a great choice as very close by and so relaxed we were not rushed at all. Menu is very extensive and also great for kids.
It is highly recommended for casual dinner with friends/families.
It was my daughter's 9th birthday and the staffs and guests really celebrated with songs and cheers. It was unforgettable night for my family. Additionally, foods were great and very promising with very casual style. The service was very nice and we really enjoyed the time. Finally, there is a 10% discount with opt-ins so if you want to pursue more value-for-money, the place is all yours.
I'm a regular customer and their food and service are great.
It can get quite noisy, particularly during busy periods (Friday evening and weekends)
Great value for money, be warned huge portions make sure you have an appetite
Visited last Sunday with 3 friends. We're going back next Sunday - Says it all really!!!
Eat before concert at the Empire really good food at realistic prices will certainly use again
Being from northern NJ, I'm spoiled when it comes to pizza, so I have high expectations. Dough had no chew whatsoever but the rest of the flavor was good. House wines were also very good.
We arrived late for a pre theatre dinner. The restaurant could not have been more understanding or more helpful to get us fed in the short time we had. The food was still excellent, the waiters were unrushed and friendly. Seated by choice at the outdoor tables, we had a really excellent, if short, evening here. Highly recommend them.
Was very satisfied with my visit to Al Forno. Not the best quality of food in the whole world but generous portion size and great price. Would definitely reccommend and would eat there again if in that part of London.
We were a group of friends that caught up there. Friendly, cosy,
basic and tasty Italian food. Reasonably priced and cosy. A good place to meet in Shepherds Bush Green and pretty quite, so you can hear one another. Good value for money.
