Mushroom & Truffle Man'ousheh
Lebanese flatbread with mushrooms, halloumi, ricotta, wild rocket, white truffle oil
over priced and beef not cooked enough (for our taste). We sent it back to be cooked a little more, but seemed like it was just returned after a while (the same as before), as it was cold and you would expect it to be hot if it was cooked more...
I'm afraid I won't be going back. I had to give credit card details to secure an outside table which I don't mind too much BUT after an hour they told us we had 10 minutes to leave the table!!!! They have a limit of 1 hr 15 minutes for a table of two. This is APPALLING - an hour isn't enough to have a proper meal out. We should have had 2 hours min. The food was average and very mean portions for the price. This type of mezze food is all about getting lots of bits to share but at Arabica it doesn't half add up. Very expensive for what you get. We were seated outside the Kings X branch which is in a poor location with no ambience. Definitely won't be going back.
Great food and nice to sit outside. Limited to 1,5 hours for sitting which if a large group may not be enough time
All round excellent from booking to service, food and wine quality. Their £35 set menu is an excellent deal and all the dishes were made to perfection. The food took time to arrived between courses but we found that actually worked out very well, it gave us time to enjoy the cold mezze first, then hot, the grill. Our table wasn’t overcrowded with dishes and there was no rush to finish the dishes to make space. It does mean a very long lunch which was perfect for two friends who had a lot to catch up on. The pistachio ice cream was to die for! And the wine that came with the set menu was also very delicious. Highly recommended and will visit again.
The starters we got were really delicious. The mains left us disappointed. Both the lamb kebab and chicken shish were almost flavourless. I'm sure I'll go back again, but will probably just stick to several starters rather than starters and mains.
The food was absolutely lovely and we had a great waitress. However I wouldn’t sat the host was that welcoming and we did experience a lot of mice as was sat outside. Not the most relaxing experience. Would recommend visiting the Borough Market restaurant instead as had an all round amazing experience there.
Loved this place - first tine and the food was excellent and great buzz
small portions and overprices, food does not taste middleastern and restaurant has no identity
It's all mezze and ridiculously overpriced. We thought a lamb dish costing £13 was a full sized main but a teeny tiny portion came out.
We were asked to leave the restaurant when we still had food on our plates as the restaurant was 'busy and other diners need your table.'
Furthermore, the waiters were leaning over us to collect our plates/cutlery, which didn't make us feel particularly safe in the current climate.
Excellent food and great staff. Would definitely visit again.
Arabica has become my favourite restaurant in London, it's a hidden gem. I've been 5 times with different friends and they have all enjoyed it. Delicious Muhammarah (my favourite Syrian dish), and the Babaganoush Manou'sh is excellent too, an unusual combination of two Lebanese dishes. The Lebanese bread is so fresh and soft. Last year there were some turkish style muscles on skewers which were great but they seem to have been replaced with the fish skewers which are still good.... but bring back the muscles skewers please! Service is excellent, complementary sparkling water. Can't fault this place.
Very poor service. Food was average and over priced. Bill discrepancies that we had to highlight.
Amazing food but expensive! Great venue and nice vibe
Nice place with a great calming ambience. But the food portions are pretty small.
Food was excellent - very flavoursome and great variety. Very impressed.
Service was a little hit and miss - sometimes waiting longer than expected for drinks and having to ask twice.
Service was good and food was even better. Had an enjoyable evening catching up with friends in a comfortable environment.
The food was delicious and when the waitress/waiter was around excellent.
We just waited a long time to order and pay.
Attentive service and every dish was delicious. Will be coming again.
Had three small plates from the express menu, fava, babaganhoush flatbread, and feta salad - nice! For small plates the dishes were a good size, could not finish all. Service was quick. Must wear masks when walking around in restaurant, of course taking them off at the table.
Great food and great service. Make the most of it whilst it’s half off!!
The food was unbelievably good. We couldn't get enough, I think it was no less than the Coal Office, which is a big compliment.
