Ambar is consistently awesome. I always have to order the Balkan salad which is my favorite! There are a few items on the Capitol Hill Menu that I didn’t see on the ARLINGTON menu but everything I did try was delicious and the vibe is fun and upbeat
The parking of the back of the restaurant is only after 5pm weekdays.
Third time here - very pleased every time! Food quality was excellent and server was very attentive. The Speakeasy downstairs, Baba was pretty cool too.
Wonderful service. One of our guests was very late and they didn't make us feel hurried waiting. We ate outside so the noise level was fine, but inside it would have been hard to hear each other. The food was wonderful
It was fun to try new foods and try them and try them.
We had a great time at one of the outdoor tables - much easier to hear than indoors.
Service and food were great. Wines (both red and white) were very good.
Excellent food and experience. We shall return!
I had a 9:30pm reservation but was not seated at that time. The receptionist said she had to seat other people first. Unacceptable. A reservation is a reservation.
Ivan was fantastic. Ask for him and you'll be glad you did. Ambar lived up to they hype. It's our new favorite place.
Extremely noisy to the point that one cannot hear what the waiter is saying. Some of the dishes are quite good. Will not go back because we like to converse with our friends when we meet and have a stress free meal.
Great food! We sat outside, The tables are very close together and there is not a lot of space between them- this is a problem for diners who are not "skinny minis". We enjoyed the food once we were able to get the seating settled. Plan to return .
I would recommend for the food. But the waitresses were not welcoming and my guest felt uncomfortable
Delicious food, but utterly spoiled by an unbearably loud level of noise, inattentive service (particularly unhelpful when you need to keep ordering plates every so often) and having seats crammed so close together you can hear everyone else's conversation. Don't go on the weekend, they can barely cope with the customers, and it is impossible to have a conversation.
Amazing food, service, ambiance... the works. Am stuffed and happy. Thank you for a great night.
Great food, great atmosphere. A little expensive, but overall experience is worth it.
Ambar has an amazing customer service followed by perfect ambience. Valentine was our attendant who guided us very well about the cuisine as we had never tried it before. The margaritas are amazing along with the food. I would definitely recommend this place.
Great food and service!
Great food, wide variety of unique dishes. Enjoyed the $35 unlimited tapas in order to try a bit of everything - shared by the group.
Food is vey good. Server in charge of our table seemed to be more of an automaton than a server. Had to ask for bread multiple times. I don't know if Anbar requires only small portion on such things as bread but if you've ordered 2/3 dips as appetizers and there's 4 of you, it gets tedious to keep asling and then be served one small chunk each time. Ditto on the menu. Taking all but one away for 4 people seems like a potential hiccup when reordering. The food is great but it could be a smoothie evening.
Three people at dinner did the unlimited small plates for $35/person with a bottle of house white. This allowed us to try many different dishes. While all were very good: PIQUILLO PEPPER CROQUETTE, MUSHROOM PILAV, and LAMB MEDALLIONS were our favorites. The GRILLED CALAMARI were good but over spiced to our tastes.
The food was delicious with good gluten free options, however the service was lacking.
The food is excellent! We had a great time trying so many different things. Service was quick. Will definitely be going back.
Birthday lunch, very enjoyable
Management did nothing to quiet the endless screeching cackling of an inebriated patron. Manager was rude and offensive to me. General manager never returned my telephone call. A server named Olexandra was the only person who made any effort to salvage the experience....and she should be the manager because she actually cares and has a heart!!!!
Ambar has good food but poor service. I have been about 7 times for brunch and every time it is difficult to get drink refills and food does not come out timely. The drinks wouldn’t matter as much if you weren’t paying for the bottomless experience, I have waited up to 45 minutes before waiting and trying to get someone’s attention.
Delicious food, friendly service, fun decor. We will return and will definitely be ordering the meat pie again!
Delicious regional cuisine served as small plates as an all-you-can-eat deal. Food comes out at a moderate pace, and staff are all friendly. Great cocktails and regional wines as well. Highly recommend, reservations are a must!
A nice place to meet friends for dinner. Staff is very friendly and customer oriented. Highly recommend.
Small plates all you can $19.99 was outstanding. Lamb Lasagna was our favorite! All so yummy.
Loved the food, loved the style. Drinks were amazing. Food is a conversation piece on its own. Love, love, love.
Fantastic food. The spreads and sourdough nuggets are breathtaking.
Monday holiday brunch. Everything was perfect, as usual! Food and latte were awesome.
Excellent food & drinks. Got the brunch deal. Went Sunday morning so service was a little slow, but well-paced. Will definitely go again.
Amazing as always. One of the best value brunches in DC. Always delicious and interesting food. Wait staff are always friendly and attentive and they have a great patio.
Great brunch place! Lots of different options. Really liked the salmon benedict, potato has, and cheese pie.
It was a fun family dinner. We’ve tried to go to Ambar for two years and finally scheduled a reservation early in the evening.
I would recommend the place for a drink, but the hostess station and waitress were a hot mess. It took 25 minutes for us to sit at our reserved table for a nearly empty restaurant. Amateur hour at the hostess stand
Enjoyed the tasting menu. The stew and slow cooked lamb were wonderful. Definitely ask wait staff for recommendations. Overall a very enjoyable evening!
Ambar was everything I imagined it to be! The food, the atmosphere, and the drinks were great. My friend definitely enjoyed celebrating her birthday here and I will come again without hesitation. Definitely worth the money!
