Alto by San Carlo
Open from 1130am to 11pm daily for lunch dinner and drinks and from 930am for breakfast through to 11pm Thursday to Sunday (closes 1030pm Sundays), Alto by San Carlo is a rooftop restaurant with true wow factor.
A retractable roof in the main restaurant allows the sun to shine any time of day and a delightful all-year-round alfresco dining terrace with bar, table service, lounge seating allows guests to lounge in splendour, in a hidden Italian garden, high in the sky.
Breakfast with a view is a must - decadent choices include pancakes with fresh fruit and maple syrup with a range of breakfast bellini's to healthy power food bowls and smoothies, alongside an all day menu of superb Italian dishes made from the finest seasonal ingredients.
Amazing and a lovely brunch. The weather was beautiful. The girl at the lift downstairs a little rude however.
Spontaneous early lunch on Saturday. Very relaxed atmosphere and happy Italian food. Portion size was perfect. Have a few small plates and enjoy.
Beautiful setting, however, we were disappointed with the service and quality of the brunch. I had to ask 3 different waiters for water until someone finally came to top up our glasses (we had almost finished our food). Eggs and Avocado was lovely, however, the eggs benedict was small, cold and one of the poached eggs wasn't runny.
That being said, I would still recommend Alto by San Carlo but would consider coming for lunch / dinner / drinks instead.
Went for brunch with a friend we had a nice time
Overall the service and ambiance was very pleasant. But where Alto lacked was unfortunately in the food: very presentable but the flavours were dull. The poached eggs were cold as if they had been cooked long before we placed the order even though the restaurant was not busy; this seemed a little strange. Additionally the hollandaise sauce was under seasoned. Some may find this review very opinionated but having eating at the Ivy Cafe in Marlyebone the day after, I was reassured how a hollandaise sauce should taste. All in all, the staff were very welcoming and the setting/decor was very appealing, but I would only return for drinks as the food was questionable. Very reasonably priced though!
Delicious breakfast with lovely plants&lemon decor. Staff are friendly and courteous. Fantastic first impression. Price is reasonable. Will definitely come here again!
Location and overall design is lovely but the service lacks professionalism and it takes forever for someone to take your order
Each time we’ve asked for the waiter to take our order we were told an excuse and then had to wait more
We’ve mentioned this when we’ve paid our bill but they didn’t seem to be interested or care
Also the girl downstairs at the lift was quite unwelcome and rude as she couldn’t find our name on the list and the fault was theirs cause they’ve misspelled my name
Overall I would not recommend this place for food, maybe for drinks and snacks only on a really sunny day or for your instagram story lol
There’s far better places In London with a roof terrace, delicious Italian food and great service
Everything was perfect. I will try for dinner next time.
