Almost Famous - Leeds
Booked a table and arrived a bit late but the friendly team showed straight to our seats. Really nice staff throughout and the food tasted incredible as always. The family experience was spoilt by a larger group of men shouting and swearing at their table. But the worst thing was the state of the toilets, couldn’t believe that by 6pm one stall had no toilet paper, another toilet was so dirty I wouldn’t use it, all toilet papers were resting on bins not in the dispensers and one door had a male shift bolt since the lock didn’t work. Soap dispensers were empty/broken so one cheap plastic bottle of soap to share between everyone and even that was broken.
The food was great but service was slow!
We went on Saturday night for an evening meal and the burgers are outstanding! Me and my partner both said it was the best burger we have ever had! He had the pizza burger and I had the chicken and beef one! So so tasty! We got the mixed fries to share and we loved them! 100% would return on our next trip to Leeds! Definitely worth a visit, you won’t be disappointed!
Everything really good other than our waiter I thought was a bit rude towards myself but all for my girlfriend which is a bit weird.
Great burgers, good chips though a bit cold. Shoddy service, waited 15 mins for a table (note, table was booked for 20.15 and we waited till 20.30) and then a further 15 mins before drinks order taken. Just slow. Very busy and very loud inside but that's to be expected. Overall, if you like a decent burger I'd suggest this place, though meat liquor is better all round.
I just found the environment too noisy. The food was over sauced to my taste (the halloumi burger tasted only of the sauce).
I should say the younger members of the group were fine with both these things. So purely a personal choice, perhaps an age thing
The only slight disappointment was the fact that it was my daughters 18th birthday. Our third meal in a week! This was the only place that didn't make a little effort to say congrats. It was on the booking form and mentioned to a greeter. Minor thing in the scheme of things has to be said.
Overall an okay place, probably great for larger younger groups.
I have had to put a no to the answer would I refer a friend, even thought the food was outstanding. My reason for this is I was dining alone and was shown to my table at 5:35. OpenTable then sent me a conformation that I had arrived at 5:38. I ordered quite promptly and ordered a glass of water, chips and a burger - nothing too much and with no special requests.
I waited for my food - and waited and waited some more. I became conscious that other people sat around me were beginning to complain about the time it was taking to get their food so thought it was no point adding to them so continued to sit there. I even feel that the couple sat next to me just left and walked out after eating their food - I didn't see them leave any money or pay - just left without being tackled about it.
I eventually got my two items of food at 6:30 exactly - a full 55 minutes after ordering it. This in my opinion was appalling. I have waited less to eat a full 3 or 4 course meal in a full restaurant.
This is why I would not recommend eating there. Fantastic food but I could eat the same portions and a similar quality at Five Guys in half the time.
Very poor service and diabolical time keeping.
Service is mixed polite but so slow. Food is flavourful but took a while from order
The food was good, the price was fine and as expected. But the service was poor. It was a Saturday night and relatively busy, but for the amount of staff they had on our table of 8 didn’t understand why it took them 20 minutes to take our order. Then wait 1 hour 30 minutes for our food to arrive. We arrived at 5 for our booking and didn’t eat until almost 7.
Lovely meal and waitress was fab. Service was very slow though. 20 mins to order drinks and food then another 10 minutes for drinks to arrive. Love the place and the food but will only ever go there when over 2 hours free which is not too often. It was painfully slow last time we went too.
Absolutely fantastic service when we visited on Friday for the lunch menu. The server was an absolute credit to your company as at one point my wifes Pepsi was a little low and without even being prompted he came over with another drink for her just a shame I can't remember his name.
They had an offer on when we visited so all burgers were a fiver. Burgers were tasty however we had to send the fries back as they were not hot enough for us. They did send out a replacement.
We had a sharing cocktail. I thought this would have come in a jug but it was one big cocktail glass with straws in to share. My friend felt it wasn’t sweet enough.
Love almost famous, especially when the burgers were a fiver last week 👌🏻
Lady on desk was texting for a few minutes whilst we waited to be seated, bit rude.
However after leaving a phone the manager ran after us to give us it back so he made up for it!
Amazing burgers, and drinks. Thoroughly enjoyed and would recommend
Excellent atmosphere, brilliant music and the staff were so friendly and easy to speak to
Great service and great food, definitely recommend
Booked a table for 1:15 as we only had an hour for lunch called to preorder our food to save time too didn't get seated until 1.35 and food didn't arrive at table until 2.10 I understand they had an offer on but none told us there was going to be such a long wait before had and we had to keep asking how long the food would be.
We visited the Leeds restaurant as we have done on a number of occasions with work.
Pre-booked a table for 12pm (Opening time) we order within 10 minutes we then waited over an hour for food no word from any staff, we were told 10 minutes and no food 30 minutes later.
