Good menu. Interesting cocktails. Cool decor and mood lighting. The food was nice but felt it could of had a bit more punch and flavour. Reasonable prices. They made a mistake with our order but were happy to take it off the price.
Absolutely loved Ally Chow. I booked for 16 people and the staff could not have been more accommodating from booking to increasing the numbers on our booking to helping us decide what food and drinks to order to splitting the bill 16 ways! The food and drinks were exceptional! Can't wait to come back and try the banquet. Thank you Ally Chow for an amazing night for my friend :)
The food in the banquet was amazing. Delicious, fresh and interesting!
Rafa and guys make you feel welcome. Great food and ambience
Can’t beat $5 Bao buns on a Thursday and so delicious too
We love Ally a Chow, we have been here several times and it’s always awesome. This time we went at a busier time and the service was not as fast- we were asked twice what type of water that we wanted and it still didn’t come out until our other drinks came out but other than that can’t fault it. Food was delicious as always!
Great creative meals full of flavour with lots of favourite ingredients but not obscure. Really comfortable atmosphere, friendly service with great recommendations and fun drinks with a comprehensive drinks list. Fabulous.
Food was great. Service was amazing. I would love to come again.
Great find when we were visiting Nobbys Beach. Food was super tasty, we had the banquet to sample many dishes. Loved the decor and ambience and staff were very attentive.
Amazing flavours, unusual cocktails and great service. We took Geelong family there and had a great night.
Great food, great drinks, beautiful spot. Highly recommended.
Great service great food love the place value for money
Amazing food, amazing outlook, lovely fun staff, great location
Food was great and had gluten free options available. Soft shell crab was amazing. Our waitress was brilliant, best I have experienced in a long time. Fun night with great food and value for money.
The food was really nice flavours but it came out quite cold. It was a cooler night so I was disappointed. I wouldn’t have minded if the price point was lower but I paid a lot and Therefore had higher expectations.
I dined at Ally Chow last Friday night with a couple of girlfriends for the second time. One word- amazing! The food, cocktails and the service was excellent. We ordered different share plates as they had changed their menu since I had been there and everything we ate we loved! I would happily recommend this restaurant to anyone, and the Saigon Sally cocktail.
We had a great Sunday afternoon at Ally Chow's. The food was great, the staff were friendly and really looked after us. All in all a fantastic thing to do on a wet Sunday! It's an amazing deal on a Sunday as well and really fun for a group get together.
Probably the best restaurant on the Coast at moment
Food was great but let down by service. We felt tucked away in the front corner of the bar.. don’t recommend sittting there.
Good service, good feel to restaurant, food could be better, nothing wrong but no meal really shone, very rushed in serving meals , beef cheeks & stir fried vegetables lukewarm. Will try again Midweek hopefully quieter. Value for money average.
Unfortunately this time the food we chose fell short of the mark in our view, not sure if it was our choice of food, but it just felt as if the sweet/sour component of the meals wasn’t on track . Im not an expert but this is how I felt ; Service was good except we asked for no coriander in anything and we got coriander with everything. Then we ordered sparkling water and every time the waitress bought over a new bottle of water it was plain. U can’t really get it wrong as sparking water has a black top on it ; this was done 3 times in the end we couldn’t b bothered asking for it to b changed. New waitress on that night ; she was lovely it was the other waitress who couldn’t give a damn of what water she bought out.
Not sure if I will give this restaurant another try as there r better Asian fusion restaurants about. Sorry it’s my honest opinion
Great service will reccomend to friends and Family for all occasions
Good location, great food and excellent service. Attended for a date night, and although noisy at times we still enjoyed the night. Will definitely be back.
Very disappointed with the banquet, extreamly salty, very heavy meals with lots of noodles filling up courses. We were sat is side laneway in extremely uncomfortable bar stools at a high table, reservation was made 5 days earlier. Service was lacking, the poor waiter was run off his feet.
Excellent food, excellent staff. Even they missed our drink order, the food just brillant. Still recommend
Being a customer with an Asian background, I give this restaurant a stamp of approval. The chefs really know how to cook such delicious Asian Fusion dishes. I will definitely be back!
Best food on the Gold Coast! Clean, fresh , innovative and above all extremely tasty
We were in the alleyway at the front. Great atmosphere. We had a selection of small plates to share between 4 people - great tasty food. friendly and quick service. Highly recommended!!
What an absolute experience! Love the decor and set up and vibe of this establishment.
Drink selection was good - although a couple of asian inspired mocktails would have been awesome to for the people who don't drink alcohol - perhaps a vietnamese/cambodian style lime crush would go down well especially in summer.
The satay chicken kebabs were so delicious and the meat so tender.
The short rib beef spring rolls were also incredible and the dipping sauce yummy.
Desserts were on point and loved the deep fried ice cream with the sherbet and salted caramel (although really wanted to receive the sauce in a pouring jug to pour on myself) and the vanilla panacotta was amazing especially with the plum wine brother and dragon fruit.
Definitely will be back again next time down the coast.
Disappointing would be the best way to describe our dining experience. We chose the banquet menu which gave nothing away when it came to being quite clearly pre-prepared. Noodle dishes were prepared with store bought noodles... shredded duck was almost absent and the scallop dish was over done to a point where the scallop coukd not be detected. Won't be going back
Large plates were tastier than the small plates. Noodles in particular were delicious. The spring rolls were lacking in flavour.
Waitress was lovely very patient with our children and helped make my hubby’s birthday special
We absolutely loved everything about our dining experience. We will definitely be back
My Son recommended Ally Chow. He's a real foodie, so I always trust his recommendations. I booked a table for 6 at 7:30. We arrived a bit early, and were welcomed and seated. It took 15 minutes to ask for our drink orders, and another 15-20 to receive our drinks. We were informed that neither of the wines we ordered were available, neither the Sauvignon or Shiraz, so we opted for the lesser priced choices. The food we ordered, overall, was amazing. The Agedashi Tofu, Eggplant, San Choy Bao, Soft Shell Crab Bao, were delicious. The pork and Chicken Skewers were over cooked and quite chewy. One of our guests was Gluten and Dairy free, and after asking the chef if the Tofu was Gluten free, we were told that there was the slightest bit of gluten with the soy marinade. While, she was served a non-marinaded piece of Tofu, it should be noted that, it should not say *gluten free, on the menu, if, in fact it isn't. I feel that the restaurant was understaffed, and while we were told that there was a problem with the eftpos machine, it just seemed that service was a bit frazzled. We would certainly give Ally Chow another chance.
Great food, different flavours. Good value. Funky atmosphere and good service. Well worth a visit.
Food and atmosphere really good (we sat outside). The service was great when it came but we had to wait 30mins between entree and main and then another 20mins for the bill. We had young, tired kids and I think they were short-staffed. Won't stop us going back though.
Every meal that was bought out was lovely. We had a few small meals to share and one large and it was plenty for 3 adults.
Great night and great service with tasty great food
Came to this restaurant on the recommendation of my daughter who hasn't actually been here but follows Ally Chow on insta (she is a real foodie and thought they would be worth following based on their posts). So we tried it, and was not disappointed. Food looked and tasted beautiful. Staff, very polite and professional. Wicked chef. Well worth travelling up from Banora. We will be back to try "Sunday Chow Chill Outs".
Great staff with a good vibe inside. Food was tasty and cocktails were delicious
