Head Chef Patrick Powell, formerly of Chiltern Firehouse, invites guests to embrace convivial dining from long, lazy lunches through to late night dinners.
Allegra’s interiors fuse cutting-edge style with cosy, old-world opulence designed by Space Copenhagen (the team behind Noma) which flows onto the Allegra terrace where you can walk-in for drinks, sharing dishes and small plates from a more casual menu. Try our carefully selected wine offering from our sommelier or Allegra’s signature cocktails before exploring the cedar-pathed Sky Garden overlooking the London skyline.
The staff is great! Super quick service and very friendly.
Can’t fault it. Every course was beautifully presented and the flavours were outstanding.
The restaurant is very well staffed and were eager to please.
I would recommend this restaurant - we had a drink in the bar below (at street level) but wish we had used the bar at Allegra instead.
Great to have a place like this in Stratford. Modern, slick interior with a great rooftop bar for when it's not raining. Really good service topped off with some great food.
Great location ambience. Super staff.
The food at Allegra was amazing- from the profiterole filled with chicken liver mousse to the lamb neck stew that was fork tender- really great. The service was charming and friendly, and there were some great wines on the list at reasonable prices. The only weird thing about it was that they keep the curtains closed so you don't get to see out the windows.
Brilliant service! Servers were very attentive. I had the Weekend Lunch menu, which was great value for money. Food was great too! Custard tart was delish! Would definitely go back and recommend
We had a lovely dinner for 2 at Allegra. The food was generally very tasty and we'll prepared. The staff were great and very attentive.
Overall a very enjoyable experience at this new restaurant. The only downside is the menu was not great value for money in my opinion compared with other places we have been to recently. Although I won't be in a rush to return for dinner, I'm certainly happy to return for the great cocktails.
Crab starter too sweet. Mains too small. Left hungry.
exquisite seasonal and sustainable menu in a uniquely serene and tastefully curated setting
Excellent service and the food was great as well! Great venue for a special occasion!
Amazing food and service
Tasting menu and wine pairing
Wonderful food and great service. Very welcoming place. Had a really fun night
Dreadful experience. Food portions are perhaps the smallest I have ever encountered anywhere. We had a starter each, bread (which they charge for) main and two desserts each. Had to have beans on toast when I got home.
The soda bread was probably the best part of the meal. Onion soup was tasty but the quantity was so misjudged for the price charged.
Roast chicken for 2 people is a joke.
The image conjures up hearty warming food.
A wonderful bronzed bird was paraded at the table and then whisked away. The plated meat cannot surely be from the same animal as it was bland and coated in sticky paste like mushrooms.
Despite the menu claiming you get a whole roast chicken they in fact serve you only the breast. What a con.
The accompanying sides were again insubstantial with potatoes advertised as roasted in fact hard and more boiled in texture.
Out of 200 odd venues I have been to in London this is by far one of the most disappointing and overpriced.
Impeccable service, great wine recommendation from the Somm (Luigi), and every dish was prepared well. Perfectly cooked steak!
We visited Allegra for a Sunday lunch the first weekend they were open so the restaurant was very quiet, one of only three parties dining there. The decor is beautiful and the outside terrace will be lovely in the summer with great views over the Olympic Park.
The starters were very tasty but slightly confusing as to how to order and what you were getting. The main courses (one lamb and one plaice) were both perfect but a side salad or vegetables were an extra costs outside of the set lunch price.
Desert choices quite limited and cheese plate is, again, an additional cost. Staff very attentive and helpful.
Had a fantastic dining experience here last night. High praise for the all the staff. The food was delicious! Great night in a beautiful restaurant.
We were lucky to get a table on Allegra’s second night. The attention to detail in the team’s preparation is impressive - including the beautiful unique glasses and porcelain butter knives. And the food sourcing, including references to their own farm and local suppliers is heart warming.
You can tell that this is going to be a great venue, with quality food and service, but a first week is always hard. The wheels need oiling - we went from seeming to have 3 waiters to being abandoned! - food was unexplained, late and disorganised, but you can tell that they have the expertise and enthusiasm to fix the little issues.
Favourite thing? Being surprised by some of the best tomatoes we have ever tasted (from their farm!) - which indicates the overall quality of food.
Disappointment? It was dark and raining and so we got no sense of being on a rooftop or having a view.
Hope? That we will be back soon to give 5 stars!
Delicious food that is impeccably presented. The staff was lovely too! Well worth the visit to Stratford to enjoy this beautiful building and terrace as well.
Serene and calm atmosphere, lovely bar and restaurant. The food was generally very good (the Pistachio Choux was outstanding) but the menu wasn't the most inspiring/interesting. Overall a lovely, high quality place.
Food: The food is expensive but no more than other restaurants of the same calibre. That said, one of our starters was quite bland and the pork I ordered for my main was dry.
Service: I visited Allegra on their opening night. There were a few hiccups such as staff bringing the wrong food to our table, and waiting too long for starters as the chef was having issues with one of their signature dishes which we’d ordered (subsequently we had to change our order). Even so, the staff are outstanding and a real asset to the restaurant.
Overall: I think Allegra has real potential. It’s a stunning restaurant and I would go back, most likely for lunch, or early next year once they’ve ironed everything out.
Everything very new , the staff were very welcoming and extremely helpful but not too intrusive The decor was modern and well conceived, the atmosphere was pleasantly quiet for a modern restaurant. The food was unusual in its choice of ingredients and combinations, beautifully presented and the flavours were fabulous. Some of the dishes were a little on the small side but for us this was compensated for by the excellent flavours of everything on the plates. A very good start for this restaurant.
