It was ok but waiter was stincky so it’s not the best mix with food!!
We keep going back to give his restaurant in Kew Village the benefit of the doubt.... I’m wondering whether we should now...
Food was good, but could have been so much better...
The pizza had been left on the side of the pass to go luke warm and the poached eggs on the fish cakes looked liked they had been cooked hours before - were solid in the middle and the fish cake whereas it was tasty was very heavily weighted on the potato rather than the fish.
Service, dismissive and slow... I want to like this place, I’ll try it again, but it might be the last time. It’s ‘meh, average/lower end of good’ but really could be very good!!
Food was great but the service was a little slow. All in all though a very nice late brunch. Good venue with a good ambience in a good location with an interesting menu.
As always top service and lovely food and the perfect place for a special brunch
A really smashing local restaurant for hanging out on a long Sunday afternoon. Great food great service.
Despite booking a table none was available. Waited 25 minutes & left. Shame
This is a terrific restaurant. Great service and ambiance. I didn't love what I ordered, which was a Vietnamese Chicken salad. It was too tart. Like sucking on lemons. But I know other things on the menu are very nice.
Been twice in a fortnight as the buttermilk chicken burger and hibiscus margaritas are delicious. Service has improved as well. Worth a visit.
Love this place, greeted with a friendly smile, cosy decor, lovely food and atmosphere. I’ll be back.
Excellent as always; the menu is extensive and everything I have tried is excellent. The pizzas which I had never had before are really good.
This is a local gem! Couldn't recommend it more. The ox cheek is delicious.
Love this place, would highly recommend it. Great food and service.
Food was lovely but the service was a little on the slow side. Drinks took ages to arrive, BUT, were excellent when they did. There was some confusion over our order and it was implied the mistake was ours, it wasn’t, BUT, again when things were rectified lunch was very tasty. All in all, lunch was good just a little disappointed in the service. That being said, I’d go back for meals and certainly pop in for a coffee.
Delicious food but tiny portions. Ordered ravioli as a main and paid £14 for 8 little pieces. The best deal is the cake, reasonably priced and amazing! Won't go again for dinner but maybe for coffee and cake
Excellent place to go to after a visit to Kew Gardens. Plenty of vegetarian choices. Service friendly without being effusive. Pizzas also on the menu
We have been to antipodea a few times and we very disappointed on this occasion. It was Christmas and there was not a single decoration in the place!!
Staff were, let’s say inexperienced it took four visits to our table from various staff members to understand an order of Vodka Martinis with a twist, and when it arrived there was no twist!!!
The whole experience was lack lustre. No reason for us to return!
Terrible service. Table not ready. Walked out after 20 mins of being ignored
LOVELY ATMOSPHERE AND SURROUNDINGS
The menu was really interesting and varied and the food was delicious! Particular highlights were the cauliflower steak, the triple cooked chips, and pesto mushrooms
Service was friendly but not very efficient , no drinks menu , no information on food not available from menu until ordering then left again for too long while choosing again . Ambience was lovely but lacked food choices and best service .
Excellent service and great food. Love the unusual menu.
The restaurant is very quirky and eclectic. Staff are very polite and friendly. Service is good and food is amazing. On are visit we weren't rushed, staff made sure we were happy on several occasions and atmosphere was lovely. Really recommend this restaurant.
Nice food but disappointed the lobster had run out.
Absolutely fantastic, could not recommend enough, go! We were a tricky table of 8 to celebrate a birthday. Despite being very busy and table not quite ready on arrival, the team made us feel very special and very, very well looked after. We had 3 children and they all really loved it, the team were especially accommodating to the rather demanding toddlers. The space is gorgeous and warm with a lovely fire and feels special, full of love. We left very grateful and have been recommending ever since.
Really enjoyable. Lovely place with a big and varied menu. We were sat very close to the front door which was a bit draughty but otherwise a very enjoyable lunch.
By far the best dinning experience in the area. Accessible to all, welcoming to families and a romantic setting in the evening. The staff are attentive and always smiling.
