Outstanding as always. We will be back for sure. Thank you
Warm, friendly welcome. Unhurried table service, excellent meal full of varying flavours.
Another marvellous meal, could not fault anything, lovely menu and friendly staff, one of our favourite places for a guaranteed quality meal out
Took my husband here for his birthday. It was a quiet week night. We didn’t know what to chose so we had the chefs choice 4 courses. We didn’t know what to expect but every dish tasted amazing. Plenty of food. The staff were very friendly and not over bearing but left us to enjoy the meal. A very relaxed atmosphere. Would highly recommend for a special night out.
We have eaten at Aqua8 for many years now. Often for special occasions. It has been our favourite restaurant. We were disappointed this time for a number of reasons. The waiter continually lent over the table rather than serving from the side of the customer - very impolite and lazy. The Aqua8 menu has always been particularly good. We found the quantity light and barely enough, and... we are not 'huge' eaters either. When the food was served with the accompanying dips - these were not explained and we had to ask what each was for. The final disappointment was the absence of desserts - these were always included in the Aqua8 menu and now the price has been increased and the desserts removed! The food that was served was cooked well, however the presentation has changed - no edible baskets for the soft-shelled crab, just pilled in a reuseable basket. We left feeling let down by the whole experience and we will not be rushing back.
We went to Aqua8 for new years eve and we were very impress with the food. Was a very good experience!
Went with a group of 9 for a end of year party. Amazing food, simply amazing. Great service. It doesn't come much better than this, best Asian food I have ever eaten, my recommendations, the crab and iberico pork. Highly recommended
Very impressed the food and staff amazing, the food was so delicious and tasty, couldn’t find fault
As always aqua eight didn’t disappoint, lovely bar, cocktails and the food was delicious.
Lovely food as always
Very much enjoyed, food very good lovely variety
Waiting staff good
We arrived slightly early for our reservation, the service was inviting & prompt throughout the whole evening, noise levels were notably high which was the only disappointment! Otherwise great food! 😊
The food was amazing, served well and in a timely fashion. It would have been full marks but we were overcharged on drinks
Food was great as usual however the general service was quite slow. We booked an early dinner (6:30pm) and it felt like we had been forgotten about between our starter and mains. Drink service was slow as we had to try get the waiters attention. Wouldn’t put me off going back again for a special occasion.
Usually faultless and a firm favourite. I booked for my friends birthday. We had the set Xmas menu. I dont eat meat but i do eat fish and was happy with the prawns on the starter and main. However the intermediate course was duck. I explained I didn't eat meat and could I have stir fried veg or a non meat option and the answer was a flat no. So I asked for veggie tasting menu but was refused as there was only 1 of us having veggie and its 2 minimum. We argued the case saying it was ridiculous he explained the quantity of the duck was why. So I asked if just two were having the set menu would it be the same quantity as 3 having duck? Surely not? He said absolutly no changes could be made even a plate of stir fried veg for spring rolls could not be done but I could order an additional dish for extra charge and have that, I paid an additional £7.95 on top of the £28.50 per head to have a veggie intermediate course. I feel that they could have accomadated a vegetarian intermediate course without an issue or additional cost. It would have been less duck meat to have served. Really disappointed as other restaurants are always more than accommodating with a no meat option. We have always had excellent service and food on a number of occasions previously but this was no where near the usual standard of service.
I also ordered a coffee at the end of the meal which was so terrible and bitter I couldn't drink it so they did take that off the bill with no fuss. The food we did have was delicious and the prawns were fantastic, just dissapiibted by the service.
Made to feel super special by all the team at Aqua8, a fantastic birthday celebrations thanks
Sunday evening dinner was relaxed and quiet. The service was exceptional (it was more than just serving food) and the attention to detail with the menu/food is outstanding. Will definitely be returning, the price compared to the food and service is very reasonable. The roasted duck in sweet soy sauce accompanied with the Glutinous sticky rice in lotus leaf is a must, highly recommended especially the sticky rice. All in all 5* in my opinion.
The food was outstanding we will definitely return
What an amazing restaurant tucked away in Ipswich, excellent food, wine and service. The dishes are presented in a very modern way and look delicious. The beef with ginger and spring onion was so soft and full of flavour. If you have the opportunity to visit - I wouldn't hesitate, a hidden gem.
Fabulous service, selection and delicious food, will definitely be returning
Very disappointed have been going to aqua eight for years recommended to everyone so took all my friends 8 of them for meal spent a lot of money on cocktails and leave it to us menu food we had was good but was not offered any dessert which was included so 8 meals down service poor when complained was told we had run out of time but was still charged we had 2 tables of 4 so not a large group
Delicious food as always. Great service including knowledge of celiac. Even a suprise for the birthday girl when the desert came out with candles and servers singing happy birthday.
6 of us went for lunch on Saturday & we definitely overstayed our welcome as we were chatting for literally hours. However, not one of the staff tried to hurry us or anything. It was outstanding as always & every one of us loved it. Food was perfect as were the cocktails
Great ambiance, gorgeous food, hearty wine and brilliant company made for a very enjoyable evening
Visited for a birthday and was not disappointed. Food was excellent, service was excellent and they had even added balloons to the table and gave a free dessert to the person celebrating their birthday. Great little touches to make you feel a bit special.
This was a great lunch. Delicious food and friendly staff. Would have given this 5 stars if it hadn't been for the awful dance music that was being played. Not something I want to listen to while I'm eating.
Food, service, presentation and attention to detail all outstanding
Ate here before a comedy show at the Corn Exchange on Sunday night, food was excellent, staff friendly, ambience great and could not have had a better experience. The menu is excellent and varied, highly recommended.
Excellent food .I was not told that service charge was added so I added another 10 per cent in error
Excellent service and food. Quiet on the night of review but usually packed at the weekend! Service has improved since I used to visit years ago and got a little frustrated at it! Top notch. Shame so quiet! There was also an offer on midweek with 20% off the food - made all the more accessible for midweek dining! Well done!
Really good food at a really good price. Staff where all very friendly and helpful.
Really tasty food
We hadn't been to Aqua Eight for some time but decided to go with friends on a Thursday night. When we entered the downstairs bar the greeting was at best indifferent and was if anything unwelcoming. There was no-one else at the bar area and the barman was inattentive and distracted by his phone. We had to repeatedly ask to be served any drinks. His personality was as flat as a pancake.
The general decor was now looking shabby and needed a major facelift.
The food was good and the service in the restaurant area OK. Apart from our four there was only one other party in the restaurant. We left at 10.30 and the barman locked the door behind us and he went home. We felt our being at the restaurant was an inconvenience to the barman!!
Not a fault could be said about our visit... the food was outstanding and the staff are friendly and polite
Excellent food and friendly service. The Black Cod with Mizo was particularly delicious.
Lovely restaurant and decor, friendly helpful staff, the food was fine but perhaps a little bland, nothing to set it apart from most other oriental restaurants in the town.
Exciting asian cuisine, great service and great atmosphere; one of our most favourite places to eat, can't wait until next time!
Dreadful service from waiter and manager who had poor knowledge and attitude.
Food not good eg Chicken Katsu was cooked in oil which was old and fish flavoured.
Will never go back.
This place trades on a reputation it no longer deserves.
very nice food, high quality ingredients used and quick attentative service
