About Aquavit London
Welcome to Aquavit London, a new Nordic morning-to-midnight dining experience inspired by the highly acclaimed two Michelin star sister restaurant in New York but with a more informal setting. Aquavit London is now offering a unique Nordic Afternoon tea as well as a pre-theatre menu.
Dishes at Aquavit London honour fresh, seasonal ingredients and deliver a contemporary take on authentic Nordic cuisine, with menus developed by Henrik Ritzén, Executive Chef of Aquavit London, and Emma Bengtsson, Executive Chef of Aquavit New York.
Overseen by the design studio of Swedish-born Martin Brudnizki (The Ivy, Scott’s and Sexy Fish), Aquavit London has been inspired by Gunnar Asplund’s design of Gothenburg City Hall in Sweden, and the restaurant showcases celebrated Nordic designers in a laid-back yet sophisticated environment.

Aquavit London Ratings and Reviews
First time I’ve eaten here and really liked it. Very friendly and helpful - Food really good and a bit different as expected....not massively expensive and would have actually been pretty cheap if we’d gone for the set menu. Didn’t drink so can’t comment on wine. Will definitely be going back
Fantastic food and wine and the service even more than that. Very friendly and service minded. The only thing little to loud background music, but just a little.
We were a family of 4 persons celebrating a birtday and are we happy? Oh yes we are! We will remember this for life.
This is a way of feeling so happy.
Our Review 5 stars out of 5.
Food, fresh, clean, beautifully presented. The Oysters superb, but all of the smorgasborg starters were exceptional. Resatuarant, large and spacious with fabulous ambience. Staff attentive but perfectly distant. Could not fault anything and would definitely return.,
Excellent food and service in a beautiful new setting. Really impressed with the attention to detail in the design; it is elegant, yet more informal than the New York Aquavit. Those familiar with the NYC setting should be prepared for a different experience but just as wonderful in its own way.
We had Sunday brunch on our first ever visit to Aquavit. The restaurant is beautifully decorated-modern but very warm wood and copper tones with lovely Scandinavian rugs on the walls and a light and airy feel. Although beautifully done it is not in the least intimidating. The staff are friendly and the atmosphere is of people just enjoying themselves. The menu was as expected very Scandinavian-herrings/gravadlax/rye bread etc. All delicious with plenty of choices for meat and fish eaters. Maybe less so for a vegetarian. Food was nicely presented and in decent size portions. I particularly recommend the herring selection on the Smorgasbord menu. A very nice touch is the Aquavit trolley. The different Aquavits are explained and there is a wide choice. We particularly liked the delicate tasting elderflower Aquavit. Although not strictly speaking a brunch dish we would also recommend the warm chocolate cake with liquorice ice cream which was outstanding as was the fantastic quality filter coffee. We plan to return.
Came for our second anniversary and it didn't disappoint. Service was bizarre - they didn't forget one thing, they forgot three things - but friendly and attentive and despite sitting us in a "most romantic seat" the bloke next to us was intrusively loud. But the food, OH THE FOOD!!! Absolutely delicious on every level possible. Well worth the five stars and then some. The chocolate pudding with liquorice ice cream still makes me "Homer" at the thought of it...and it didn't break the bank either. An absolute delight.
Had an amazing brunch with unlimited prosecco. The food was perfect, the atmosphere great and the staff both friendly and attentive. I do like some music in the background, and the volume at this establishment was perfect; we could hear the songs but were still able to talk to each other in a normal voice. The menu is well balanced and not too pricey, and there was enough food on the plate to fill us up. I need to go back SOON!
Had passed by the restaurant a few times thought it looked interesting but probably too formal for a weekend meal. To my great surprise the atmosphere was relaxed and fun. The environment is stylish but not over done. The food was great and the pre theatre was great value for money
This newer Aquavit lives up to its New York and short lived Minneapolis roots and ultimately Marcus Samuelson's concept if not his direct influence. Scandinavian dishes are very well prepared, the ambience is contemporary, the service excellent and the prices fair, though not cheap, comparable to restaurants of this caliber. There was a reasonably priced pre-theatre dinner, but even if you ordered off the regular menu, you would not break the bank. And you don't have to try the aquavit pairings to appreciate the food-frankly I detest the spirit, but can heap nothing but praise on the spirit's namesake restaurant. This new London variant is Michelin Star worthy!
One of the best dining experiences we recently had.
The ambience is lovely, cool Scandi design with a warm atmosphere. The food is fantastic and the wine list exceptional. The barkeeper has some great cocktail creations, also non-alcoholic.
The staff is unbelievably welcoming and kind, and needles to say, very well trained.
I hope to go again soon.
Booked at the last minute as we were not expected to be in London. Outstanding meal, from the house cocktail to dessert. Truly a great experience, don't miss it! Had the liver pate, salmon tartare, and the monkfish. All excellent. Service by the adorable Aga was spot on, with good explanations of Scandinavian dishes. Will definitely return next time in town.
Wow really impressed - had gluten free options, really lovely service and ambience inside and food was great. Picked this from the reviews on OpenTable and glad I did! Will be back to try more food. Had the swedish meatballs and would recommend. The sorbet dessert was lovely and fresh.
