Head Chef Patrick Powell, formerly of Chiltern Firehouse, invites guests to embrace convivial dining from long, lazy lunches through to late night dinners.
Allegra’s interiors fuse cutting-edge style with cosy, old-world opulence designed by Space Copenhagen (the team behind Noma) which flows onto the Allegra terrace where you can walk-in for drinks, sharing dishes and small plates from a more casual menu. Try our carefully selected wine offering from our sommelier or Allegra’s signature cocktails before exploring the cedar-pathed Sky Garden overlooking the London skyline.
Delicious food, impeccable service, helpful sommelier.
A new restaurant so was still a little quiet, would have liked a couple more choices on the menu nevertheless food was very good although a touch pricey for the area.
I will be back with friends the end of the month !
Very good Plaice dish. Excellent quality of produce. Nice cooking
Lovely environment to dine in and the quality and presentation of the food was excellent. The weekend lunch menu needs a bit more variety or perhaps have an a la carte option also. Desserts on this menu were quite limited and niche. Excellent drinks menu especially the beer choices.
Highly recommend. Could not fault one single thing. The food was incredible, the service was exquisite. Staff were jus so lovely, could have stayed all night! Didn't want to leave. 100% will be returning!
Great new upmarket joint that stands out from the Stratford restaurant community.
Conor was amazing
The service was so poor. They did a mistake with our food. It took 1 hour to be served after the first course, despite asking about the status to three waiters we were ignore.
Towards the end of the main meal we were never asked if we wanted desert or coffee. At that point I gave up I just order the bill and rightly so refused to pay service charge.
went early on in its life - nice food - think it will be fabulous when the days are longer and you can sit outside and enjoy the garden and the views (indoor bar area is small and slightly uncomfortable
Really impressed with our first visit here. The good was delicious and given that it has only recently opened the service was very slick, all their staff were on top of their game. We will definitely go back when the roof terrace has opened. It's great to have something of this quality in East London.
Allegra was amazing! It was close to, if not, the best meal we have had in London to date! Will most definitely be back. Venue is lovely too!
Could have asked for a better evening! Staff friendly and attentive. The food was to die for, not what I was expecting at all having lived in the area for over 20 years and to finally have real food.
Minor decor issues and finishing touches, this though is through out the hotel. Lacks pride. Unlike the food we were served this evening it’s showed skill and pride in every dish, even the accompaniments to the the bread and decor of the puddings. We will be back...
A high end experience in East London, the staff are welcoming and friendly and the restaurant would not be out of place in the West End or NYC. The pricing also reflects the quality on offer and level of service, happy to recommend and will certainly return.
Conrad and the team are settling in nicely. Achill Oysters truly amazing. Thanks.
Amazing food. Fantastic service! Wonderful atmosphere and you can actually hear each other which is rare in London restaurants. Food was absolutely delicious. Only mild feedback is that portions are on the small side.
Second time dining here and it was even more impressive than the previous.
From the moment we entered the restaurant we were so well looked after. Our lovely waitress was so knowledgeable and enthusiastic about the menu, she definitely helped us with our menu choices. The food was exceptional! The choux buns with chicken liver pate were amazing, as were the beetroot and blue cheese snacks. For starters I had the chicken wings and dumplings, this dish was so satisfying, for main course I had the suckling pig, again delicious. The sides of potatoes, mushrooms and salad leaves were all just perfection. The dressing on the salad was mouth tingling. We followed up with a cheese selection and four of the deserts to share. My favourite being the baked custard, not overly sweet just lovely. And finally salted caramel chocolates. The perfect finish to the perfect meal.
Also cant forget the cocktails again delicious!
Fine environment, very quiet, perfect for a couple or friend dinner. The space is bright. Very nice food.
Best dish: pork.
Food was world class, and unbelievable value for money.
Taste, flavours and menu choice perfect!
A truly amazing lunch, can’t wait to come back for dinner.
Truly an amazing experience, highly recommended.
We are fine dining lovers and we've tried beetroot tartar, scallops, baked artichokes, veal and apple tartine. The best dish was the veal. It was close to what the fine dining dishes are about. The rest did not stand out. neither the taste nor the ingredients. I would definitely come back as the ambience is pleasant but would not expect exclusivity. No doubt that it's the best restaurant in East London. Worth a try!
Couldn’t fault food or service, would definitely return.
The staff is great! Super quick service and very friendly.
Can’t fault it. Every course was beautifully presented and the flavours were outstanding.
The restaurant is very well staffed and were eager to please.
