Almond
Co-founder and chef Jason Weiner creates seasonally focused ever-changing menus that are guided by a market driven ethos. We highlight our personal relationships with growers, fishermen, artisans and winemakers.
Our menus are artisanal and market driven featuring some updated takes on classic french/mediterannean cuisine, ethnic street food and lots of stuff in between.
We are obsessive about the handmade...We hang our own charcuterie, grind our own sausage, ferment our own kimchi, dry age own steaks, and smoke our own fish & bacon.
The wine list, handpicked by co-owner Eric Lemonides, offers an affordable selection of wines. Specialty cocktails, NY craft beers, and raw bar selections, along with the entire menu are available at the restaurant’s 25 seat bar.
I have been bringing friends and family to Almond since it opened. The food has been consistently wonderful. The menu has something for everyone, and their Brussel sprouts caesar salad is addictive. Their french fries are outstanding...
I have seen the same servers over time, so that tells me that it is a nice place too. They are always attentive regardless of how busy they are.
It is great for lunch, brunch and of course dinner.
Excellent menu full of choices. Attentive and thoughtful service.
Everything from the food the service to the ambience was great! Went for brunch and I loved the cozy place. Definitely good for large groups.
Great service and good food.
The service was exceptionally poor. Despite my having communicated that it was a birthday celebration, there was no attempt to make the dinner any more pleasant. The food was simply not good enough but could have gotten a pass with service that made you feel like you were wanted at the restaurant.
Not a cheap meal but reasonable by NYC/Flatiron price range standards. Cocktail and wine as well as every dish we ordered--appetizers through dessert were all excellent. Service was friendly, attentive and competent. Quiet enough and tables well spaced enough to be able to have an extended conversation. Have passed by here dozens of times over the last year and my only regret is that I didn't come sooner. Will definitely be back.
Service was attentive but not pushy. Food came very fast and was delicious. Loved the choices—there was something for everyone.
The omelet I order was delicious, as were the home fries. The biscuits were nice and I really enjoyed the preserve that they came with.
However. The side of bacon that we ordered was absolutely horrible. Not sure how anyone has ever ruined bacon but they found a way.
One of the best places for brunch in Manhattan. Always consistent food and great service. 5 stars all round.
Really like Almond. Open space, not too noisy. The service was great. Got the sausage cavatelli which was amazing! Overall, a great experience and would totally go back!
My favorite place to introduce friends too
Great food and good energy
Just a bit noisy when dining due to all the bar activity.
Wonderful experience at the Almond in Manhattan. Food and Service all A+. I look forward to returning.
Delicious food with a very knowledgeable wait staff. Liked it so much after being a guest there on Thursday night, we returned on our own on Saturday night.
Fresh and inventively prepared food. Pleasant and effective service. Atmosphere is nothing special, and the food selection is limited. Overall a very pleasant experience for everyday dining. A higher-end Applebee’s.
Delicious food and terrific service as well! Our only complaint was that it was a little dark - we had to get out our phones to read the menu, but overall loved it!
Great staff and service. Food was tasty, fresh, and I would only make an improvement on one item. The Quebecoise fries had more brown gravy and not enough cheese so there was an acidic quality that was less palatable.
Food was great! Lobster spaghetti was interesting and delicious. The service was great too. The Sticky date dessert is worth a trip back for! Room was very dark and with my old eyes had to use my phone to read the menu. An easy fix. A bit expensive but the food and service were good so it was fine.
Almond is my go-to spot for consistency. Great food, service and fun
Wonderful food as usual!
4 people with different levels of food requirements. Super taster, foodie, picky and no meat.
We were celebrating 2 birthdays and a marriage. Thank you so much to the staff for surprising us w/ 4 flutes of champagne. A very kind gesture. The food was delightful and served quickly. Walker our server was hospitable and charming.
Toffee sticky yummo dessert was delish.
We will definitely return.
Great farm to table with a relaxed vibe and great food. Had the best buffalo cauliflower of my life there and really enjoyed the fish tacos. It was a great lunch and I’d definitely return in the future.
Delicious food in great location... friendly and inviting
Just amazing!!
Great place! Food and service was excellent!
I chose the restaurant and regret it due to service and food quality on October 10, 2019.
The restaurant was not very busy, it was a Thursday night and there were plenty of open tables.
My waiter was a male late 30s early 40s with some sort of goatee. He was pushy on getting us to order all of our food at once. I asked him what the pork adobo was, he initially told me that it was a pork chop. "I highly recommend it". After a more than normal wait time for our food (nothing egregious) the waiter came back to our table and told me that the dish was actually not a pork chop, rather it was "pork shoulder", "pulled pork" "it actually looks even better than pork chop". I'm still not sure what it was (maybe pork flank? Thin slices of pork). Both of the dishes were cold. It seems like he forgot about our food and it wasn't even being held under a heat lamp.
Price: we each had 2 glasses of wine, we shared the buffalo cauliflower to start, I got pork adobo and my guest had the roast chicken. Bill totaled around $150.
It definitely wasn't a crazy busy night, it's a big restaurant but there were a lot of open tables etc. Also, we both ordered main dishes off of the main menu, not specials.
I do not recommend this restaurant to anyone, especially given the high price, sketchy service, and cold / bad food. I wish that I had requested a refund for both dishes on the spot.
Came here on a first date. We didn’t drink but we ordered food. 4 appetizers and we both were full. Lamb meatballs were to die for. Flatbread was good too. Shrimps were nice. And we got 4 different cheese on plate which were nice to have. Paid 40pp. Spent a little over 90 minutes and we could hear each other all right without much screaming.
LOVE Almond!! Food is fantastic and service is always nearly flawless.
This was my first time at this restaurant and it was a great experience. I wouldn't recommend it for a vegan, but the menu had plenty of choices otherwise, all the food was quite delicious. The waitstaff was fantastic in every regard. The ambiance of the venue was a perfect spot for a delightful lunch meeting, it felt very warm and welcoming without being overbearing. I will definitely book this place again, thanks for a great experience.
One of my favorite places in NYC. Go here often for lunch and dinner. Very convenient area in Flatiron district.
Service was impeccable. Food was perfectly made. Loved it. Accommodated my daughter’s birthday with a candle and sparklers on her dessert
Work dinner
Great food simply prepared. I enjoyed the lamb with greens instead of potatoes and it was great. The vibe reminds me of Portland or Seattle
Service was great and good recommendation for drinks and foods.
Consistently a great place to meet friends for a fab time.
It was wonderful, chicken and waffles were amazing!
Wonderful! A go to spot for brunch and the outside seating for the heart of nyc is so nice and serene.
$7.90 for a SMALL Diet Pepsi & one refill. That’s absurd, even for NYC. Asked for scrambled eggs in huevos rancheros and received runny eggs. Of course, I could’ve returned them but with a baby I have to make meal time quick.
I have been to almond many times .. I just love this place food and staff are always great ..
Lovely! Food was delicious and dessert was to die for
Food was amazing and service was outstanding. I would definitely go back!
