love alcove :)
Great location with a nice view of the Zakim Bridge. Very windy the night we were there so be prepared if your outside. Server was friendly and informative Drinks were good and the food was very good. View menu before to make sure they have what you want to eat.
Great patio and friendly server. The Zucchini fritters were nice, the burger was very mediocre. Still made for a nice summer evening get togeter!
AWESOME as always!!!! The atmosphere, the location, the service, the food! ALL absolutely OUTSTANDING!!!
Food was much better than in previous times eating there. Get sitting outdoors. Very expensive for what you get. Will recommend but be cautious of price.
Outdoor seating was fun, my pork chop was very tasty and the beet salad was excellent!
It was too loud to eat outside, because of the traffic and the trains idling at North Station. We ate inside. The food was just so-so. We had burgers and fish tacos. The bill was large.
The atmosphere, service and food are all superb at Alcove. Our server was attentive and very well informed. She gave us excellent recommendations for wine, food and dessert. I had the striped bass collar - delicious and perfectly cooked and amazingly reasonably priced. Do recommend the beets. You can't go wrong. Love the location in a part of the city that I hadn't explored as well.
Very accommodating to covid concerns. Great service. Food was also excellent quality.
Incredible food, definitely recommend sitting outside for a beautiful sunset to accompany dinner and drinks! Wait staff was wonderful as well!
Great space, good service, but a bit pricey - raw bar was great
AWESOME as always/usual! Thank you Tom and your AMAZING team!!!
We had a table outside and enjoyed the sunset over the water. Great ambiance! I had several vegetarian small dishes that I enjoyed very much and the service was very friendly. Recommend!
We were looking for outdoor seating by the water for lunch on our recent trip to Boston to see the Red Sox. Alcove was
perfect. Great outdoor patio and the food and service were excellent.
Great menu! The waiter gave us plenty of recommendations and we were both pleased with our cocktails and apps.
Sorry folks. I wasn't wowed by the food. The scallops were dry and tough; the chicken was just OK. And the sound from the highway was especially loud last night.
Interesting location near the Zakim bridge and TD Bank Garden, on the water. A bit loud due to the highway but otherwise has a very pleasant patio. Food is good and staff is well-versed in wine selections. Enjoyed it a lot for a birthday dinner.
Delightful outdoor dining area with a nice view of the water.
We had high expectations because of the ambience, location and price but it was disappointing. I was with 2 others and all three dishes were over cooked and mushy. Even the dessert was dry and uninteresting.
Great restaurant and staff is well trained! Outside space has spectacular views!
Alcove is amazing. Staff and management is great and food is good. They accommodated all our requests. Will surely come back!
We loved the location of the restaurant, outdoor seating/views and the chill ambiance (brunch). Our waitress was very professional and helpful with the menu items. We ordered quite a few, to get a good taste of it all. The winners were the broccoli salad (small, but great flavors) with a sizeable chicken addition. The zucchini fritters were also a stand-out with complex flavors. On the other end of satisfactory range was the focaccia (flavorless and not fresh). One small piece for a table of 4 wasn't worth even the small price of $4. The fish tacos were also disappointing. The 2 tiny pieces of fish were overwhelmed by all the other ingredients. Crispy brussel sprouts were not crispy at all and the chick peas were chewy. The nice flavors almost saved this dish. It if weren't advertised as crispy, the expectation may have been different. The maki roll appetizer had nice fresh ingredients and it was nice that there was no rice as filler. Again, a bit small for sharing. The fried chicken sandwich was very good and would order this again, along with the broccoli salad, if adding something more to it (we had it 2 ways). On its own was very small, and with protein, a more satisfying lunch.
Chic ambiance but food was not worth the price. Expected more seafood options as well.
Quiet inside, energetic and beautiful outside on a summer night. Excellent food and service.
Great service. Memorable dining with our two families. Noise from 93 is loud, but what can you do. Beautiful otherwise!
Our sangria was halfway filled, bellow the level of the ice. Not sure what was up with that, but there were about 4 sips in the glass.
Alcove used to be a favorite but the food and service were just so-so this time. New menu is pretty boring, no one loved what they ordered, and drink service was super slow.
Absolutely fabulous meal with family!! Couldn’t have found a better place for an early dinner before they flew away. Thanks for the perfect end to a fabulous vacation!
Oysters & ambiance were great... everything else was.. not.
Small liquor selection for what’s supposed to be a high end restaurant.
Green peppers were over seasoned in chili flakes, diluted the true taste.
Fish tacos had so much slaw and guacamole that we couldn’t taste the fish or very much of anything.
I have never left a review but felt inclined as we did not enjoy the food.
Came here to celebrate birthday with family and the food was wonderful- everyone loved their dishes and our waitress was awesome! We would definitely come back!
Really great wine, wonderful ambience and customer service
Convenient to north station and a much nicer place than the usual pub in the area. Great atmosphere inside. Outside patio was also nice but you do hear the noise from the highway. The staff was very friendly and attentive. The food was okay. I had a sangria which tasted fine but was a small pour and had no ice or garnish. The fish tacos had a nice piece of blackened fish but the slaw and aioli were a bit bland. Overall I would go back for the atmosphere and try something new.
This modern neighborhood restaurant is always topnotch. Tom S. and his team make you feel like you are a guest in their home. And the team is professional, have seen many of them for over a year. Whether it was during the pandemic or now--safety was never compromised. Party of five had delicious cocktails, oysters, fish tacos, grilled chicken, burger, salad. All were so good.
One of the prettiest patios in Boston hands down.
Excellent service, delicious food, and an outstanding atmosphere. What more can you ask for?
Alcove is a gem in Lovejoy Wharf. The views of Zakim bridge are spectacular as is the ambience. I went there on a Sunday afternoon. The drinks are top quality and came out quickly. For the appetizers, we ordered the zucchini, peppers, and pickled asparagus -- all fantastic. My main course was the sea bass, which was cooked to perfection.
I will keep coming to alcove! The quality of the food has persisted throughout COVID, as has the service. Highly recommend!
Alcove is an absolute hidden gem that I constantly forget is tucked away right down the street from me; my recent Saturday night dinner there was a reminder that I really must visit more often. Excellent cocktail menu, great food for both small plates and mains (not to mention a stellar listing of specials), and very friendly service. You'll see me back for a glass of wine and snack soon!
Incredible evening as usual!! It was with a party of nine and literally every single person there loved it! Everyone left with the biggest smile on their face and so completely satisfied! Everything, the space, the food, the service, the drinks! All of it was outstanding! Thank you Tom and Team for the never ending hard work to bring so much joy to so many!
Always a treat, never disappointed. Inside or outside, if vaccinated you will feel safe. It was wonderful to see a full crowd enjoying the night. Sea bass, prosciutto bites & tuna tartare were scrumptious
Love this riverside place
Food was absolutely fantastic and the cocktail menu was extremely unique. I was obsessed with the caviar course featuring chips and French onion dip- so fun and delicious. Highly recommend the prosciutto bites as well. Heaven in a bite!
We came when it was pretty busy and even still our server was quick and efficient without rushing us in any way. 10/10 experience, I wish I had more room in my stomach to have tried more food!
