Food & wine was exceptional
Great food and presentation. Selection was minimal but quality is better than quantity. Ambience was ok and food quite pricey. Service was excellent.
Amazing food. Pricey but we expected that for the quality
The food was beautiful and the adaptations for my husband who is coeliac were fantastic! We had the 9 course tasting menu with wine pairing and enjoyed each and every mouthful! Such a wonderful treat!
The menu sounded good but was a bit bland. In fact, the amuse bouche were the nicer bits, the rest was average. Service was good.
Cute and nice
Good view and service
I had not been back to my favourite restaurant for a few months as I had intended to return for Christmas but it was not to be. I was so excited knowing I was returning to familiar surroundings.
My evening started already on a high note, when I found out that Tibor was going to be our waiter for our table. He certainly has grown very confident and was so pleased to bring us beautiful plates. He was supported by Kasia, the waitress alongside his service.
Our favourite table awaited us and it started well with a lovely glass of bubbly, only matched by exquisite food and so beautiful to look at. Once again, thank you for making our evening a truly wonderful experience and feeling so well looked after on each occasion.
Visited several times since opening and once again Angler did not disappoint. Service was on point and the food outstanding as ever.
It was amazing!! I’ll love to visit again!!!!!!!!!
Superb Christmas Day lunch, perfectly balanced dishes with some imaginative elements. Not pretentious, team made an effort to make it a memorable occasion, presenting each dish, particularly the wine waiter who chose some perfectly matched wines.
Tiny portions for exorbitant prices. Felt like we were having a tasting menu. Good food, not mind blowing.
This was a lunch to thank my team at year-end and we all had a great time. The tasting menu with matching wines was a real treat.
An amazing experience at Angler, wonderful staff and even better food!
Very good but pricy ........ otherwise highly recommend.
This was an excellent choice for lunch and the menu was excellent
I couldn’t fault it and my guest said it was the best sardine starter she had ever had
Staff were excellent and just what you’d expect in such a restaurant
I can not recommend highly enough
Will return soon
Very enjoyable experience. Imaginative, well executed food. The wines were all very different and went well with our meal. Good value as well.
Fantastic, wonderful, delicious, efficient, caring, superb- what more can I say, except thank you.
Great experience. Naturally there is a weighting towards corporate entertaining clientele which influences the ambience. Nonetheless the food was lovely and certainly a top seafood destination.
The Angler is an outstanding dining experience.
Booked for a birthday party and it was an excellent choice. Lovely ambience, starting at the bar for a introductory drink then settling in the restaurant for a wonderful meal. Service was a bit of a let down, apart from the restaurant manager who was attentive, the other staff appeared rather wooden which was a huge a let down for a Michelin-rated establishment.
Beautifully presented, delicious food in a relaxed atmosphere - perfect
Had the tasting menu for restaurant month. Food was excellent and lovely to have the different courses. The service was excellent combination of attentive without being intrusive.
First class from the minute We entered. Spectacular service, amazing food and wine. Cocktails in the upstairs bar rounded off the evening perfectly
Absolutely superb food and service. I would dine there again and again and again!
Great find on Opentable and definitely worth a visit if you are a fish fan. We had the tasting menu and it was amazing.
Had a very nice lunch recently, food and service were excellent... top floor view was good, but not spectacular... overall a nice treat. Recommended 👍🏼😉
Excellent lunch with friends we had the shorter tasting menu with the matching wines. The food was very good especially the mackerel tartare, which went beautifully with the Rivaner from Luxembourg. Alessandro, the sommelier had chosen some lovely wines to match the food and was very knowledgeable and happy to discuss all the wines with us. A great experience.
Excellent lunch with very good service and lovely food
We had booked for a dinner under the Evening News offer. The starting Landon sparkling wine. Was good. The starters were really excellent. Some of the party chose Burratta gazpacho & the others a mackerel. Both were excellent, although quite small in quantity but the flavours just burst in your mouth. The mains we had Hake n others the duck, both were excellent. The dessert also was exceptional. The Sommelier was pleasant n gave a good selection of the wine. Only thing that spoiled the evening for us all was the main waiter for our table who was surly n did not smile at all. He from the very beginning thought he was doing us a favour. Very haughty , I felt like complaining there n there, but the other waiters n staff were good n smiled & very pleasant.
Overall the ambiance was average, but I would say the food is excellent n would recommend it for that.
The food was impeccable, loved the wine and the service was great. It was a lovely relaxed atmosphere which made the whole experience just right.
We did the evening standard special and it was well worth the money. The food and service was amazing.
Phenomenal, food was superb and the servers were very friendly.
The food and service was outstanding and the waiters were attentive.
Excellent as always - the duck with cherries is sublime
The Angler is the perfect place for a culinary treat! The food is to die for and the service was one of the best I’ve had in London. The decor could use an upgrade but the food is sublime! Would definitely recommend and go back
The most incredible dining experience, going to visit again very soon!Would highly recommend, thankyou :)
What a lovely evening!! This restaurant served superb food, even on a £35pp deal. Lots of extras before and after the 3 set dinner courses. However, what made our evening really special were the staff. ALL of them were fantastic! We were brilliantly looked after by Hareo and Alessia but my special thanks go to the sommelier, Greta. I am old enough to remember when condescension was a part of their job description. She is the exact opposite - kind, helpful and understanding that not everyone can afford a £100+ bottle of wine.
Afterwards we had a drink on the terrace. Despite the restaurant closing down, Miguel and Barbara spent time talking to us and offered brilliant travelling tips. It was late and this was definitely beyond their call of duty. Much appreciated. Thank you!
If I were to be ultra picky, it would suggest that the main course should be a little bit bigger than the starter. This would keep any males, needing more food, happy. For us (two women), the amount of food was just right.
First impressions was a cool and calm setting with crisp white tablecloths. There was an option to sit inside or outside on the veranda where the awning could be adjusted depending on the weather. We had the lunch menu which was good value. Sourdough bread with caramelised butter was crunchy and warm. Tiny garlic infused onion tarts also went down very well. Starters looked Devine and was fresh with subtle flavours. The main courses again were well presented and colourful with a successful medley of flavours. No room for desserts although we were served some delicious cake like items which finished the meal off nicely. I will be back for the a la carte next time.
Why is is that some Michelin starred restaurants load you up at the start of the meal with large chunks of bread and several amuse bouche courses, is it to disguise the fact that the portions are on the small side? Starters of crab and mackerel were very good, but both small. My wife’s Dexter beef was excellent and to be fair a decent portion size, however my Turbot main although cooked to perfection was disappointing, when you pay nearly £40 a pop for a main course you expect a little more than a standard serving of fish marooned in the centre of the plate looking a little lost with nothing else around it but a drizzle of Dashi tea broth to keep it company. For the price it should have been better.
