    Ambar Capitol Hill exceeded expectations! My wife, a couple of friends, and I indulged in the unlimited dinner and wine, savoring the flavors of the Balkan Peninsula. The variety of dishes was impressive, each packed with unique tastes that delighted our palates. The staff was attentive, embodying the "world-famous Balkan Hospitality" that made us feel right at home. The ambiance added a cozy, inviting touch to our evening, turning it into a truly memorable experience. We’ll definitely be back!

    Incredible dining experience. A rich variety of flavors. Prompt, friendly service. A perfect way to enjoy an evening with friends. We will eat here every time we come to DC.

    Ambar Cap HIll is definitely on the upswing. Shortly after the remodel I dined here and the food was frankly a mere shadow of what it had been before, and I was pretty disappointed -- food had come out cold and tasteless. Went back about a year later (Sept 2024) and the food is back to what it used to be -- breads were hot and soft, the proteins were treated fantastically, kajmak was once again rich and buttery, desserts were delish (though the berries and cream is a bit plain), and service was friendly and inviting. Would certainly appreciate more vegetarian mains (there used to be more on the old menu!) but everything they brought out last night was great. would recommend.

    A fun concept—one fee to try many new foods! Overall, food was delicious, although some plates were less desirable to us (e.g., mushroom crepe, cabbage roll with pork). Our favorites were the mussels and spreads! We were seated next to a loud group, which was irritating, but not the restaurant’s fault. We’d go back!

    I love Ambar and this time the food was great as usual but the waitress seemed to be annoyed by life and wasn’t inviting the way Ambar usually is

    Great time but extremely disappointed that only the alcoholic beverages have special pricing. Non-alcoholic drinks are more expensive - feels completely backwards and unfair for those of us that choose not to drink alcohol
