   VERY PLEASANT DINING EXPERIENCE I knew where Aniseed was because for many years, I used to park my car down the side road. I would never have paid it any attention as I remember that it used to be a  mediocre pub which also served Indian food. Obviously, things have changed and it is now a fully-fledged restaurant. The décor is bright and the ambience is casual but welcoming.  We were offered the ubiquitous poppadums with a range of chutneys and the drinks were served immediately. I was delighted by the house wine – which is often below par in Indian/Bangladeshi restaurants. It was good quality Sauvignon blanc and the waiter knew exactly what it was upon my asking about the grape. For starters I had vegetable samosas. I did not expect  home-made ones but they were quite light and tasty. My partner ordered a prawn puri and the quality and quantity of the prawns was outstanding. I chose two non-meat dishes; sag paneer and channa masala and both were absolutely delicious. For me, the best thing about my dishes were that they were very tasty without being oily and although I have a big appetite, I had sufficient for Monday lunch as well. My partner ate Lamb Xucuti which is a traditional Goan dish.  All in all, the meal was excellent value for money.  The service was jovial and unobtrusive and they kindly looked after my rucksack which I inadvertently left behind. I am looking forward to my next visit.

   Food was lovely and staff were polite and friendly, only negative was no cocktail option as other Indian restaurants provide this facility rather than just beers and wine. I would still recommend the place as food was well cooked with lovely service.

   Always good in Aniseed! We had a monthly band drinks (2nd time in Aniseed). All enjoyed and very reasonable prices. Chicken Xcuti always my favourite!

   Visité Aniseed 2 veces durante mi estadía en Canary Wharf. Así de buena es la comida. Tanto el chicken chilli tikka masala como el vindaloo fueron deliciosos. En ambas ocasiones los acompañé de nan, arroz, cerveza, mango lassi y te masala. El servicio es bueno, pero podría ser infinitamente mejor. Los precios super accesibles para encontrarse en pleno distrito financiero de Londres.

   The restaurant was very quiet at lunchtime, no atmosphere. Very cold - don't know whether the heating was switched on, or broken. Then somebody decided to leave the front door wide open - it was freezing
