Art Yard Bar and Kitchen
It's a nice ambiance that feels a bit more intimate than normal restaurants. Good drinks and quality produce on the menu. Standards can vary from time to time on the menu, but still good options in the neighborhood for a upscale meal with conversation.
Not bad for a business breakfast, they could have been slightly more attentive and we had to wait a while to be seated despite there being quite a few free tables, but neither issue was much of an issue.
The venue was pleasant. The service was slow and we had to ask to be served. Two out of the four breakfasts were poor - the vegetarian breakfast looked bland, unappetising and of poor quality, and the minted pea on sourdough was cold and too tough to cut. The eggs Benedict and chorizo dish were said to be good.
Visited on Friday evening with a voucher, if I was paying full price I would have been disappointed. Service was casual - cutlery not set properly, server laughing to himself whilst serving our drinks, no check back on food.
Food itself was tasty, my partner was ill that night and ordered the salmon for main, although this is hard to establish if this was due to this particular meal.
Ambience was a little strange, which is usual when at hotel restaurants, especially as the outside is a building site at the moment.
Wouldn’t choose to go back but not a bad restaurant.
Really welcoming staff, lovely space and the food and drink were both excellent
Had dinner here twice while staying at the Bankside Hotel during a trip to the U.K.
Lovely decor and friendly and attentive staff. The menu is fairly small but sufficient. Nice ambience to the place and a great location.
Had a lovely dinner here with my father and partner. We were not staying in the restaurant, rather it’s a nicer place to eat than along the Southbank! The food was great - the Pide were especially delicious. As well, the staff are friendly and wine list great; the art is funky, and great interior design :)
Nice and relaxed brunch and location
Was lovely atmosphere and perfect professional and friendly service. Great quality food and delicious combinations.
Ok restaurant but was fairly empty so lacking in atmosphere.
Great freshly cooked food and decent portions. Good friendly service .
Our evening at Art Yard Bar & Kitchen was a game of two halves - one of our waiters was fantastic, the other disinterested and chilly. The positives outweighed the negatives though, as we enjoyed the food (small portions but v.tasty), wine and surroundings. Food-wise, the burrata, onglet skewers and courgette tempura were standouts. The only dish we didn't like was the gurnard tartare, but that was taken off the bill without asking, which was a really nice touch. Overall, it's a good choice if you're in the area (we loved the art and story behind it too!)
I've been recommending you to my colleagues and friends. They are wowed every time.
Thank you so much!
It's a beautiful place, the food was great and so was the atmosphere, I will definitely be back!
Place was nice, people lovely. Food was good, but over priced I think.
£16 for a burger and fries. No dressing whatsoever on the burger, literally burger (a good one though) in a dry brioche bun. And half a pickle on the side.
Very enjoyable afternoon, service quick, though no one asked if we wanted more drinks.
Definitely recommend for a quick lunch and be relaxed.
Went there a few weeks ago and the food and service were great. Went this week and ordered the same food .... only it wasn’t the same. The heritage tomato salad which first time round was a selection of little yellow and red tomatoes garnished with leaves and little flowers was this time three ordinary tomatoes sliced on a plate.
The pizza, which was £13 was very small and there was barely any chorizo on it. The service was very slow despite the restaurant being fairly empty.
A very kind and helpful waitress at the end of the evening made up for what had been a disappointing visit.
This is an excellent restaurant- nice relaxed atmosphere, attractive surroundings and excellent food
Lovely food and the waiter who actually served us was very helpful. However the cocktail staff were very rude and argumentative. I was there with 2 clients for lunch and after receiving our Espresso Martinis that we ordered (noting requested one to be not as strong) we agreed that too much coffee syrup were in these, one of my clients wanted to see if she could change hers with the cocktail staff and it ended up in a bicker where he was very rude and kept saying he'd done this for 13 years so knew right.
Amazing food especially the chicken and salmon main course. Will definitely be returning soon
A brilliant lunch! Great service and excellent food. We'll be back!
Service was very good but the food was not exceptional and abit dull. I had the cod which was £16 it wAs rather small and I had to order a side. They did have a good selection of drinks. If you are hungry go somewhere else but if it’s drinks and nibbles then this is a good place to hangout
Service is slow, coffee isn’t that nice, £10.50 for a tiny omelette with no garnish seems steep - clients left hungry which isn’t great. My vegetarian breakfast was great however. It lacks consistency and I have left underwhelmed every time which is a shame as the setting and ambience is great.
This is a fantastic hideaway just by Blackfriars Bridge - ideal for a secluded meal in peace and quiet. It felt like a real find - excellent food and even better drinks but without all the racket of other central places. Despite having two little energetic toddlers in tow, we were welcomed very warmly and the cocktails were superb. The kids were able to colour and spread out in the brilliant glass-fronted colouring room where we could keep an eye on them but actually have a conversation over lunch. Will definitely be back for brunch and do this again. Cannot understand the last reviewer who said the food was a bit dull - far from it!
We booked the Art Yard Bar for mothers day, had a such a lovely treat!
The hotel and restaurant are very modern yet cosy and comfortable.
The food was amazing , very tasty with delicious deserts.
I was given a beautiful presents of flowers and a glass a of champagne for mothers day.
Thank you for making the day extra special!
A bit hidden and not the greatest views but thoroughly makes up for it with the service and the quality of the food. Great specials for mother's day and the servers took a lot of care in ensuring we had a great time.
Great menu choices & quality food, contemporary interiors & really lovely friendly staff! A great overall experience was had by all in our group & we would all go back.
A great find. I was treated to dinner for mothers day by my husband and children and we had a really lovely time. The service was excellent, a really lovely atmosphere and as a mom I was given a glass of bubbles on arrival and took home a beautiful bouquet of flowers. A lovely evening and would be happy to return.
A great place for lunch or dinner. We arrived at 2.15 and received a warm welcome. The staff were very informative about the menu and we were given helpful guidance on portions and sides. My wine-marinaded chicken was delicious and the vegetable sides went well with it. Starter of lentil based hummus went down a treat too.
Good range of dishes and suitable for vegetarian diners. I will return when in the area and recommend to friends and family.
Delicious and excellent value for set lu ch menu. Fish was beautifully cooked and the sauce a buttery treat.
Lovely small "boutique" hotel restaurant. Good design and space. Very quiet on the night as it was bad weather outside. Food is executed on a very high level with fresh quality ingredients. Very friendly service.
Very friendly staff and helpful. Food reasonably good but needs more choices and creativity. Comfortable and low noise level which was good.
Good for business lunches with so many offices nearby
This new watery and bar is part of a lovely new hotel in the hot spot of Blackfriars and Southwark. The Art Yard is a nicely designed modern and cool. It’s quite new and it is early January so lacked a little ambience and food was very good , nice and no nosnense, well presented, the staff on the day we’re exevellent.
NYE set menu. All courses very good, well thought out and executed perfectly. Service was excellent
Cena de fin de año! Fue una degustación con maridaje buenísimo
Really great experience at Art Yard. Amazing food and creative dishes - particularly loved the Chargrilled Cuttlefish and Dorset Crab. Beautiful interior too! Will definitely be back.
A warm welcome, but poor service at the end of the meal when we had to ask several times for our change. Menu was compact and somewhat eccentric, and not available to view online beforehand. Limited choice, and expensive for what was on offer.
Hope these are just teething problems as it's a great venue No atmosphere, but very few customers when we went.