We eventually had food 1Hr 35 minutes from ordering and it was cold, basically seemed microwaved and was probably from previous tables that had walked out and food returned to the kitchen.Multiple other tables had got up and walked out during our wait and no manager to be seen !!!
Following our food we asked to have our bill reduced to which a Manager then magically appeared she had allowed her staff to front all the hassle whilst sitting in the back no management shown at all.
She was then abrupt and accused us of shouting at staff ??? We had one conversation with staff and that was it and not a raised voice was heard.
Unbelievable, never had worse service or been more insulted by a manager who should have been rectifying the issue not compounding them.
Tried this week as all the burgers were£5 bargain! Fast service, fabulous food! What’s not to love?
Waited an hour for food with no apology! They blamed the fact they had a promo on but it wasn't even full so don't know how they cope when the place is full! Way too much sauce on my veggie burger which made it soggy - didn't enjoy at all.
Food is amazing! Brilliant offer on at the moment of £5 for a burger too
Excellent food, excellent service. The ambience was a bit spoilt by the work going ahead but understand this is necessary. Will definitely go again and would definitely recommend to anyone else
The burgers are to die for! Service was quite slow and had to ask to order and gave up waiting for the bill so went up to the counter, but it was very busy with it being a Saturday night! Would not stop us going back - we love the food!
Arrived when the place was near empty yet we got placed on a table in the middle of the room and as people quickly started to arrive after us it felt like we had people sat on our knee it was so cramped. It was 7pm and the music was so loud you could barely hear each other when you were talking, it was like being in a club. We are used to going to the manchester NQ and we will for sure be going there again next time
Amazing burgers!!!! I will be going back to try the others for sure
Great value lunch
Great food, awful service, long wait times.
It took 30 minutes after being seated for someone to come take an order. After that the food took another hour with nobody coming to let us know what was going on until about 50 minutes of waiting.
The entire restaurant seemed to be experiencing the same thing and you could feel the frustration.
The food when it came was delicious to be fair, the awesome HQ burger is amazing!
I saw 6 tables complain and a number speak to the manager. The staff just didn’t seem to care. Could be great but probably needs new waiting staff.
Doing a bit of a refurb it seemed in the bar area, so a fair bit of plasterboard which upset the overall ambience a bit + the toilets were not clean.
We were seated and ordered drinks, which took 30mins to come. Food took over an hour to arrive (for a burger and chips). In that wait were were not offered another drink, we flagged a waitress down to ask for more - she forgot them so we went to the bar ourselves. We asked the waitress where our food was a couple of times, when it arrived the order was wrong - incorrect burger + additional and incorrect fries. Food was more cold than warm but we didn’t have the energy to flag someone down again.
At the end the waitress did apologise about the wait, other diners near us also commented + how long it too for us to receive a card machine to pay... we didn’t order desert because of the risk of waiting another hour for anything was too much.
We were seated at 7pm and left the establishment at 9:25 - all for a couple of burgers and chips!
If you haven’t had Bacon Bacon Fries you haven’t lived, get here ASAP
Amazing food! Great venue! Loved the decor! Staff were great! Cocktail deal was great! Made me wish I was local! Couldn’t of been happier with it all!!!
Absolutely unreal one of the best burgers I've had! I'd go every week if I didn't live in Newcastle!
Over priced, slow service, food quality food but had to go up to the bar to get served for a drink when staff members were stood around talking and it was really quite
I really enjoyed going here. The food was good but quite expensive given that the menu is so simple. The chips to burger price ratio is rather skewed and I think next time the best value would be from two burgers which would be only four quid more!
It's rare to get a stacked burger that can actually be eaten. Retained its integrity to the last bite.
The drinks menu outdoes the food menu strangely and although I had only coke, I could have stayed for a couple of those drinks had I not had the car.
Staff were pleasant but not overly attentive. It took a while to get the bill given the number of people in. I don't think that it would put me off but when they're sharing table service it makes it awkward to focus. This is why I've always preferred the Wetherspoons bar ordering model.
Full full full
Ordering a burger and fries each proved a bit excessive. All was served and cooked well though.
Food amazing as always, very tasty, great value for money. Not only is the basic famous burger tasty the bacon bacon fries are delish.
The only let down of this visit was the heat in the building. Hottest day of the year and all windows were open and no air con. Made it uncomfortable to try finish our meal.
the burgers arnt like the pictures over priced for what they are. fries a fiver but tasted good
Food was amazing as always but the service was appalling - waited over an hour for food and asked waiting staff twice - lots of people served before us that were seated afterwards. Waitress was not particularly apologetic but manager offered us 20% off bill which was reasonable
The food was average at best and it is only burgers, we had to chase up the waitress for our food as we had been waiting half an hour. Very nice looking restaurant, the décor is really good, but actually the food was average at best & the drinks are extortionate.
Lovely food, service a little slow even though it wasn’t busy, but they were all very polite.
