Whilst Italian and Japanese cuisines may seem worlds apart, at their core they share very similar values; food is regional, seasonal and created with minimal meddling and the deepest respect. We are passionate about these similarities and look forward to welcoming you with a smile!
We had the tasting menu at Angelina's and absolutely loved every dish- I'd absolutely recommend to all!
It was so great to finally tick Angelina off our list as we'd been meaning to visit since it opened 8 months ago. The fusion of Italian and Japanese cultures and flavours is so different, but it works. The food was delicious and plentiful, great buzzing atmosphere and wonderful service. The menu changes every 2 weeks so we look forward to visiting again soon!
Very good dinner. Slightly slow start but once in the swing of things very enjoyable. Food was excellent and in abundance (very good value). Wine pairings were good - if a little safe - but overall worked very well. Well done.
Excellent service, overall nice experience. Food was interesting.
Amazing food and ambience! Was hard to imagine how a Japanese and Italian fusion would work but was extremely impressed - the dishes were so well thought out, extremely clever and nothing less than exceptional! Will definitely return.
Cocktails overrated the food was nice but not what I expected too many waiters overcrowded
Fantastic place. Really good and interesting food, caters for vegetarians and meat eaters. Service was exceptional - a perfect place for a birthday treat!
Service was impeccable, curious to find out how these fusions worked together and was positively surprised. Standout dish on that tasting menu was the risotto.
We were on a tight time schedule and the staff made sure that we had our food within our time limit without us feeling rushed. Impressed by that.
Perfect date night spot. Would recommend this place to friends and family
They won me over from the starters. Every fritto misto bit had its own sauce to go with it and the waiter was very good in explaining all ingredients.
We had one tasting menu and one dish of the day with a side, another plus as in most places you can't have a tasting menu unless minimum 2 people have it, this way we got to try most of their great menu.
The music was very nice and vary, the service was Perfect, couldn't have been better, I'm a slow eater and for once I didn't feel rushed at all, the place is also extremely beautiful, with real plants in the middle of the place and Japanese lights, also loved the bar in the bathroom ") and the toilets themselves are very looked after and beautiful.
Ramen was delicious and the pigeon too, ginger ice cream was very gingery, which I loved, coffee good too.
I have to say, I'm a Big foodie and I didn't know this place at all, now I can't wait to go back.
Really well done.
Really lovely decor and ambience and service. Food a let down sadly. Starters were good but that’s about it. Wine pairing didn’t work well.
Very nice atmosphere. Friendly but professional service.
Coming from Melbourne, I haven’t been pleased of dining experience in London. it’s always too expensive if the food is great. This one is amazing, Angelina is a fusion between Japanese and Italian. It works and no confusion. Loved every meal of the set menu. i didn’t read there was No ala carte when booking which was a surprise. But set menu was worth it
Nice and relaxed environment. Good cocktails. Very good food. Service attentive but discrete. One of my favorite places over the last year.
Most beautiful dinner of japanese/italian fusion in a lovely atmosphere. My new favourite in town!
An interesting and creative menu combining Japanese and Italian styles. Our only gripe was that some of the food was a bit salty.
Moreish and inventive; the fusion between Japanese and Italian cuisine is delicious. The dishes are easily shared tapas-style or enjoyed as a menu per person. Interesting selection of handpicked wines.
Seated at the ‘chef’s table’ was a real treat, enjoying the art and energy of the chef and his team. The décor is elegant, loved the relaxed and welcoming atmosphere; this place is great for any occasion. The friendly hosts shared their passion for food and wine… a place of many stories; I will be back!
Great experience at Angelina Dalston. I went with my bf to celebrate my birthday and we had the testing menu and a glass of wine. Food was delicious, ingredients were very fresh. Atmosphere was great also the wine selection was very good. As I have food allergies the guys were very helpful and I had an amazing alternative for the main course. We will defo be back.!
I regularly take friends to Angelina and recommend them to friends due to their original and refreshed menu, excellent wine and cocktail selection plus fantastic staff. These guys have really nailed the relaxed fine dining genre.
