Dinner with my girlfriends.
I regret that I missed the reservation due to an illness in the family. I should have ben able to cancel it properly but Open Table was not working correctly. I look forward to my next visit.
This was the most tasteless Mexican food I have ever eaten. It’s a beautiful restaurant with worthless food.
We were seated immediately (had reservations, obviously). The food was excellent. However, our waiter would disappear for extended periods of time (it was NOT a busy night) and we would have to prevail on others when we needed something. We finally got him to drop off some dessert menus but then he never came back to take our orders. We had to stop a waiter from another section to take our order.
We've had other service issues at this restaurant - cocktails arriving after dinner was well underway and appetizers arriving after we had finished our main meal. The food, however, has always been very good.
Outstanding food and top notch service. I have been dining at Armando’s for years and we love love our waiter. The staff treats my elderly mom with such grace and compassion
The ambiance and food were great. The service was okay. The server we had did not take time to explain his recommendations.
Excellent dining experience. It was great to see Armando at the restaurant. His presence makes it more special.
My tacos were average at best, though I do enjoy this restaurant. Yep t has a great upscale vibe. Not the restaurants fault but there was an obnoxiously loud table with a couple of cacklers next to where we were originally seated. I could not hear my date over their indifferent behavior. Yes, I think they should have a good time but it moved well into rude. The host was able to move us after a bit of thought.
Jorge was a great server - he was courteous helpful and efficient!
I enjoy Armandos from time to time. His restaurant has been a Houston Icon for decades! We enjoyed our dining experience.
Everything was great, except service was slow I believe due to Covid staff shortage! But they did their best! One of our favorite spots since the mid 80’s!
The selection of wine by the glass needs to be upgraded
Family holiday dinner
Waited a significant amount of time before needing to flag the manager that no waiter had approached us. Minor mistakes with the drink orders. Food is generally quite good. Restaurant is loud, but all the guests and staff are very nice.
Just a few friends. Service was really slow but they were also really busy. Ordered the Tortilla soup. And that’s it.
Food is always great; margaritas are, too! Decor is really nice. It can be a bit loud, but we could still hear each other fine. We love Armando’s!
Excellent service, food and experience
Great food and fun.
I was not at all impressed with my entre. I had the Gulf Fish and distinctly remember thinking "this can't be it." The flavor was good the portion was small and the tortillas were excellent. The drinks were well made but the services was quite bad. The server was not very attentive.
Great food, service and ambiance as always but the noise level was terrible. You couldn't talk to a person across the table without screaming.
Sat at the bar and had great service! Food was super!
Queso was absolutely horrible. Very thin and completely bland.
Just amazing food and service, it is the top Mexican or shall I say exquisite Tex-Mex in Houston, this is a very special restaurant, consistent and wonderful, if you seek comfort and elegance this is the place, I love this restaurant! Thank you Armando's for always being so great!
Have been here many times and would always rate it highly. This time, it seems as though the quality has slipped down a bit. The enchilada on a combo plate looked like it was over heated in a microwave
delightful! cannot wait to return again for a wonderful evening!
The man who greeted us at the door asked if we had reservations and we said, “yes.” So he then said, “I’ll bet that group of ladies is waiting for you to at that table”! We said, “no, we had reserved a table for 3 and that was not our group.” So he checked the reservation list again and confirmed our reservation and led us to a booth. As the two of us who had arrived began to sit down, our third friend called to us. She was sitting at another booth. Clearly, the man had not paid much attention to our reservation or to the first person who had already arrived. It did not seem very professional at all. We moved ourselves to the other location and finally were able to enjoy the evening. The food was great! The restaurant was incredibly loud and we were all shouting at one another to be heard. Clearly, everyone was in a festive mood.
Service is not the same how it used to be.
Always a base hit, though rarely a home run. Reliable. Everything is always good. Just not extraordinary. A safe choice, every time. Exceptional staff and service. An institution among Houston restaurant options.
I ordered tacos Al carbon but were bland…had little flavor/seasoning.
Chips and green salsa were very good. Mild red salsa too mild. Spicy red salsa too spicy. Beans were great. Overall, Was disappointed on my entree for a high end restaurant.
Enjoyed warm ambiance and service.
The best mexican food in town. Whenever my kids come into town, Its their first stop for their Tex-mex fix
Really disappointed in Armando’s. First, they served me cold tortilla soup which had to be taken back. Next, the wedge salad had way too many onions, no blue cheese crumbles, and the dressing was tasteless. My Pinot Grigio at $14 a glass tasted like water. The waiter, attentive at first, forgot we ordered more drinks and we waited a long time for them. As it got busier we didn’t see him for long periods. The person who brought the salsa to our table actually had his thumb in the salsa! A manager did come over to see how we were doing but I did not want to cause drama at the time (I now wish I had been honest). The noise level as the night went on was so high my ears were ringing when we got in the car. We could not hear each other talk at all. We just wanted to get out of there. I have been to Armando’s many times before and have never experienced anything like I did last night. We will not be going back anytime soon. So very, very sad to cross this restaurant off my list.
This is the best Mexican food in Houston bar none, consistently delicious and beautiful presentation, the chips are so good, the food is amazing...we ate so much and drank amazing margarita's...I can't wait to go back...the atmosphere is truly special, a special restaurant in a perfect location!
We love everything about Armandos. It’s a hopping place so if you prefer quiet go when the early birds dine.
I had passed by Armandos for about as long as I can remember but never took the opportunity to visit. My bad. My date not only suggested it, but also suggested the sausage queso (cant recall the actual Spanish name) wraps. My goodness they were delicious. Nice crowd too and the place really filled up. This place is now on my short list of places to frequent. Nicely done.
It was great I loved how the owner came and spoke to everyone there and was even walking around getting chips/salsa to tables. I would love to come back again.
When the place turns into more of a disco at 10:00 the crowds get so packed you can’t move. To the point it’s dangerous as there’s no open isles. A fire would end in disaster
Excellent food and dining experience.
Great night out!
