Minutes from the bustle and bankers of Canary Wharf is Amerigo Vespucci, offering the diner
impressive dockside views and a true taste of Italy, right in the heart of London’s financial district. The fresh and imaginative menu offers excellent choice – from simple but bursting-with-flavour pasta dishes to generous-sized meat and fish courses, while daily changing specials make the most of what’s on sale at the local market. Step inside the nautical-themed dining room or enjoy an aperitif on the large alfresco terrazzo and relax in the capable hands of the experienced and friendly waiting staff. Hot and cold starters pave the way for a fresh-food feast.
Best Italian in the Docklands.
This has become a favourite restaurant for us in Canaray Wharf and this visit certainly did not disappoint !! The food is great and innovative and is reasonably priced while there is an excellent wine selection. Service is very friendly and helpful and we will be certainly returning
Very pleasant lunch. Nice buzzy and comfortable feel and very tasty food from a nice wide menu.
Great food, and outstanding service. The staff couldn’t have been any more pleasant and helpful. Highly recommend
Staff is very friendly and the food is always amazing.
we had a great experience..food was delicious and service was just perfect.
Very good food and value for money for London.
Service is ok. Room is small and very noisy.
Have been going for years, always a very enjoyable evening!
Suggested by my friend as she had been before and loved it. Loved the attention from the staff, they sure know how to look after diners. We weren´t kicked out after 2 hours which was nice or maybe because the table wasn´t needed. Loved the food except for the dessert (creme brulee), being French, any creme brulee which feels really heavy won’t cut it but hey, maybe that’s how the Italians like theirs :-)
Overall, great experience and would certainly return.
Lost for words about this Restaurant. Most friendly greeting. Lost count of how many times we have been there, On our own, with friends or clients everyone we take love this establishment and always return. Food excellent. Great choice of wines. No rush with food. Fantastic venue.
Food excellent, service very good, our waiter Cuba was on the ball
Lovely meal here, great staff and very reasonable prices for London. I had the arrabiatta and requested extra garlic and chilli, which the chef kindly accommodated. Garlic bread perfect and olives were delicious. Other half had the Parma ham wrapped fillet steak, which he is still raving about. Food was great quality. Will definitely book again soon, as perfect place to bring friends or have a date night. Casual and stylish. Highly recommended.
First time at this restaurant. Excellent food and service and good value for money. Would definitely go back next time we are in the area.
Great experience. Attentive waiters and good food. We spent 5 hours in the restaurant! Thanks to all the staff for looking after our party.
First dined here 20 years ago and it still remains one of the best restaurants in Canary Wharf
Wedding anniversary the staff looked after us very well & gave us a lovely evening to remember
Great location in CWharf. Impeccable service and personal touch.
The waiter was exceptional, he was very attentive and also surprised both me and my partner in her birthday by making the dessert all cute great place to go
Very good food but service was slow due to lower staffing on Monday night. Worth a repeat.
Very friendly staff and great service. Calamari was crispy and lobster pasta was tasty. Was little tricky to find the restaurant as the waterside is under construction.
Very nice experience - both my husband and I were treated with kindness and excellent service from the staff as we were celebrating a special occasion. Very nice food and portions are also very generous. I can totally recommend it!
Not a bad Italian good pasta great liver, would go again.
High quality fresh ingredients Italian food, had calves liver with mashed potatoes and gnocchi starter was excellent, some of the best I have had. Recommend for lunch or dinner.
Unfortunately the waterfront has a labour site, but they obvuoisly can't do nothing about it, overall very pleasurable experience, service was on point.
The sparkle with the dessert was very appreciated!
Lovely food and great service. Child friend (we were celebrating our son’s birthday). Staff were really attentive and food was great. We will be back!
It was our second visit to this restaurant. It didn’t disappoint. The food was great and the service was friendly. The waiters were knowledgeable. We will definitely return. It’s a good local restaurant for us.
Absolutely love this place and the lobster pasta is amazing! Service is always spot on too.
Simple but delicious food, great service, friendly staff.
Service was diabolical and waiters were rude.
As a lunch venue, food took a long time to be served. When it did arrive the food was cold.
The check was incorrect, they had charged us for a bottle of wine when only a glass had been requested. When pointed out there was no apology or thanks when payment was made.
From this experience i will not be visiting this venue.
Great overall experience
Good food. The best seafood linguine in town.
Slightly slow service sometimes, but in general very good place.
When a restaurant knows it is short on wait staff and will struggle to give service, it should be upfront about it and manage expectations. Apologising when they bring the bill and belatedly offering limoncello is no use. On arrival to find that for a party of 3 flagged as a birthday dinner we are offered the table nearest the flow of people between the door and the loo wasn't a good augury. We suggested another table but that was 'reserved' although no-one sat at it for the rest of the evening. However, a third table was offered to our satisfaction and there we sat. Nothing said about the birthday, then or throughout the evening. Perhaps they only notice if you bring balloons as did the 60th party and the 50th party that turned up later on.
Don't think that service wasn't personable, it was friendly enough but stressed and busy staff don't radiate a good vibe that says 'we're glad you're here'. Bruschetta for the table turned up after the starters so that was another unintended timing trip-up.
Never mind all that, what was the food like? Brilliant as always at AV. I remarked that the biggest problem with the menu is FOMO - whatever you order there is the 'fear of missing out' if someone on the table loves something more than you. This time everyone ordered different things and everyone was so happy with what they got that there was no envy at all. All plates went back completely empty.
Nobody is ever likely to say that AV is a cosy restaurant, business-like is probably all you can say, no extra points for vibe or music. Maybe we should try Deliveroo and get their food in our home instead....
Great flexibility, had requested outside table but was too hot. Moved inside very smoothly. Great food and superb service.
Good food. Nice people.
Good selection of wine as well
Always quite busy.
The food was excellent but the restaurant was understaffed and therefore, although very pleasant, the staff just couldn’t cope. It was a pity as our friends are American and are used to a totally different level of service, we ended up feeling very embarrassed about the whole experience.
The food was very good...Service very prompt. ..Staff were very friendly and helpful. ..We will come again and probably bring people with us next time
Superb overall experience
Perfect in every way from service to food. Been coming here for many years now and never been disappointed.
The restaurant had a very Italian feel. The food was great with the scallops “Capesante con Pancetta e Purea di Piselli“ one of the best starters I have had for a long time. I ordered one of my favourites which is “Lasagne alla Siciliana” with a twist and it delivered. I would recommend this restaurant.
