Alta Strada Foxwoods
Always a great time.
Wonderful food and service!
Being regulars at Alta Strada, my family and I were very eager to return. My daughter came home from college and was looking forward to getting the crunchy eggplant but unfortunately they were out of it. 10/10 would recommend if you can get your hands on the crunchy eggplant. The food is very good otherwise as well, but the eggplant hits different.
Everything was excellent, my only comment would be that I wished they had more of a selection of wines by the glass ... the menu only shows types of wine (e.g., chardonnay, cabernet, etc.) it would be nice to see some brands, especially at $17 a glass, they will, however, give you a sample before you order.
Portions were just too big. Sangria was mediocre. Service was poor. Salads came before apps and then dinner came while we were still eating salsa and apps. Place wasn’t busy so couldn’t understand why service was off.
EXCELLENT !! That's it ! If u can't find something you like on their menu, go somewhere else !
The chicken parm was excellent but could have included more pasta. I split it with a friend. Drinks were amazing! Ambiance was perfect. Service was perfect!
Excellent food, service & atmosphere for dinner with friends.
Food was good, not great. Service was lackadaisical. There was a gap of 40 minutes waiting for our food while others all around us were served, and the waiter was no where to be found. He was nice enough but absent so couldnt even inquire.
Overall, very disappointing for the price. Both salads were very good (caesar and tri colore) but pastas were pretty much tasteless. Bolognese was a significant disappointment. Absolutely flavorless bolognese (not actually sure you could legitimately call it a bolognese) and pasta with clams was at best mediocre. At $120 for 2 salads, 2 pastas and a bottle of wine, it was a significant disappointment.
That being said, service was very good and the wine (an Italian chardonnay blend) was excellent.
The seating is lovely. Very comfortable a spacious in the back. The food was good. I was disappointed that they removed the cauliflower appetizer. It was my favorite dish there. Overall, it was a great night.
the worst !!! Our server was super, the food was fine. Our $56.00 bottle of Reisling was fine,BUT, after I googled it on my phone and found out that it was a $5.99 bottle of cheap wine!!!! Ruined our evening immediately!!!! What a scam $5.99 for $56.00 What a disgrace!!! Do not go here !!!!!
The food was delicious however for the price the servings could have been larger.
Alta Strada is our favorite restaurant at Foxwoods!
Excellent homemade pastas, meatball appetizer, Chicken Under a Brick, bolognese and an outstanding Pork Chop entree.Miss the fabulous Beet Salad!
I requested a booth on our last visit and the hostess kindly brought my husband and I to the back dining room to a comfortable round booth.
We love the authentic Italian food at this restaurant, but it’s location is unfortunate.
Alta Strada deserves to be on the Grand Pequot side of the building.
We find the Fox Tower Casino chaotic, love the music but the crowd can be rowdy.
There were female teens from the mall causing drama.
So we tend to spend most visits at Grand Pequot.
But Alta Strada is definitely the best restaurant on the property.
And we have tried every one!
Wonderful experience with my wife, best friend and his wife!
THE COST IS PRICEY, BUT THAT'S WHAT YOU GET AT A CASINO RESTAURANT. DRINKS ARE VERY GOOD WITH FOOD GOOD.
Place was nice and service was great but the food was not so good. My wife got chicken parmigiana and she liked it and I got the salmon. They served me a belly section that I would have cut off for stew or to put I a salad. It was listed as having a salsa Verde but that was missing and it my have improved the flavor or at least gave it some flavor. They have to learn how to season food.
We enjoyed a quiet relaxing dinner. Our server was very attentive and personable. The bread was a bit hard and tough to eat, but understand the type of bread was authentic Italian. The fried calamari was light and delicious and cooked perfectly, we would have enjoyed a bit more marinara for dipping. The Bolognese had wonderfully delicious flavor, but we felt the portion was a bit on the small side. The salmon was cooked perfectly and served on a delicious corn salad.
Excellent experience sit at the bar and ask for Jeff or Rachel they knew all the best entrees to order.
We have visited this restaurant twice, and both times they did not disappoint! The food is fantastic & service is excellent! Will definitely return!
The food and service was excellent. Has a 7:30 pm reservation and were immediately seated...greeted by a friendly hostess and waitress. Food was not rushed..
Our all time favorite restaurant in Foxwoods
Very expensive for 2 pizzas. Almost no cheese on them. 90 dollars +tip for 2 pizzas and a salad.
I think that Alta Strada is one of the best dining experiences at Foxwoods. We have eaten there twice, once for lunch, and a second time for dinner on our most recent trip. We will certainly go again when we return.