We were sitting outside the front of the restaurant where 4 tables have been added to increase capacity. There was no ambience whatsover and felt a little like you were sitting on a walk way. The food and service are great, but you only noticed that the restaurant had a great ambience and vibe when you walked through to the bathrooms, the place was buzzing with a great energy. Even the outdoor tables in their specified outdoor area were more cozy and welcoming. Sitting at the street entrance let down the experience.
Excellent food, well served in pleasant premises - a pity about the deafening noise levels.
Nice location and great decor. Food was delicious but service could be improved -waiters kept hounding asking as if we needed anything it wasn’t very relaxing. A little intense on the covid-19 safe side too masks at all time’s bar seating was a bit much if your temperature upon arrival was okay then that should suffice .
Have visited this place twice in one week for lunch menu which was excellent value with large portions. I was grateful for thorough Covid precautions Inc test and track procedures, sanitizers , mask wearing and temperature check. Service was friendly and efficient. I will visit again
Delightful staff, extremely helpful and friendly. Tasty food and cocktails. Would certainly recommend!!
The food and service were amazing. The wine was hugely overpriced! £44 for a bottle of Australian Sauvignon Blanc! That may prevent me from returning which is a shame.
Really enjoyed the food and service. Sat outside. Very relaxing. Covid-19 safety procedures in place. Food came out quickly and the waiting staff were friendly and efficient.
Last minute decision to book a table and we were so pleased we did.
Really friendly team at the restaurant.
Temperature taken as you enter and masks worn apart from when at your table, all the team wore masks in the restaurant.
The lady who served us was so friendly and we decided upon the set meal for 35 pp of which £10 is donated to Beruit. This was great value for money as also came with a glass of wine each.
The food was delicious and would definitely recommend.
Well done Arabica!
Had a lovely meal on the Eat Out to Help Out scheme on Wednesday. The staff were absolutely lovely- very friendly and couldn't do enough for you. Food was fantastic and would definitely go back.
Expensive, small potions, reinterpretation of food that's best left authentic.
The food is simply amazing. The waiter was a bit "too eager" and the place was a bit noisy. But OMG the food makes it all worth it.
Fabulous food and very friendly service! Very conscious on COVID safety as well (check temperature at door, hand sanitiser, all staff wearing masks, everyone must wear masks moving around the restaurant while not seated at their table.) We will be back!
The service charge added on the bill is optional but the manager (a male member of staff) questioned us in a very unpleasant way when I kindly asked for the service charge to be removed from the bill. The manager then tricked us to think that the service charge had been removed from the total price and charged us for it, without our consent. I realised it as we were leaving, I mentioned it to the male manager and I was not offered an apology or for the money to be returned to us. Why were we made to pay for a service charge that is optional? I would very much like to make a complaint for the poor customer service and intimidation. This was a special occasion but it unfortunately ruined our day!
Comfortable outside setting. Delicious food and good service.
I’m not sure if it’s because of “eat out” scheme but I wish food portions would be a bit bigger.
Delicious food, good service, not crowded, followed government covid guidelines well, slightly tricky to find.
Good fun and great service , would highly recommended
Lovely, fresh dishes (especially vegetables) with wonderful flavors.
Arabica Kings Cross has a very good middle-east (largely Lebanese) inspired menu which is delivered with aplomb from an open kitchen by quality serving staff. Front of house is always excellent and accommodating -- we ate inside at a table due to wether breaking after a heatwave, but there are outdoor tables at the front and down the side and also some bar seating which is pleasant and sociable if there are two of you. The menu is well chosen rather than extensive with excellent appetisers and delicious hot and cold mezze. Choose pretty much anything and you will enjoy it. Everyone we have ever taken there loves the place and almost all have taken other people back.
We usually order for our party and share around when we have eaten here but the menu offers options for more formality if that is what you are looking for.
The wine list is good (although I recall prices being lower before lockdown). Beer choice is restricted to local London (Peckham) craft beers which was a problem for one of our party for some reason.
If you are looking for a good light lunch or a social supper with a bottle of wine, Arabica manages to be friendly, comfortable and impressive in terms of ambience, staff and menu. I very much like eating there and am very happy to recommend it to others.
