We had a lovely table outside for brunch. Food was delicious and enjoyed specialty cocktails as well. Smoky margarita was a hit with our group.
customer service was excellent from the time of my arrival. The hostess was extremely pleasant and inviting. The entire wait servers was accommodating and gracious.
We were 3 for a birthday dinner. We ordered all the small plates and made a delectable meal. Cocktails were delicious. The view , unbeatable; the history & architecture of the abbey were thoughtfully maintained and restored.
We will go again.
We were there for lunch and the "Power Lunch" is a great value, although the selection is limited.
Lunched with my friends to celebrate my birthday. The restaurant is beautifully appointed, clean and has great views of the Hudson Valley. Our waiter was friendly and served our food efficiently although we did not see him for long periods between courses. The food was of high quality and the presentation was nice. However, the portions were very, very small. All in our party of 4 have an average appetite and we are not people who love very large portions of food either. When we returned to my home for dessert, we were starving and consumed too many sweets. The cost was $180- 3/4 persons had one glass of wine. We will not be back. Sorry.
We have eaten at apropos before and loved it, but this time food was not good. The Saltinbocca was terrible. We had told waitress is highly allergic to nuts so we were skeptical about ordering the olive cake - which did have nuts and m my son was very sick after eating that dessert!
We will try the restaurant again, but was not happy!
We have gone to this restaurant about once a month. The food is superb and creative. It has some of the best dishes in the area. The location is beautiful, tables well spaced and also dining in a pretty courtyard. It is our favorite restaurant in Westchester. The chef goes out of his way to make sure everything is perfect.
Excellent experience that restaurant is the crown jewel of Peekskill !
Very delicious food, the saltimbocca was perfectly crisp and juicy at the same time, and the crispy chicken was beautifully done. Great way to end the night at the Abbey Inn and Spa.
The entire experience was just on a much higher level than most restaurants...and we eat out a lot! Service was attentive without being obtrusive, food was excellent and the setting is just incredible. Highly recommend.
Lovely location, attentive and friendly service, delicious food. Prices are fair for quality food. Highly recommend!
This is a great addition to the area! Located in a historic Abbey that has recently been converted into a hotel this new restaurant provides an upscale Italian menu at reasonable prices with lovely indoor/outdoor seating options and great views of the Hudson. There is an extensive wine list if you are interested in that.
Every dish was delicious and while service still feels odd with Covid protocols, all the staff were friendly and welcoming.
Very limited menu. No pasta dishes; out of oysters. One other table in dining room. I had the branzino which came on a small plate with a couple of stalks of broccoli rabe. It was good. My husband had a burger since they were out of pasta. Panna Cotta dessert was good but a little too much olive oil.
It was our dinner to celebrate our 25th anniversary. Based on reviews, I expected a little something to make it special (a glass of Prosecco, dessert with a candle?). They had it written down but nothing. Maybe because it was a Sunday? Anyway we are staying at the Inn. Just underwhelming.
We went for Mother's Day. We had a great meal, with a wonderful view of the Hudson River, and the service was outstanding! Would definitely recommend.
Excellent service, food and the entire place is gorgeous. Well-manicured lawns, spectacular views.
We love this restaurant for dinner. But we found its lunch menu VERY limited. This being our first time we tried Apropos for lunch, I was disappointed that we did not have access to our preferred dishes. Additionally, we purchased two orders of the same appetizer. The dish is served with toasted bread, as a delivery mechanism for this dish.
For a group of 4, we received 6 pieces of bread, not adequate for 2 rounds of using this appetizer as a topping. Requesting a few additional pieces of bread, we were told "there is no more bread available for this time slot" and that their deliveries govern how much bread is released. It was an excessive level of unnecessary detail for something that should be adjusted based on the number of people within the party. If you are unable to scale the dish to accommodate a larger party, instruct your service staff to make this clear or update your menu to reflect the limitation. Given the dish uses the toast as a vehicle for the appetizer, the explanation landed as a bad excuse. It's nice to have an upscale, delicious restaurant in Peekskill. But, as with other Peekskill establishments, its execution fails on occasion.
Poor menu choices. No bread or rolls served, 3 of 4 meals were good but the fish dish was dry. Everything a la carte. A bit pricey.
romantic, beautiful view, most excellent service and food was amazing. will be back!
The view and ambiance is fantastic and service is good but the food is a bit eclectic although a nice change of pace.
Excellent service from reservation to the day of our dinning experience. Each and every person we encountered was professional, warm and made you feel at home. Excellent customer service, food and ambience.
Romantic. Beautiful views
We went there for lunch. Though the menu was limited, the food we enjoyed was delicious.
Food was excellent (tried the sea bass and the ravioli cacio y pepe.). Portions a little small—wouldn’t mind a few more choices for side dishes or bread. But everything was good. Beautiful view of the Hudson from front of restaurant and hotel.
The restaurant is absolutely gorgeous inside they did an amazing job with the renovation and design. Tables are nicely spaced to allow for a degree of privacy which is great. Food was excellent everything tasted fresh and flavorful, perfectly cooked. Excellent selection on wines by the glass and nicely balance seasonal cocktails. Staff was knowledgeable, professional and congenial, service was on point. Went for my birthday dinner and our babysitter cancelled on us last minute so we had to bring our 2 small children along and the server and manager was very accommodating and gracious about it which I do very much appreciated. We are definitely looking forward to returning for another (ideally kid free :-) free evening. Highly recommend!
We had a fantastic view of the Hudson River from our table in the main dining room.
Each course was great!
Will definitely be coming back!
Beautiful both inside and outside. Food and service were both excellent.
We were seated next to the window where we had a spectacular view of the Hudson valley. My husband had the power lunch $25 salad/tuna/gelato and I had the $35 sea bass filet. My portion was small but it was delicious.
Food and service was terrific. The bartender makes wonderful cocktails. Beautiful restaurant with wonderful ambiance. My only suggestion would be on portion sizes, portions very small; not asking for huge portions but they definitely need to increase the very small portions especially for the price being charged
Awesome place . Views were great . Food and service were a 10.
Bigger portions would have been great! But the food was amazing!
Beautiful location overlooking the Hudson. What a view! They did such a fantastic renovation on this whole building turning it into an inn/spa/restaurant. The service was top-notch and the food delicious. Maybe a little pricey for the portion size but still very good.
The Apropos dining experience was very good. The food was delicious and the service was impeccable.
Absolute pleasure having dinner at Apropos. The food is fantastic. The staff are friendly, polite and attentive. The view of the Hudson is lovely. Overall just a wonderful experience.
Food was excellent. The dining area was nice and comfortable.
The entrees were delicious (scallops and sea bass) but the octopus app was not what was expected. The pieces were very small. The baby kale salad came with romaine which was fine but not what was advertised and the parm was more grated than shaved. It was tasty just not what was expected. The space and views are beautiful. The service was ok. Everyone was very pleasant but our server did not know if menu items could come vegetarian and had to go back to the kitchen 3 times to ask. We also waited 45 mins for the apps to arrive. Additionally they sold out of several menu items and it was only 7:30. I really wanted to love this restaurant but was underwhelmed. I will give it another shot as it may have just been an off night.
Lovely restaurant in a very nice hotel. Good variety/options for food and drinks. Very good service.
Nice view and a really good happy hour! Strong well drinks and good wine!
We had a wonderful meal and look forward to returning!
Overall the food and service was ok but we ordered a charcuterie plate to share and there was only one piece of bread when asked if we could have another was told no. That was a little shocking because on a previous visit the charcuterie plate came with three pieces of bread.
