We had Oscar as our waiter.. He was fantastic. Great food and wonder wine suggestion. Dining outside felt so European.. Love it..

The food is quite good.. very nice pasta dishes.. It's difficult to eat outdoors, when it's windy and cold, but they have heaters.. The red wine list is limited..

The food was delicious but despite having a reservation we had to wait about 35 minutes to be seated. We ordered appetizers and bread and they forgot about the bread until our mains were coming out. Disappointed by the service but everything was very yummy.

Excellent service, delicious food. The outdoor tables have very good patio heaters. I had my favorite pasta dish, orecchiette with Italian sausage and broccoli rabe - perfect !

Amarena continues to be in our Top 10 of restaurants to visit in SF; we savor the opportunity every time we're in the city. A must visit, always.

Food was very slow. They blamed it on us for ordering the main after the first course.

Service was outstanding. Our server was super friendly, fun, nice. She seemed to really enjoy her job and made dining all the more enjoyable. The food was great, nothing to complain about. The outdoor seating was good. Plenty of space and heaters. Overall a great experience.

Had a very nice dinner (outside) at Amarena recently. Heat lamps on both sides of our table. Regular Amarena menu and food/wine was good as always. Service was attentive and friendly. They are trying hard to meet their high bar of food and service during COVID and meet that goal quite well. (Good crowd for a Wednesday evening.) Support this iconic Russian Hill eatery!

Service was a bit slow at my most recent visit but typically they are really on top of it, we had a larger group so it might have been hard to juggle all of our orders. But that aside, they are always SO nice and they let us stay and enjoy some wine after dinner. Always a pleasant experience!

What a fantastic evening at Amarena. Tables set up outside, string lights above, sun setting magnificently in the West on a warm SF day. The food was excellent - all four of us basically scraped our plates clean: gnocchi, salmon, lamb, and pasta w mushrooms were all perfectly done. By the end of the evening (coming in from Marin and the Peninsula) we were all wistfully wishing Amarena was our neighborhood Italian restaurant.... Bravissimo!

Food is super yummy and easy to “get” a reservation on open table. However, took us about 20 minutes to be seated even though we had a reservation

Visited for my birthday dinner. The outside seating was comfortable and spaced nicely to comply w/ the pandemic measures. It was a little busy, the waiters were very attentive and the atmosphere was relaxed. The food was amazing. Homemade pastas were fantastic. I had the butternut squash ravioli, so good. A good wine list and make sure to save space for dessert!! Overall a wonderful time.

It was a windy cold night but we were very comfortable with the heaters. Service was outstanding and the food was excellent- Parking is difficult in this area but we will go back again when covid is over and can eat inside. The menu is wonderful and good wines-I wish this restaurant was in Noe Valley so we could eat there more often. Home made bread with pesto was very good

We had a very good experience at Amarena on a chilly evening. The wait staff was excellent, particularly our waiter. The food and wine was very good. Their fried calamari might the best I have ever eaten. The wine selection by our waiter also was excellent. It was a chilly evening and they had heaters outside that took the edge off and allowed us to enjoy our dinner. If it's a cool day, make sure you dress appropriately. We highly recommend Amarena.

I adore Amarena! The staff are knowledgeable, friendly and attentive. The food is amazing -- so many great dishes and each one prepared with care that come through when you take your first bite through to the last. Great wine list. Their outdoor dining is on a fairly quiet corner and gets the afternoon sun so it's a nice place for dining.

Wonderful dinner and walkable from home! They do a great job managing the sidewalk tables.

Our favorite romantic date night spot!! The food is always delicious and the staff and owner are delightful.

Amarena has outdoor pandemic dining down well. Good spacing, heaters, adorable neighborhood corner, appropriately distanced/masked staff. And beautiful food, of course! Definitely recommend.