Nice place, expensive though
Was there the previous Sunday - 29th and decided to return yesterday, Sunday 5th for brunch. Hadn't realised the Kew Market was on so parking was a bit of a nightmare. That said, called the restaurant and said we would be 10 mins late. Arrived there and were seated right by the kitchen. Food and drink orders taken - nothing complex - Brunch special, chicken bagel and corn fritters and we pre-ordered 2 choc souffles. We ordered an Americano, iced latte and a hot choc. Drinks arrived right after food order! And the fuss the chicken was making over the choc souffles ... of course we know it's going to take 15 - 20 mins (not the first time we are ordering or eating a soufflé) - we are just getting the order in so that we don't have to order again. Food was ok - previous week was good. Then waited more than 20 mins for soufflés to arrive. They came and first issue - the menu says served with Jersey cream - we got Turkish candy floss and when asked the wait staff were told menu changed (from last Sunday) - clearly menus are outdated then - have to say something about false advertising. No offer of cream or anything offered. Second issue - one soufflé came out as a muffin - clearly overcooked. Clearly wasn't going to wait another 20 mins - it was removed from the bill. Very disappointing experience especially since Souffle is my daughter's favourite and she was down visiting from Uni. I just found the experience with the staff and the lack of care for us almost condescending - as if we had no idea of what a dish should or should not be.
Food is good here but service is not slick enough to want to make me want to make it a regular. I have been 3 times now, the menu appears to have got tighter and slightly more uninteresting, fewer veg options, more beef. I love the cauliflower dish but am begging the chefs -please add some pomegranate on it to bring a bit of colour to a bland looking, great tasting dish

Bone in burger
First time here for lunch. Good was tasty. A lot to choose from. Will definitely visit again
Fantastic ambience, food OK. service OK. nice setting and drinks.
Delicious breakfast. Staff were friendly. Great place to take small children. We'll definitely be back.
Tried Antipodea Kew for my boyfriend's birthday. Tables are a little cramped but comfortable. It was packed on Saturday night, need to book. Fire roaring the evening we were there, and it's nice to see into the kitchen. Loved the decor and the service was very good. Great cocktail menu at decent prices (£8.50 each). We ordered the same starter (Asian broth) which was a little bland. Chicken dumplings were lovely but broth and vegetables a bit plain. BF had Teriyaki Beef main, beef was cooked very well, Asian vegetable accompaniment was underseasoned and again quite plain. I had the Korean BBQ chicken, again meat cooked well but was basically "posh Nandos". Staff were very attentive and they brought us a cheesecake to share as a birthday treat which was nice. Overall, not blown away with food, but would visit again for a cocktail and light lunch.
Very well looked after in relaxed atmosphere with excellent food and wine.
First time visit - with Aussie friend. We both loved it. Great ambience & food + v friendly service. Will definitely be going back.
This restaurant has now been open long enough to have overcome its service issues, but sadly not. They have reduced the size of the menu, which should have helped, but unfortunately this was not the case. We waited almost an hour for some pizzas and a burger on Saturday. Yes, they were busy, but so they should be in their location on a Saturday lunchtime. A real shame as was considering it for a dinner this week, but do not want to have the delays. Will definitely go back but hoping they get the service problems sorted once and for all.
Good quality food though rather expensive. Everyone was happy with the food, service and place overall. I asked 3 times for the air con/fan to be turned off but it never seemed to happened so I had to sit with my coat on. It seemed much warmer at the back of the restaurant.
I had breakfast at Antipodea with my husband and two kids on a Sunday morning before going to the Kew Gardens. The service was very slow and we had to wait for a simple order (two bacon sandwiches for the kids, a bowl of granola with yogurt for me) for over 20 minutes, and that despite the fact that we were the only customers at the time. Instead all the staff (and there were at least 6 people) seemed to be very busy with unloading deloveries for the kitchen, carrying boxes to and fro and sorting the place out, even though it was past 9 am and the restaurant opens at 8 am. And on top of that the bacon sandwiches were made with bacon drenched in honey, to the point where none of us (kids or adults) could it them. Overall, the place looked very promising and we were excited to start our Sunday there, but were quite disappointed with the service and food. Not sure I will choose it again as a breakfast with kids place, which is a pity because we go to Kew gardens quite frequently.