The service was excellent - friendly, helpful, attentive. The food was very good - I highly recommend the homemade ricotta appetizer (ask for extra crostini!) and the spaghetti dish. They do a chicken parm sandwich on the lunch menu that is very good - makes me want to try the entree but the portion looks huge!
Our waiter was very inattentive, never came back multiple times, walked by and basically ignored his whole section, I got the fedelinie which was amazing besides the fact that I sliced the roof of my mouth on a clam shell because obviously the shells were just left in the entire dish and you needed to pick through your whole pasta dish to pull them out ....
Overall it would have been better with no shells and a more attentive waiter..
Many items on menu were sold out and not available for ordering.
Wonderful vibe, great food and awesome service!
We had a fairly good meal although food not as flavorful as Alta Strada in Wellesly. Server was very good, but beware of the drink menu! No prices for cocktails listed. We ordered 2 Negronis that we were shocked to learn when the bill came were $22.00 a piece - $44.00 for 2 drinks is excessive. We dine out a lot in Boston, so are used to paying $14-$18 for a cocktail, but that was over the top for a Negroni!
Awesome experience, chicken parmigiana was delicious and enough for two of us to share. The service was great, very pleasant and attentive without feeling rushed. Relaxed atmosphere and the wine recommendation was perfect ! Will definitely recommend to friends and family and looking forward to eating here again!
Staff very attentive
Food was very good highly recommend the salmon
Very nice evening will definitely go back
Had a drink at the bar earlier in the day staff pleasant nice atmosphere
Excellent meal and service
We had a thoroughly enjoyable meal. The food was good. The bread was to die for. Would definitely return again.
We always enjoy dining here. The food is consistently good and very few Italian restaurants have gluten free options (but it's getting better). Our server was extremely helpful and patient with my questions. Our dinner was extremely enjoyable. We look forward to our next visit.
Arrived 10 minutes prior to our reservation time. We were seated immediately. The only person we saw was an assistant waiter giving us water. After over 10 minutes and multiple servers waking by our table and not even acknowledging our presence I went up to the hostess stand. I asked the hostess if there was any actual waitstaff working this evening? She apologized and said she would send someone over. Well a few minutes later the lead hostess stopped by the table. I explained the situation to her and now we are 15+ mins into being seated and still no server. The lead hostess stated she would get her manager. Well no manager ever showed up the waitress finally made an appearance. She apologized for the delay. Needless to say it was more than slightly disappointing to have no one even come by and try to explain or apologize. Seriously doubt we would go back if this how the service is going to be. Also if note is that it was by no means extremely busy there were several open tables so servers were available. Food was good service was horrible. Again disappointed
Food was excellent and service was quick though the waiter missed a few asks (refill on wine and another bread and olive oil). Ambiance is quiet to moderate (not very busy during dinner). Front windows are translucent with the shades drawn, but you can still make out that you're in a casino restaurant. Outside of that, you won't be disappointed with the food itself. We were given a complimentary round of Prosecco for our anniversary which was a nice touch!
We have dined at Alta Strada before - and nothing has changed: the food and the waitstaff are
still the best.
All the pasta is fresh made and delicious; plus the "gravy" is outstanding. On this occasion,
I had Tagliatelle with Raqgu - and it was delicious - all the way down to the final forkful!
On occasion, I have eaten at a sister restaurant, the Alta Strada, in Wellesley, MA., and I have always been
impressed by the quality of their pasta (again, fresh made) and "gravy". And - I have nothing but
nice words for their Wait Staff. Since I live not too far away, I'll be going there more often now!
We were a family of 3 and our son has very bad allergies. The Chef and staff went out of their way to make him a very delicious meal that he could eat. Kudos to the Chef!
we had reservations for date night myself and the wife we had the calamari and he so called giant chicken parmesan and a pasta dish the calamari was very good but the chicken was not a legit chicken parm it was just a chicken patty deep fried with marinara sauce that tasted like jar sauce. The wine list was great and so was our waitress but hte music was so loud we couldnt even hear each other speak. definitely will not go back.
I've been to Alta Strada twice in the last 6 months and it has been consistently excellent. My cousin & I split the truffle salad of arugula and parmesan with a lemon truffle vinagrette. Simple and wonderfully flavorful. The bread was an artisan bread with a very crispy crust and soft, tasty interior. I had the mushroom mezzeluna which had a light parmesan truffle sauce, accompanied by cooked fresh mushrooms. All were perfectly cooked and the balance of flavors was as good as it gets. My cousin had crispy chicken under a brick. She had trouble putting her fork down with a generous portion of very crispy chicken, fingerling potatoes, and spinach. We topped it off by splitting a ricotta cheesecake which was just the right size and again packed with a subtle mix of wonderful flavors.