I would recommend this restaurant - we had a drink in the bar below (at street level) but wish we had used the bar at Allegra instead.
Great to have a place like this in Stratford. Modern, slick interior with a great rooftop bar for when it's not raining. Really good service topped off with some great food.
Great location ambience. Super staff.
The food at Allegra was amazing- from the profiterole filled with chicken liver mousse to the lamb neck stew that was fork tender- really great. The service was charming and friendly, and there were some great wines on the list at reasonable prices. The only weird thing about it was that they keep the curtains closed so you don't get to see out the windows.
Brilliant service! Servers were very attentive. I had the Weekend Lunch menu, which was great value for money. Food was great too! Custard tart was delish! Would definitely go back and recommend
We had a lovely dinner for 2 at Allegra. The food was generally very tasty and we'll prepared. The staff were great and very attentive.
Overall a very enjoyable experience at this new restaurant. The only downside is the menu was not great value for money in my opinion compared with other places we have been to recently. Although I won't be in a rush to return for dinner, I'm certainly happy to return for the great cocktails.
Crab starter too sweet. Mains too small. Left hungry.
exquisite seasonal and sustainable menu in a uniquely serene and tastefully curated setting
Excellent service and the food was great as well! Great venue for a special occasion!
Amazing food and service
Tasting menu and wine pairing
Wonderful food and great service. Very welcoming place. Had a really fun night
Dreadful experience. Food portions are perhaps the smallest I have ever encountered anywhere. We had a starter each, bread (which they charge for) main and two desserts each. Had to have beans on toast when I got home.
The soda bread was probably the best part of the meal. Onion soup was tasty but the quantity was so misjudged for the price charged.
Roast chicken for 2 people is a joke.
The image conjures up hearty warming food.
A wonderful bronzed bird was paraded at the table and then whisked away. The plated meat cannot surely be from the same animal as it was bland and coated in sticky paste like mushrooms.
Despite the menu claiming you get a whole roast chicken they in fact serve you only the breast. What a con.
The accompanying sides were again insubstantial with potatoes advertised as roasted in fact hard and more boiled in texture.
Out of 200 odd venues I have been to in London this is by far one of the most disappointing and overpriced.
Impeccable service, great wine recommendation from the Somm (Luigi), and every dish was prepared well. Perfectly cooked steak!
We visited Allegra for a Sunday lunch the first weekend they were open so the restaurant was very quiet, one of only three parties dining there. The decor is beautiful and the outside terrace will be lovely in the summer with great views over the Olympic Park.
The starters were very tasty but slightly confusing as to how to order and what you were getting. The main courses (one lamb and one plaice) were both perfect but a side salad or vegetables were an extra costs outside of the set lunch price.
Desert choices quite limited and cheese plate is, again, an additional cost. Staff very attentive and helpful.
Had a fantastic dining experience here last night. High praise for the all the staff. The food was delicious! Great night in a beautiful restaurant.
We were lucky to get a table on Allegra’s second night. The attention to detail in the team’s preparation is impressive - including the beautiful unique glasses and porcelain butter knives. And the food sourcing, including references to their own farm and local suppliers is heart warming.
You can tell that this is going to be a great venue, with quality food and service, but a first week is always hard. The wheels need oiling - we went from seeming to have 3 waiters to being abandoned! - food was unexplained, late and disorganised, but you can tell that they have the expertise and enthusiasm to fix the little issues.
Favourite thing? Being surprised by some of the best tomatoes we have ever tasted (from their farm!) - which indicates the overall quality of food.
Disappointment? It was dark and raining and so we got no sense of being on a rooftop or having a view.
Hope? That we will be back soon to give 5 stars!
Delicious food that is impeccably presented. The staff was lovely too! Well worth the visit to Stratford to enjoy this beautiful building and terrace as well.
Serene and calm atmosphere, lovely bar and restaurant. The food was generally very good (the Pistachio Choux was outstanding) but the menu wasn't the most inspiring/interesting. Overall a lovely, high quality place.
Food: The food is expensive but no more than other restaurants of the same calibre. That said, one of our starters was quite bland and the pork I ordered for my main was dry.
Service: I visited Allegra on their opening night. There were a few hiccups such as staff bringing the wrong food to our table, and waiting too long for starters as the chef was having issues with one of their signature dishes which we’d ordered (subsequently we had to change our order). Even so, the staff are outstanding and a real asset to the restaurant.
Overall: I think Allegra has real potential. It’s a stunning restaurant and I would go back, most likely for lunch, or early next year once they’ve ironed everything out.