Good food and nice wine pairing for a pleasant meal in the east, better than most. You won't be disappointed.
Very nice atmosphere but the food didn’t live upto it’s hype, most of the dishes was way too salty. I didn’t understand the french/Japanese fusion, the dishes were french where for the Japanese fusion they either added some fish/soy which didn’t work. I wouldn’t recommend this restaurant for the food but atmosphere was good.
I am afraid that the tasting menu considerably lacked variety of flavour. The beef rib at the end was fatty, the accompnaying sauces were far too salty. The sweet was the same, an attempt at adventure turned sadly flat . The ambience was poor, mostly due to the noise level which made conversation difficult. At £70+ perhead we shall not return. Style over substance.
Took my wife for her birthday and took the set sharing menu with the paired wines...it blew us away.
The carrot and sesame seed was sensational. We sat across a corner of the large central marble dining table, which at first I thought was a bit weird, however it was great, so intimate, I shall be insisting on a corner seat from now on. Josh served us, he's got this bang on, our second visit and it will not be our last...well done Angelina!
Very thoughtful, unconventional and innovative Italian and Japanese fusion dishes! However, it is definitely an acquired taste; some of the dishes were more delicious and balanced in flavours than others. Also, it would have been great to have more options to select from in the 5-course meal set.
Overall, it is definitely worth a try for something new and different! Great value for money, beautiful interior and lovely customer service.
Best Restaurant in London. 5 course tasting menu is perfect as is the wine pairing. Hidden tiny bar in back. Impeccable service, lovely dining room, buzzy crowd- pitch perfect experience.
A pleasant surprise in Dalston, once that signifies the continuing elevation of this part of London. An even more pleasant surprise (though we did read a very positive Guardian review) was how wonderful the food was. Wave after wave of delectable flavours and unexpected combinations of flavours. The decor is stylish, and (spoiler alert) there's a bar in the bathroom!
Wonderful wonderful restaurant. Everything was perfect.
The wine pairings and food are so unique, every course looks incredible and keeps you interested throughout the meal. The decor is great. You just go!
Wonderful food served with conviction and attention. Friendly atmosphere. A lovely night out!
It was a really great meal. Food was full of flavour and reasonably priced considering the varied menu. Definitely a hidden gem. They were out of a couple of wines and beers on the lists but the food made up for it!
Rarely leave reviews but just had to. Top notch service and delicious food. We had the 5 course tasting menu with wine pairing and it was such good value for money. Will definitely return.
Amazingly friendly staff!
Delicious Italian/ japanese fusion beautifully presented
I didn’t feel the foods are not worth the money but drink selection was amazing.
VERY good friendly service and food was delicious. Great explanation on the wine pairings. Love the modern decor. Lovely tableware. Good value tasting menu for under £39 Wine pairing £35. Last but not least, beautiful loos with good soap and real handtowels , sweets and feminine amenities!
Every course delicious - highly recommended
Nice-looking, buzzy space in increasingly gentrified Dalston. The food was pleasant enough and competently prepared, but I found the Asian/Italian fusion incoherent, and the laughably tiny portions did not justify the price tag. Maybe
it is better for meat eaters. Many of the set menu dishes turned up together, and if there was a plan I couldn’t figure it out. Focaccia, tempura and a bowl of seaweed, anyone? Not at the same time for me, thanks. On the plus side the wine was good value.
The food was interesting - the chicken main was delicious! And the matcha pasta was great too. The appetisers with seafood were great and refreshing, though would have preferred a prawn tempura rather than kale. Loved the dessert
This is a little gem and should not be overlooked! The asian/italian combination works incredibly well and makes for an interesting AND delicious meal. The wine list is also to die for. The best part is the price (reasonable) and the ambiance (elegant yet understated). A lovely place to celebrate a birthday - thanks for the candles :)
I would highly recommend this restaurant. The food was delicious and very unusual. We opted for the 5 course tasting menu which was great as we got to try so many different dishes and it was amazing value at £39 each!
