Perched at the top of South Place Hotel, the Michelin-starred Angler restaurant showcases sustainable seafood from British waters, paired with the best seasonal and local produce. Overseen by Executive Chef, Gary Foulkes, the menu features picture perfect dishes and accomplished pairings.

Our Restaurant Manager and Head Sommelier bring their rare expertise to the team, making Angler a complete gourmet experience. In addition to the main dining room, Angler has a roof terrace, intimate bar and semi-private dining area known as ‘the Chef’s View.’

We can accommodate most dietary requirements, unfortunately we are not able to cater to guest with allergies to fish, shellfish and crustaceans’

We went there for a birthday. It is customary to bring something saying happy birthday when we order desserts. Even though they asked whose birthday it was when we were seated, no one brought anything.

Enjoyed a delightful evening at Anglers to celebrate a friend. The staff were warm and accommodating, the restaurant is very nice and the food is stunning (we had the 5 course menu). I’d highly recommend it.

Food was very good although surprising the entire tasting menu was served in under one hour, so it felt very rushed. Service was very medicore and very surprising for a one Michelin starred restaurant. The service was a bit brute, the English quality was very poor among the service so there was a high level of miscommunication. Above all, my guest and I had ordered two bottles of wine and only one bottle came. The waitress forgot about the second bottle in the middle of the meal and we had to remind them of the name of the wine. And then the wine did not come for another twenty minutes and we had to reorder the wine. We eventually cancelled the wine because it was served at the end of the meal after desserts were finished. There was no apology. Overall quite disappointed and I will not be visiting again.

Nice food off offer menu. Tuna tatare might have benefitted from some more acidic accompaniments (lime etc) but appetisers nice. main of newlyn cod v good and puds good. Service v uncoordinated (no communication re allergies- we went through them 3x) and they did not like my point about how a tasting menu should show rverything you are going to eat... and no more, esp if the more involves a £30 supplement, or should state for clarity 'optional extra'. Anyway that aside this just feels a bit sterile and at full price is nowhere near anything other than expensive. Wine mark ups are between 3-400%. There are no real views other than other tall buildings around you. There is no real waiting or bar area unless outside so straight to table prob best.

A Michelin starred restaurant that was unable to serve bread to me due to being gluten and lactose intolerant despite booking made days in advance. Also presumably due to afore mentioned intolerances the snack to kick off for me was olives! I have eaten in over 39 Michelin starred restaurants, over a quarter being 2 and 3 stars but NEVER has chef been unable to serve bread until I visited the Angler. Felt like chef could not be bothered last night!

Outstanding meal. The sommelier paired the wine beautifully and gave us some real surprises. The food was exquisite and service was on point. They deserve their Michelin star. Highly recommend!
