Really charming atmosphere, excellent food and very friendly helpful staff. Highly recommend
Convenient location.
Interesting building architecture.
Prompt welcome and attentive service.
Good choice menu and food good.
Extensive wine list but pricing rather challenging.
Appetizers were good but main course steak and lamb rack were much over cooked...
Starter was excellent but main (pan fried fish) was dry and vegetables were tasteless and cheap. Tables were too crowded together making conversation difficult. Prices were very high given the average quality of the food. Unlikely I would go there again.
I have been here before and the food is always of the highest quality and the service is impeccable.
A very quaint and intimate setting, ideal for a quiet supper.
What let’s the venue down is price ... or should I say value. Wine although starts at £35 a bottle most start at £50+ The cheese and biscuit desert was very small and poor value at £15
A rare find close to our regular hotel Hilton Paddington. A truly French restaurant serving delightful food and wines. Excellent atmosphere and superb service. We will return on future visits. Most memorable occasion.
Very friendly and attentive staff, Food was very good but overall thought it was a little pricy.
It was for a special occasion and we had a good time. The food was exceptional and ambience elegant
Marvellous
A very pleasant local gem with excellent food and a very quiet atmosphere.
Excellent food and service. Extensive and expensive wine list although we (three on on table) did very nicely with three half bottles (one white, two red) which were also excellent.
I had not been to Angelus restaurant before and wanted to find a really good restaurant in Paddington to take a client. After some research and advice I booked a table at Angelus and certainly wasn't disappointed. I have dined out with this client before at some very nice restaurants such as the Oxo Tower, so the pressure was on to maintain the standard that we had both become accustomed.
We were both delighted with the experience. A very pleasant room, superb food with a menu that was difficult to choose from given that there was so much choice, and fantastic attentive service.
I will certainly be going there again, and would recommend it without hesitation.
I used to have dinner in this restaurant many years ago. It feels like the place is stuck in a former glory. Food was very average and not worth the premium being paid.
It is a shame to see what has become of this place I used to love.
Dinner at Angelus was quite special for us. There were fond memories of previous family occasions and high expectations of service quality, ambience, and cuisine. All of these expectation were exceeded. The wine service was careful and well balanced with the meal, the service was attentive without being intrusive, and our dishes were prepared to perfection. We were able to have a quiet conversation without the energetic noise in so many other locations, the conviviality of the staff made us feel completely at home as with friends, and the overall dining experience was superb. Prices were quite reasonable, which added to the value of the meal. I look forward to frequent return visits with this gem of a restaurant.
The food was well prepared and delicious. The service was exceptional and very attentive. Definitely going back when I get the chance.
One of the best lunches I have had in London, well prepared food, discrete service and the occasional sound of horses hooves on cobble stones outside the window. Delightful.
Great value for money food, and great service. Will visit again!
Lovely food, cosy environment and friendly staff. I’d definitely recommend it.
Trotz Verspätung wurden wir herzlich empfangen. Essen top, Dover Sole und Lamm. Beides perfekt zubereitet. Auch der Lachs vorweg war ohne Tadel. Wird in unsere Liste der ToDos für London aufgenommen
Good food. Great service. We had pan seared scallops, duck confit and a fillet steak. The creme brulee was excellent.
Excellent food and wine and perfect service in a lovely atmosphere . We would strongly recommend Angelus .
It's hard to find anywhere near Paddington Station for a high quality lunch, but Angelus fits the bill perfectly. Tucked down a quiet side street you'll find an oasis of calm, with great service and a wide ranging menu.
Very nice with a great wine list. The starters were amazing but the main courses were ok...the service was old style elegant. This is not a casual place; business attire is what you should aim for...
Lovely french restaurant in the west end of London that is tucked away so great find
Sat outside on the pavement - watched the world go by & enjoyed some classic French cuisine & an excellent red wine with my work colleagues. Pleasant & efficient, non-evasive staff. Efficient service without being rushed.
Excellant food and service, plus romantic environment. When asking waiter concerning wine selection he recommended a bottle half the price!
We will be returning.
Excellent restaurant, great food and a nice ambience.
Salmon was only lukewarm and not cooked in the middle and had a slime texture. Nobody asked if the meal was satisfactory, the waitress was very helpful and polite maybe the man who was not as helpful should get a few tips from her. I would eat here again.
I always enjoy it here. Excellent French food.
Three of us ate dinner. The main dishes were all delicious (roast duck breast, poached salmon) and reasonably priced. Wine was expensive.
Great food and attentive service. We were the only ones there early on a hot summer evening.
The staff were friendly and helpful, the food was good and the menu varied.
The place, and food quality was fabulous.
However one of the wait staff must have gone out side and smoked a joint. His smell over powered even the food. Sad owner would allow this and then have him wait in customers.
Second time here both times food and service outstanding sad this event happened. Ruined a nice meal.
An absolute delight. Perhaps one of London's hidden gems, this restaurant combines excellent, classic French cuisine with with charming ambiance and superb service. It's easy to miss, tucked away in a back street off the Bayswater Road and Hyde Park and close to Lancaster Gate Underground station. Once though its doors you can be assured of a wonderful dining experience conjured by its kitchen and highly professional staff.
Lovely restaurant very close to Royal Lancaster Hotel. Friendy attentive and professional staff. Well cooked fish and steak. Will defintely return.
Excellent food and service
A real find for those who enjoy fine French cuisine
If the lamb cutlets had been as rare as the scallops, lunch would have been more as I had anticipated. And the mashed potatoes were watery...
The menu always offers an interesting selection combining very good quality produce with great flavours, together with a well chosen wine list. The service is of a very high quality and conveys a strong personal touch.
Handy perennial for Paddington Station. Not the popular scene it once was but still very pleasant.
Quality classic French dining in elegant Art-Nouveau surroundings with excellent service. A quiet and stylish spot that was perfect for our date night!
